The road in and driveway were the only complaints.

Landers Lakehouse is a very quiet and peaceful getaway. My only issue was the dog that was always around. We couldn’t eat outside as planned as the dog was always wanting food.
Other then that very peaceful and relaxing.

Overall our stay was great. Just when i took a shower i almost fell the mat that was in the shower had something slimy on it. And the grill wasnt clean but the utensils inside of it was clean. So we had to clean it before using it. And the microwave went out when we plugged up the lights on the porch. So we went the whole night without it which was inconvenient because i dont eat until late night.

A great place to stay. Beautiful location on the lake. Lots to do in the area

The back patio was fantastic. The only exception is there is no safety railing. It's a decent size Hill to fall off from the patio. I do not recommend for older adults or younger children. The house itself was clean and nice. The bathroom desperately needs upgrades and a really good cleaning. Even a new shower curtain would help. The lake and the fire pit are quite a walk. We are older ladies that got together for a girls weekend and nobody could make it down to the beach or to the fire pit. We really didn't mind as we so enjoyed the back porch! The scenery is beautiful. A very well needed and relaxing weekend. The road there is very tricky. This is not the owner's fault but there's a washout gully that is very hard to navigate. Parking was ample. Kitchen was very well stocked. They had everything we needed and more. The grill could definitely use a really good cleaning. It appeared they had a fish cleaning station but that also needs a good cleaning. All in all we did enjoy our stay. Owners communicated very well. I guess my only complaint would be the safety issues with the back porch, and upgraded bathroom desperately needed, and too much of a hill to get to the lake or the fire pit for us "gray hairs" but we all still enjoyed the stay

We stayed from aug 2-5. Quiet loved the back porch, rocking chairs. My husband and girl fished from the dock and shore. Caught a couple of little fish and the tree a lot. the lakehouse was cozy. Does need some updates, especially the bathroom. Mold on the ceiling amd caulk of tub. Its a little hard getting in and out of tub, but we managed. Part of the shower head didn't seem to work, my husbamd couldn't figure it out either and he can work anything. The shower faucet also drips, which is a pet peeve of mine and drives me insane. Lots of duck tape patch work around the house also. Other than those small things which would be simple fixes, it was great. We did not use the boat or kayaks as this property is close to the dam and my husband refused to allow us in the water. The row boat was left seats up and was filled with water and sludge, so my husband didn't want to deal with that either. Make sure you drive super slow as the ruts in the gravel road are horrible. Awd and 4wd are best, as you have to back in and out of the driveway and it is on an incline. Angilos pizza of verona does not have good pizza. Try their subs or fish, thats what the locals were eating..wish we had known. we also ate at boonedocks which was pretty good and we hit dave and busters. Great location to the ark..which we found expensive and boring, we did love the virtual reality at the ark, not included in your ticket. however we enjoyed the creation museum and the planetarium also not included.

We stayed with 3 of our grandkids and had a great time. The cabin is small, rustic, and remote . . . And exactly what we were looking for. Communications were detailed and timely. Would stay again.

Had a great time at the lake house. There were 4 adults and plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and everything was as described. Kitchen was fully stocked making cooking easy. The porch and the rocking chairs were great! Close to the ark encounter and creation museum. Neighbor dog was so sweet and she made an appearance every day. We enjoyed her company. She even greeted us when we pulled up. Absolutely recommend and would rent again if we are in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at Landers Lakehouse. It is the perfect place for active kiddos and families who want to spend time outdoors. We were visiting from NC and spent most of our days kayaking, boating, swimming, and fishing! We ate our meals on the back porch and it was lovely! Our only regret is that we did not book for longer! We got lost on the way. (Watch out for Alexander vs Alexandria rd.... which was our fault.) Once we found the correct road, we followed the owners directions and got there in no time (on our minivan). Drive slow on the gravel and you will be just fine.
I must praise the owners for being very accomodating and quick with responses. We were rushing during check-out time and managed to leave some very valuable items in the cabin (very out of character for us but sometimes life with kids does that to ya). The owners were very quick to let us know about the items we left and were willing to meet soon after for items.
Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us.
This NC fam would love to return!

We loved the stay. No complaints. The view is amazing, wildlife everwhere, and the lake is a plus!

Landers Lakehouse was such a nice quite place to stay. You could hear the birds, see wildlife, and enjoy a paddle around the lake in the kayaks. The lakehouse is a wonderful place to take small children to learn to use a kayak as there is no wakes on the lake to scare them and give them time to get the hang of it. The lakehouse is a perfect place to unwind and get rid of electronics my child didnt ask one time for anything electronic. She is enjoyed the kayaks, playing cards, and board games. You also arent far from the Ark Encounter or the Creation Museum.

I really enjoyed the slow pace of the lake. Loved sitting on the deck watching and reading. My grandson loved fishing, and paddled a kayak for the first time. Would definitely visit again.

This is a very nice vacation house on a lake. It located about as good as it could be for visiting the Ark and Creation Museum, and add to that being on a lake with kayaks available for use, and this is a combination hard to top in the area. The back porch facing the lake is a great feature and an ideal spot for morning coffee.
However, the place is a little rough around the edges. It's clean, but I would not use the term "immaculate", as others have commented. The main reason is black mold in the bathtub. There is really no reason for that, and is what has brought my rating numbers down. The caulking in the bathroom is in poor shape, and it's very obvious that there have been water issues around the bathtub. I don't think it would take much to correct the situation properly, and then it would make the place much more appealing.
Aside from that, the kitchen and house is well stocked with essentials. The kitchen appliances are in good condition, and include a Mr Coffee drip machine, but no dishwasher. There are a lot of random condiments in the kitchen, some older than others, and it looks mostly like items left behind by former tenants. The pots and pans are mostly non-stick, but extremely scratched up. Not an issue for me, but if that is something that would concern you, now you know. There are also a number of board games, card games, and a few DVDs. We only used the AC once, but it worked great!
As many have said, the gravel road accessing the house is a bit challenging. We brought a Toyota Sienna and had no problems, but you do need to pay attention and go slow. It's narrow and the more rain you get, the more rutted it's likely going to be. Looks like there was a recent effort to improve the road with a truck load or two of new gravel. That's good, but loose gravel on a slope, will not stop water from flowing, and some of it was already washed out. The ditches need to be cut a little further up the hill and the road crowned just a little more. They need to hire an engineer or a farmer to provide recommendations on a more permanent drainage solution. And this is the good section of the road, coming off Alexander Rd. Do not attempt to come in off of Lebanon-Crittenden Rd, from the west, unless you have a 4WD. You will not make it with the mommy van, and will be either trying to drive in reverse along a narrow gravel road, or calling a tow truck. I know, we walked that road and there is no way. Just don't!

I was a little nervous when we were told turn by the trash cans down the gravel road… but after checking into our little cabin, we were automatically at home!! It seemed like the rest of the world vanished for a weekend as we sat on the porch with our coffee watching the wildlife and chatting. It was THE PERFECT getaway!! Thank you for this Alice of heaven on earth!

The view in the mornings is amazing. You wake up to peace and quiet and look out on a calm beautiful lake. The sun reflecting off the water makes all your troubles fade away. The cabin is cozy and warm. The amenities were perfect. I can’t think of a think I would change…..except…I’d lower the bathroom mirror because unless your 6 ft tall you aren’t going to be able to see in it lol. Other than that it’s a little piece of paradise. I would recommend you come in a suv or truck. The ruts in the roads getting there could swallow a small car but this is not the owner of the cabins fault. You just have to be very careful when driving there. Don’t plan on arriving at dark so you can see to go around the ruts. But all in all I give this an A+++

Overall we really liked the place. The only negatives were it was not as kid friendly (for littles) as we would have liked. Also, the bathroom could use some updates as the molding around the tub was pretty beat up; mirror was too high and u probably need another hand towel holder. The back porch was really nice and we enjoyed being so close to the water. Very cute place and the beds were pretty comfy.

My sister, brother and I met for our second year in a row here, and had a great time! The weather was very windy, so we weren’t able to get outside much, but the house was perfect for the 3 of us to sit in the living room and play games! The house had all the basics we needed, and our hosts were very responsive! We had a great time and hope to do it again next year!

If you are between 20 to 70...this is the property for you. The lake is beautiful, kayaks with paddles or a rowboat available. Fishing was good (caught a large catfish). The cabin itself was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Little amenities were present.
The property is on a hill to get down to the lake. Not a big deal unless you are physically challenged.

We really did not want to leave! Very peaceful, beautiful setting. The neighbors, as well as the very social doggy, were all extremely nice. The bedding could use an update, but overall we had a wonderful time!

We enjoyed our stay the last few days. The porch and views were amazing. The lake was so calm and peaceful. The hosts had thought of several details, like having extra blankets for chilly nights on the porch and a kid-sized kayak. The fire pit area was great and there were plenty of chairs and rockers so we didn't have to constantly move the same few chairs around to different areas like we've had to at other rental homes. The windows seemed new and easy to open/close with nice screens, which were perfect for this time of year. The neighbor dog was a super sweet visitor. We'd love to come back! Overall, the cabin was very clean. Our only suggestions are that the bathroom needs some work and you might want to add steps and a handrail to 3 feet or so just off the porch where the yard has a steep slope. The toilet seemed new and clean, but the shower, caulk and trim around it need some attention. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Sitting on the porch makes you forget all about that though, it was beautiful! Thank you!

We had a great experience here at Landers lake house! The hosts were very quick to answer all of our questions, I had a lot! We thoroughly enjoyed the back porch and the whole family kayaked several times. I would stay again!

Perfect location for exploring the area - Big Bone Lick, Rabbit Hash, Arc Encounter, Creation Museum and a tour of Church Hill downs. Relaxing on the porch and taking in the scenery before and after exploring every day. Kayaks are a plus but sadly it was windy and cool so we didn’t venture out. Def would recommend as a nice relaxing stay!
