The was perfect for our party. The adults spent the majority of the time in the main living area, while the kids bounced between the loft area and the recreation room. The fireplace was my favorite part of the house! Nothing like the crackle of wood while watching the snow fall outside.The kitchen was well-stocked (including spices!), and it's central location made it a joy to cook while interacting with everyone. The enclosed porch would have been great during warmer months (maybe put a wood stove out there for the winter?!), and the house was decorated for the holidays. There were also plenty of extra pillows and blankets for all. Thumbs up for good quality pillows!The kids also enjoyed the sleds in the garage.The driveway is a switchback and proved difficult to maneuver with 2-3 inches of snow on the ground, so 4x4 is a must in winter! Though, they did provide several snow shovels in the garage that I should have taken advantage of.Overall, great property and great value! Thanks for the memories!

Eagle's View was the perfect home for our family to get together for the holiday. The home's spacious layout gave us plenty of room.
Six adults and four children fit nicely with room to spare at the dinning room table. We especially loved all the natural light and the fireplace.

Not the newest lodge on the mountain, but certainly well maintained and very nice. Enjoyed our weekend stay at this place and will consider going back again.

We had a long holiday weekend at Eagles View this summer. For our group, the main appeal of this area is having backdoor access to the trail network in the Dolly Sods and being able to gather together in the evening in a cozy indoor and outdoor space. From that standpoint this house was very good.Overall the house is well appointed. The sleeping arrangements were fine and the screen options for TV/movies were good. Internet was fast. The kitchen had plenty of implements for cooking large group meals and the grill worked well. However, some of the furniture is old. If you like apocalyptic Christian fiction the library options are definitely for you!BoC was able to quickly respond on Sunday PM to an issue with the hot tub, getting it back into useful condition.

It could just use a good cleaning (silverware drawer was gross, dusty baseboards etc.) and some maintenance. 2 burners on the stove got hot making it interesting for cooking for 10. The shower in the master drips and the heaters in the other 2 bedrooms are REALLY noisy making it hard to sleep. Even though we had a great time with our children and grandchildren we won't stay again at this one.

Fantastic property in Old Timberline Canaan Valley WV
We have stayed in Canaan Valley many times and this was one of our favorite houses to date. Beautiful setting in Old Timberline. House was immaculate, had everything we needed, hot tub worked great, garage a huge plus with the cold weather and great bunk room for the kids!

We rented this beautiful place to gather our whole family and it was PERFECT! I particularly loved the huge table that we could all gather around for meals. The game room was perfect for a little family competition. My grandson really enjoyed exploring the "big house" and fishing in the nearby ponds. We explored so much while we were there from the caverns to hiking Seneca. Will keep this house saved for future visits!! Loved it!

This is a cozy house tucked in the woods, with a wrap-around deck in the front and a screened porch in the back. It has 3 comfortably sized bedrooms, each of which sleeps 2 people, and one dorm-type room with six single beds for kids or teens. We spent a little bit of time in the downstairs game room, where I remembered how to play skee-ball from long-ago beach days. There was plenty of room to laze around, with couches, comfy chairs, and a big-screen TV. Internet service was excellent. Decor is appropriately mountain and bear-related throughout, which adds to the house's warmth. The kitchen has most standard equipment, though I'd recommend bringing special items you use often, in my case, a coffee cone and filters, for one. The location is great for seeing the area sights. It's 9 miles south of Davis, 11 miles south of Thomas, and 10 miles north of Harman. A few miles past Harman is the Still Hollow Distillery -- worth making the trip. Blackwater Falls State Park is about 11 miles north. A lovely, peaceful, quiet spot for a relaxing vacation.

West Virginia Getaway
What an awesome experience from start to finish! All communication prior to booking and after was excellent. The home was a perfect getaway nestled on a treed lot on a mountainside. One neighbor is somewhat near but the layout and positioning of the house helps preserve a sense of peace and privacy. The sunset view from the balcony was a perfect place for dinner and a glass of wine. The kitchen had adequate supplies for cooking and everything is well laid out and labeled. Though there were only two of us, the layout of the bedrooms would be great for families, friends, or couples traveling together. The gameroom was a blast! We spent time every day playing darts, ping pong, shuffleboard, and skeeball. All were high quality and in great condition with the only exception of having only one set of darts that had varying degrees of damage to the flights but in good enough shape for casual players. There was a nice selection of puzzles and games to use and the living room furniture was incredibly comfortable and cozy. The hot tub was in a great location and all jets worked. It's easy to operate and get the cover on and off. The small towns close by were fun to explore and had some neat restaurants and shops. Overall, this is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Everything was so comfortable and the home felt so warm and inviting. We saw quite a few deer and loved the beautiful surroundings. We are hoping to come back with friends to enjoy the this awesome place again!

Excellent views and customer service
We came with our two children and friends that also had tow kids. The place had a lot of space and everything we needed and more. We really enjoyed the games and puzzles. We finished one and started a second. The owner said they usually keep one going so that was fun. The views of the sunsets over the mountains were amazing. The beds were comfy. The area was quiet and safe. And when we needed assistance with the hot tub we sent an email and had someone there to fix it in less than 8 hours. We loved our stay.

Beautiful home near amazing hiking
We really enjoyed our stay, be it the game room, hot tub, or just hanging out on the deck or living room. We loved the hiking and views from the top of the neighborhood and liked the convenience in going to Blackwater falls and Canaan valley for hiking.
