Situated in Idaho, this charming lodge for $1,200 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Family friendly, home town hospitality! Rural setting with urban amenities. Excellent opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Located in close proximity to the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness Area. Public lands, roads, lakes and rivers offer countless ways to spend the days - hike, bike, swim, boat, fish, ATV, snowmobile, cross-country ski, snowshoe etc. Large Facility accommodates large groups. Ideal for family vacation/reunion, business conferences, retreats etc. Outdoor activities & dining. Covered 40 x 40 pavilion. Campfire pit with firewood. BBQ grill. PLEASE NOTE: Renters may not invite additional guests that are not included in the maximum overnight rental. Events such as weddings, large celebrations etc. are not included in this vacation rental package. NO PETS and NO SMOKING allowed in the building in consideration of the health and safety of all guests.

I don't think I can really add anything to what all the other reviews say. It's all true. This is an amazing place to stay. Absolutely everything has been thought of. It is 110% spic and span clean. Everything is just absolutely beautiful, inside and out. We would love to come back.

We had the privilege to spend several days at this amazing place . So many activities for everyone. The kids never asked what is there to do…..actually there wasn’t time to do it all. This place is built for large groups and handles it beautifully. The owner has thought of everything and more to make your stay the most memorable ever. We will certainly return again. Thanks Meggan and the staff…..we are all missing the Elk Barn Inn.

Our second stay at the Elk Barn was as enjoyable as our first. We love being enveloped in nature where everyone has their own space and can find something they enjoy doing. The kids loved the creek, the teens and adults loved ping pong and pickleball (created our own court) and everyone loved the nightly wiffle ball games. We plan one day out to hike and swim at Kootenai Falls and bowl at the lanes in nearby Troy. Hard to beat this lovely place.

The Elk Barn Inn was the perfect spot for our family reunion. We filled the lodge, had three RVs and used the Cowboy Cabin. The lodge had all we needed for our group . Meggen has added little touches everywhere that were appreciated. The setting is stunning and the pond was a refreshing spot in the hot afternoon. We all (28 of us) agreed the Elk Barn Inn is exceptional!

As a professional traveler, I stay in 8 to 10 home rentals a year with large groups. The Elk Barn is easily in the top three I have ever stayed in - absolutely ZERO complaints! Meggen makes everything easy and bends over backwards, even helping us come up with anniversary decorations last minute. Never have I ever seen a more fully stocked house - from multiple washer/dryers, multiple refrigerators, multiple cover bars and microwaves, all the way to EVERY POSSIBLE cooking spice or equipment you could need. SO SO SO CLEAN! Additionally, the outdoor space is as grand as the indoor. You could arrive at the Elk Barn and never leave and you would be fine. The pond and creek are especially magical.
Staying here allows you see so much during the daytime.

The Elk Barn Inn and Meggen were amazing. It was comfortable, clean, very well stocked, and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of space for everyone, inside and out. The outdoor covered spaces are awesome, and the grounds were wonderful! We'd highly recommend this place to anyone!

The Elk Barn Inn is nothing short of spectacular! The pictures really do not do this place justice. The forests and surrounding mountains are jaw dropping, as is the barn itself.
We spent 5 nights with a full group of 9 kids and 16 adults for a family get together. There was never a shortage of beautiful views, fun things to do, or warm cozy spots to hang out. Being close to the Cabinet Mountains, the Clark Fork River, and Lake Pend Oreille, meant we were able to take several day trips to local areas as well!
Meggen was a great host, and we'll for sure be back in the future.

Our small company comprised of 16 adults who work remotely and reside in 5 northwest states spent a long weekend at the Elk Barn Inn and it was absolutely PERFECT! This place was fantastic for our family reunion!
The Inn was even better than it looked in the pictures. The rooms and gathering spaces were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Lots of kitchen space for our crew of 25. We enjoyed the property so much too- lots of great amenities. The pond and stream are great and Meggen made us feel welcome and was attentive when we had a need. Great stay- highly recommend!

We loved this exclusive get away in Montana! The property was amazing with so many activities and the house was even more amazing with all the space and accommodations. It was so nice to have food and snacks there because we didn’t realize how far away from stores we were. The kids had so much fun and the owner was available when we needed her! We are for sure going back.

A blast at the Barn!
We are Friends and Families that ride snowmobile’s through the winter and love to check new places out! The riding was good after we got some fresh snow, our stay at the Barn was better than expected! We are all in to see stay at the Barn again next year!
Meggen is the general manager and the owner, she was great to meet and find out a little bit about the Barn. I would like to thank her and her family for rebuilding the Barn so we can enjoy it also!

Family Reunion
The Elk Barn Inn is a little piece of heaven and our family loved every minute of our stay. Meggen’s attention to every detail was noticed and appreciated at every turn, like homemade chocolate chips cookies (and many other snacks) to greet the weary travelers and fans and extra blankets in every room. The inn is spacious with many areas to gather in large or small groups. We played lots of games! The kitchen is a caterers dream and we found every possible pan, bowl and tool needed. The kids spent hours playing wiffle ball in the spacious gravel parking area and they especially enjoyed skipping rocks and wading in the creek and pond even though the water temperature took their breath away. We brought many of our own games and yard toys but didn’t even need to get them out. The kids had so much fun playing outside we never felt the need to bring out the craft projects we planned. Everyone slept comfortably and the early risers didn’t wake the late sleepers since the bedrooms are separated from the main gathering areas. We spent one day visiting the Ross Creek Giant Cedars, Kootenai Falls and the Swinging Bridge—all spectacular sights. We even rented the bowling alley in Troy where we were treated like honored guests. Very memorable family reunion.

Amazing property
The property was immaculate and so well appointed in every detail. The host was gracious, kind and accommodating. She made me and all my guests feel so welcome. The setting was breathtaking and so wonderful to get away. It’s true luxury accommodations in the heart of nature.

Beautifully furnished and decorated property! We were there during a heat wave and the cooling was inadequate on the 3rd floor (1 bedroom and theater room) but otherwise we had a wonderful stay! Grounds and pond were nice, too. The pond was a nice respite from the heat and accomodated our 16 grandchildren well. They have made a beach with a fine gravel that extends all the way to the island so its not weedy and doesn't have sticks that hurt your feet. They also provided a nice array of treats that were enjoyed by all. We had a great time!
