Although the view was great, this property had serious deficiencies. Internet wasn’t available, furnace was loud throughout the night, fireplace was extremely cumbersome to light, and worst of all there was no hot water, thus we left a day early. Hopefully we will receive some refund which we requested.

Didn't have snow but a wonderful view of waves rolling in at high tide. The ocean front view was well worth it!! Easy walk to the beach. We were more than comfortable and ready to call it home.

We loved being able to park inside the garage. The view from the living room is spectacular! Loved the mirror view over the fireplace. It's a great older house that is well kept. Was very comfortable and being dog friendly was definitely a huge plus for us. Will book again.

We REALLY loved our stay. The only critique I have is that we paid service and cleaning fees and were asked to do our laundry, dishes and empty garbages. We would do that anyway but with the cleaning and fees paid which are not cheap, it felt like that should be included. The home was clean and comfortable and we would stay there again.

We thought it was great. It's an old house but with mostly new appliances, 2 bathrooms (old ones usually only had one), plenty of space and a million dollar view of the ocean. It rained most of the time we were there and we walked when it stopped and read books and enjoyed the view of the squalls in-between. It's close to restaurants, etc. Recommend it. Will be back.

It is on the beach. It is dog friendly. But it is strange. It has a weird funk smell and a weird layout. A vinyl plank floor would probably take care of the smell. Only one side window in the oceanside part of the house opens (but does not lock). We were able to get into the home initially, but after going to dinner, we could not get back in because the key did not work. I had to call and get access to a second key using a second code provided, but had to leave both keys in one lock box. I would suggest the owners have the windows facing the ocean cleaned on both the inside and the outside before each stay because the whole reason for booking on the beach is to have the view of the ocean, which was hard to see through the windows. I would also suggest reconfiguring the furniture to have your couch to face the ocean. I understand the purpose of the mirror over the fireplace, but I want to lounge facing the ocean, not with my back to it. Finally, if zoning allows, it would have been nice to have a fence around the strip of back yard and some outdoor furniture to be able to sit out there and enjoy the ocean without fear of our dog falling off the cliff. As it was, I never went to the back yard because of the danger for my pet. It wasn't the worst place I have stayed in...but would I stay there again? Probably not.

Great area and house. Beach access within a block, would have been nice to be able to use neighbors stairway for quick access. Code sent for key access was wrong but after calling property manager it was resolved. Would stay here again!

A good job on things needed to be done , new window downstairs, new refrigerator and concrete fix in driveway. Upstairs shower not working but downstairs working just fine . Still beautiful view and everything comfy see you in three weeks

Views/location are great. Working with vacasa is strange since they use their own platform and do not communicate through vrbo. One shower said ‘out if order’ with no notice, and our group was too large to use one. Very very strong sewer smell from downstairs bath. Played phone tag with maintenance man, after tracking down vacasa outside of vrbo, but never made contact, as we were on the run, vacationing with family.

We really enjoyed ourselves, great place for dogs. Huge front widows for watching the ocean. Safeway and other stores and restaurants are really close by. Would definitely rent this property again.

beautiful view close to everything dog friendly, the only bad thing was the parking. We have a large pickup truck that would not fit in the garage and there is no on street parking so we had to walk just to get to the car.

This was a PERFECT place for my wife and my's getaway! The VIEW is incredible! The bay windows over the couches let you see up and down the beach, unlike other properties with only a flat wall of windows. The street and neighborhood are quiet, and excellent restaurants, coffee, and a grocery store are minutes away. We appreciated being able to park our rental car in the garage when it rained. The beach is beautiful! We found sand dollars to the north, and at low tide, you can walk out to the rocks in the water and see starfish! Beach access is easy either 4 houses up the street or down. The house is older, like most in the neighborhood, but extremely clean and well maintained. Everything worked properly. The extra touches were appreciated such as extra towels, toiletries, and paper products. We can't wait to go back!

We just love the location and view of this house. As mentioned, his was our 4th time staying here—we bring foreign exchange students with us each time. And they are thoroughly impressed! We typically enjoy cute, older, clean, and cozy over sparse, sterile, and modern looking
The only reason I chose 4 stars was due to the electrical outlets. Some are really old and made sparking noises, and wouldn’t hold a plug.
I’m sure safety is of a high priority to you.
Otherwise, we will continue to spend time at this rental—hopefully with safety issues corrected. 🙂

Overall the house was nice with an old school coastal charm to it. The view was spectacular especially from the living room big bay window. However it would have been nice if the staged furniture in the advertisement pictures would have been left inside of the house. The yard sale furniture and bed linens were a little disappointing. Also I believe that if people are going to rent out their house to the general public they should clean out their personal belongings. The garage looked like everything from the last 50 years had been stored there. The yard had not been mowed for over two weeks. As a business owner I can understand that. We are all short on good help. And we just try to get by with the loyal people that we do have. In closing I know that this review may sound negative. However it is meant to be constructive. We can all use some improvement., especially in this day and age. I would stay there again. And I would recommend it to my friends and family as well. Thank you all for the work that you do. Love Westinview a lot will probably be back next year but the window downstairs definitely needs to be fixed. When the sun comes in the afternoon it really heats up the house and the window was the cool air coming in. Much of the beauty is the ocean view and having to close the blinds for hours really hurts the best part of the home.

Great view as usual however the living room window is broken and needs fixing. It is end of April and already the downstairs is warm ,during the summer , without the window availability it will be almost unlivable. Hopefully , it will get repaired soon. We love westinview and want everyone to enjoy what we have in the past.

The view is absolutely incredible! We sat on the couch watching the waves for hours. And the enclosed yard was perfect for our dogs!

Pictures are deceiving. Nothing In the living room is what is shown on the pictures. Couch extremely uncomfortable and should be garbaged. No comfortable seating. Refrigerator did not work, luckily there were two. Dryer knob broken, had to use a pliers. Will not come back to this location.

We've stayed here before and always enjoy it. The refrigerator probably needs servicing as it never got cold. We bought ice to keep some of our meats and veggies cool. The freezer worked but could use a defrosting.

The pros: The view and location are all as promised. You are paying for that. Beach has several easy access points to the north or south. Finding an ocean front house that is dog friendly with a fenced front yard is rare. There's a lot of space in the house for people to spread out. House was clean. Wifi strong and reliable.
The cons: This feels like a beloved old beach house that is slowly falling apart. Reviews in July 2022 mention all this:
"Doorknob to upstairs bathroom is taped on. Door won’t close. Doorknob falls off if you touch it. [...] One main plug ins by couch has an extension plate glued to it. There is a short in this so nowhere to plug those lamps in. Other plug in over used with extension plates that are not grounded. Seems like a safety issue w an older home like this. Gate [to backyard] needs repaired. Hard to open and shut especially when it’s windy. Downstairs windows [were broken and] didn’t open."
All of this remained true in our visit in September of 2022. For several days a strong smell of sewage emitted up the main bathroom stack - we're not sure if it was strong winds or something else. Added to that was the fact that one of the upstairs windows (in the bedroom with the twin beds) opened fully and yet had no screen, a total hazard for kids and pets. The downstairs window blinds were in various stages of not-working. Some didn't stay up, some were knotted and didn't come down (with the resulting blinding sun in the afternoon). The fridge that was reported as broken in an earlier review was still present, along with a smaller (european sized) working fridge. Unfortunately, it was hard to notice the broken factor as it was cool, but not chilled, and at first we put all our food in the non-working fridge for several hours before figuring it out.
For pet owners - the backyard is NOT fenced as it states in the description. The front yard is fenced, but with many gaps under and next to fencing if your pooch is an escape artist of smaller sized. Our 30-lb dog managed to squeeze under the front fence and out into the main road by pushing through broken/loose plastic fencing. We reinforced it with scraps found in the garage for our stay.

To start with when we opened lockbox there was no key in it. There was another lockbox but it didn’t open despite multiple repetitive tries. Was only able to get into house bc housekeeper was there late bc dryer was broken. Housekeeper didn’t finish until 5:30. Bc sheets needed dry. Texted owner re no key. No answer. Texted Vacasa. No answer for 2 days. Than was told I had to join a que w 55 people ahead of me w wait time of 23 minutes. After 4 hours I hung up. We just left house unlocked if we went different places at same time. When we checked out we were only able lock doorknob lock. It was that or throw garage door opener in on the floor. Trash situation is very poor. The outside trash was already overstuffed w a bungee cord on it! So not a new situation. Now there are 3 full trash bags on top of trash can and some boxs w trash in them. In the intermin we hung trash on nails in the garage so dogs or wildlife didn’t get into them. Doorknob to upstairs bathroom is taped on. Door won’t close. Doorknob falls off if you touch it. Shelf in fridge broke. One main plug ins by couch has an extension plate glued to it. Positives: view is nice. House was clean. Good shower in master bathroom. Kitchen well stocked. Front yard very small but it is fenced which was very convenient w the dog Lots fun walking and playing on beech w dog. Nice shops Did glass blowing. Make reservations ahead for this. Tried to not let all the problems overrun the relaxation but the key thing was upsetting. Couldn’t help but wonder how we would of got in if not for house cleaner and broken dryer. I would have been hot if we couldn’t have got in for hours or days. Have lost confidence in Vacasa.

The view was incredible from this house! Anything you need is provided and the walk to the beach access is very close. Only negative would be that there aren’t any comfortable chairs in the house but the four days we spent at Westinview were awesome!

The view is amazing and there is very easy beach access. The huge issue we had was the refrigerator was not working and the replacement was a hotel sized mini-bar fridge. We brought food for our 3 day stay then had to throw most of it out because of no refrigeration. We rented a home specifically so we could cook meals, relax at the beach and not have go out. Aside from the cost of the food we brought then having to throw it out, we had to go out to eat all of our meals which we definitely did not budget for. (A side note - due to lack of employees at local restaurants, with almost of none of them accepting reservations and closing early, often at 7pm, it was extremely challenging to find places to eat which was a huge hassle; lots of driving around and frustration.)
A solution would have been to put a rental refrigerator in the garage (or even a couple more mini-fridges).
We were super disappointed that no one contacted us ahead of time about the fridge not working especially because it stopped working several days before our trip so it was a known issue. We could have cancelled, rescheduled or at the least, not have brought food. When we got there, it took us over 2 hours to get ahold of someone at Vacasa, with 2 of us trying several numbers. More than 2 lawn chairs would have been nice (they are an inexpensive accommodation), and the old, very low to the ground and extremely uncomfortable camp chairs in the garage were essentially useless.
The other issue of note was the gate to the back yard being broken. To open and close it, you had to lift a heavy gate up and more importantly, there was no way to close the gate from the backyard side so we would have had to be vigilant about our dogs getting out via the front yard. Not being able to secure the gate, we were unfortunately unble to enjoy the yard.
I wanted to give a good review but the above really changed the dynamics of our stay.

Family Feelin’ Fine!
A great home with comfy retro furnishings and relaxing atmosphere. My second visit to WestInView, so clean both times! The view of the Pacific Ocean is reflected in the mirror above the gas fireplace, with a large couch in the windows right above the beach. The pet friendly enclosed yard keeps dog safe while outside. The kitchen well equipped for cooking, a breakfast table and dining room table, such a delight.
