About this lodge
Situated in Texas, this lovely lodge for $582 per night is a great choice for your next trip. The Cedar Lodge is a newly completed 2750 square foot luxury cabin. The ceiling to floor windows in the dining/living area provide an excellent view of the beautiful Frio River below. The cabin interior and exterior walls are 100% cedar while the floors and ceilings are made of beautiful, natural pine. The great room/dining area features expansive ceilings with solid wood beams adding to the already spacious downstairs living area. Granite countertops accentuate the kitchen, bar and all bathrooms. The Master bedroom downstairs has a King sized bed, with a private shower/tub combo bathroom. A new washer and dryer, provided for your convenience, are next to the half bath downstairs. All new, quality towels and linens are included for your convenience. Upstairs in the loft that overlooks the open downstairs area, is a twin sized day bed and game table. Further down the hall you will find a bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds -- plenty of room for the kiddos. At the end of the hallway is another large and spacious bedroom with a Queen sized bed. A roomy bathroom with a shower/tub combo service the bedrooms on the second level. For additional guests, the great room has two Queen sized sofa beds. The large cedar deck overlooking the Frio has plenty of outdoor seating and provides an excellent gathering place to just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Tubing, swimming and kayaking in the Frio River are just out the back door. Cedar Lodge is located 9 miles from Garner State Park and a short, scenic drive through the hills takes you to Lost Maples State Park. The place was absolutely perfect for what we needed - a quiet getaway for family and friends to come together and be in nature. Spacious, clean, and right next to the river - this cabin was a hit with both adults and kids.
Quick drive to Lost Maples, and even quicker to Garner State Park. Leakey was 5 minutes away and also very quaint!
Tom was responsive, kind and thoughtful - we met him on the property walking around at some point and it was a lovely chat. He was also super responsive on the phone and via message.

My family and I loved the cabin! The fire pit was perfect for making s’mores and even though water levels were low the kids loved fishing and exploring the outdoors. Definitely will be rebooking for future getaways!

Cedar log house was so beautiful, it made our family feel so cozy, private and as if we were staying in our own huge tree house. River access only steps away with a private feel to all the area. The beautiful big windows felt as if you were outside enjoining nature and yet with all the privacy at the same time. Love the whole area, the amazing sunsets and always a pleasure to visit. The property manager is awesome he response quickly and is very helpful making the trip a breeze.

2nd time to stay at the Cedar lodge and it did not disappoint. Perfect spot for kids to get into the beautiful Frio River and fish. Very close to town if you need to grab something. Simply a great place to stay!

We had an excellent time and the property was fantastic. Tom was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Be aware, we have Verizon cell service and had no service for miles around the house, but the house does have wifi. Download the directions before you get there just in case!

My family and friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving getaway stay at Cedar Lodge. There was plenty of space for all 13 of us( adult, teenager and children)Tom let us check in an hour early. The only thing missing in is the Keurig coffee pods. 4 of us are RNs and we are coffee drinkers. We had to buy some from the Family dollar in town which is just a few minutes drive away. The river is shallow. It is understandable due to Texas drought.Over all we had a wonderful stay.

This house is gorgeous, spacious and very clean. The property offers beautiful views front and back with direct access to the river. We were a group of 8 adults and had plenty of space inside and outside, as well as everything we needed in the kitchen.

We loved the stay. The house is amazing. I don’t know who cleans the house but it’s very dusty. Ceiling fans have an inch of collected dust as well as the furniture. We were afraid to sit on the couch because we were afraid there were dust mites. The rules say no loud music outdoors but the neighbors played their loud music past 2:00 am. Otherwise we loved the place & the location.

It was an amazing trip! This cabin is just beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous! The river is a bit low but you can still walk in the river and see beautiful trees all around.

This was a perfect fit for my family and extended relatives to get together and enjoy all that Leakey has to offer. The Frio was very low, but there are spots below the house with plenty of water where you could float around and play in the water. I also want to say that Tom was exceptional when it came to responsiveness and hospitality. I would not hesitate staying here again.

It is quite impressive when you walk from the entrance foyer into the main room which is a massive space including the kitchen, dining, and living room areas. The space runs the full length of the house and approximately 3/4 the width with a soaring ceiling I would guess is 30 feet above enhanced by a wall of windows from floor to ceiling looking out to the hills beyond and the river below. All pine floors with beautiful cedar walls throughout the entire house. There is a large deck with a table and seating for outdoor dining with the view of the hills and river. A set of steps out the back takes you down to a fire pit with seating. Just below that is the river where you can enjoy a swim or tubing. You are also very close to two great parks for hiking, kayaking, etc.

Wonderfully kept property in a beautiful location. We were pleasantly surprised with the host’s attention to detail, throughout the property. Kids had lots of fun at the river and fire side, while adults enjoyed the serenity and peace. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Plan to visit again.

Pictures do not do it justice. The house was amazing, and very very clean. The patio, the access to the river the entire scenery was gorgeous. We are so looking forward to our next trip there - hopefully in the Spring. The weekend was perfect weather, and even if happened to be too cold, the patio, the firepit area and indoors would have been wonderful. WiFi in the house was great, but not so much outside, but that is just the location and nothing to do with the home itself. We truly enjoyed the home and the owner was very quick to answer any questions we had. Kitchen had all the appliances, cookware, and utensils that we needed. We brought our own tubes and just sat in the river - it was a little cold, but very relaxing especially since there was really no one else around.

Cabin directly on the river with everything you need for a river getaway. The water was beautiful and not too deep. Perfect for young children. Safe depth so moms can actually relax and not worry while the kids play.

This is a great house with a nice river access. It is a little further from most rentals and campgrounds which makes it more private. You do have neighbors on each side of the house that are very very close but it didn’t bother us much. We really enjoyed the property!

This house is absolutely beautiful!! Access to the river was fantastic! There was both shallow and deep water so you could sit in the water or float in your tube. Next time we will pack fishing poles! We spent mornings and evenings on the beautiful back porch and loved every minute. The house was stocked with everything we needed. Tom was so easy to work with and the check in and out process was great. Do yourself a favor and book this amazing home!!

An absolutely wonderful place to spend with friends and family! The owner was extremely accommodating and so very flexible as I had to reschedule my trip many times due to weather and with very short notice. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WILL DEFINITELY REBOOK IN THE FUTURE

This property is fantastic. The location is great and house was awesome! There were 11 of us- 6 adults and 5 teenage boys. Everyone slept comfortably and had plenty of room. The access to river was nice. The owner is great and will answer any questions you have! We will definitely be back!

This place did not disappoint. It's spacious, clean and had all the necessities required for baking, cooking, beverages and fun. Even with a couple of days of rain, we relaxed and bird watched from every angle of the main floor. The easy access to the water was perfect. Thanks for a great stay!
