Treat your loved one to a couple of nights at Heron's Retreat in this newly renovated 1 bedroom cottage nestled into the trees in the Steinhatchee Landing development. As owners we are very strong believers in delivering an excellent experience at an incredible price. We want to be the best in luxury and the most affordable too. Our cottage got more 5 star reviews in 2016 than any other property in Steinhatchee. Heron's Retreat sits creekside with a gently flowing creek immediately off the back porch and walking trails that wind through the tree hammock and down to the river. It is important to note of the eight honeymoon cottages, ONLY the creekside cottages have back porches that offer a view of the creek and walking trails. Heron's Retreat is professionally decorated with some gorgeous artwork and décor that makes it stand out from any other property. Newly painted interior and exterior, you will find the cottage to be immaculate! Brand new flat screen TV's and bluetooth audio system add to the quality experience and ours is by far the most updated of all the honeymoon cottages. The back porch will create a feeling of being immersed in the trees with high end patio furniture for a perfect cup of morning coffee, or evening beverage. Just listening to the creek and birds will make it hard to ever leave. Wait till you hang out on the on the swing, you will love it!!! Brand new posturepedic pillow top mattress, with 1000 thread count linens, with a lofty down-like comforter with Duvet cover invites you for a luxuriously restful sleep. The brand new convertible sofa will provide additional sleeping if you decide to bring the little ones. Steinhatchee Landing Development is an amazing 30 acre preserve with a full time staff of groundskeepers that ensure that everything remains beautiful. With weddings a commonplace, the onsite Chapel, and Koi ponds provide some amazing photograpy moments. Park your boat right at the community dock, light a fire at one of the firepits by the river, or just relax on one of the rocking chairs at the waters edge. Also feel free to use the community pool and indoor spa and sauna to enhance your Heron's Retreat experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed the few days we stayed here. Very well appointed home. Great for an anniversary or other romantic getaway. Only couple minor issues we had were the directions - needs to include the street name that you turn onto from 51 (Cedar Street) as the sign that is referenced has changed an no longer advertised the festival. Also there was no warning about the water that collects on side of tub and flows toward fireplace when using shower. We had to put towels there to catch it. These were minor issues and did NOT negatively impact our stay at all. The wine and bath products left for us - all defitinitely a plus!!👍🏻 Bed is very comfortable. Loved the fireplace. Would definitely recommend and stay again if we are in the area again.

I am not one to write reviews however I had to write one for this amazing property and hosts. First the cottage was everything we could dream for, amazing fire place, romantic spa for two, and peaceful dreamy back porch. The owners had snacks, and wine available if needed. They also stocked the bath area with bath bombs, bubbles, and Epsom salts! We enjoyed the landings peaceful atmosphere, we had a little fire, ride our bikes, went to the pool hot tub, played ping pong, basketball, pet the goats and enjoyed some drinks in the rocking chairs on the water. I also wanted to mention I saw in a previous review that the bath tub only filled 1/3 full of hot water… however in the instructions it said to fill 1/2 way with hot water which is plenty with the bubbles and then add more hot water as the heater recouped this worked perfectly for us and we were never short of water.. we will be back again!!!!
