About this house rental
Situated in Emerald Isle, this attractive house for $375 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This sweet beach cottage is just steps away from the beach and in our opinion, on the best part of the island! We think you'll love this house just as much as we do! It’s bright, sunny and filled with everything you’ll need to make you feel comfortable. Fresh bedding and towels are provided and new cleaning protocols are in effect! Emerald Isle is one of our favorite places in the whole world! And this house is so close to the beach and in such a safe, quaint, quiet neighborhood. We knew this was a house where we could build many family memories and we hope you will too! You can enjoy the soothing sound of ocean waves from one of two decks all day long. It's so convenient to everything too! It's less than a 3 minute walk to the beach, close to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and many other attractions. The EI bike path leads directly to our neighborhood and you can bike just about everywhere! There's a newly renovated playground for the kids in our neighborhood just down the block. We've even stocked the closet with games and books, and the kitchen has everything you'll need to feel at home. For your peace of mind, we also have an AWESOME property assistant nearby should any problems arise during your stay. (This is a NON-SMOKING AND NO PETS house.) We also like to let our guests know that by booking with us you are helping to alleviate human trafficking around the world. We will donate 10% of our profits to help serve suffering people in need through an organization called International Justice Mission. This is a great organization - please check it out! The beach was ACCESSIBLE! Perfect yellow flags all week and not crowded at all. It was a quick drive to all local shops and grocery stores. Highly recommend Lazarra’s pizza and Village Ice Cream, about a half mile away. Cute new park for kids at the end of the neighborhood.

This was a great family vacation. The house is located near a dead end road, so there’s very little through traffic. This made for a short, safe walk to the beach. Beach access was across a nice boardwalk. The owner of the house was super responsive! Thanks for a great experience!

We visited EI for the first time and stayed at Kara’s place which was prime location to beach and restaurants. Any questions or issues we had, Kara was super responsive. House has almost everything we needed with the exception of some household items (extra trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper) which was completely fine and easy to purchase with three nearby grocery stores.

"Summer Joy" was perfect for our family. The walk to the beach was a three minute walk and the beach was beautiful. Very peaceful! The house was clean as a whistle and stocked very well. Everything you may need is within a three minute drive. We were sad to leave but hopefully will be back next summer.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is as shown and walking distance to the beach. The walking/bike path was close by and we took advantage of this every morning. Beds were comfortable and A/C worked perfectly. Very hot and humid week but windy on the beach, so felt cooler there. Kids enjoyed the water park and the aquarium. We ate in most nights. Publix is close by. Go to Cap'n Willis for freshest seafood to cook. Went to Caribsea one night, expensive but very good. Also the food trucks that park by the water park are excellent for lunch!
We had 8 people in the house, had plenty of room and felt at home. We took advantage of the game closet and played Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble. Thanks to our hosts and especially Kara, who was really helpful answering questions.

Great Stay
We enjoyed our stay at Summer Joy! Perfect house for our group (adult and teenagers) and close walk to the beach. Great experience - the kitchen was well stocked, house was clean, they provided linens and bath towels. The owner/manager were very responsive to any questions. Highly recommend!

Beach Relief
We had a wonderful, restful time at Summer Joy. The house was perfectly organized, and having a functional, well-equipped kitchen was especially key since we did not go out to eat at all and ordered food only a few times due to the pandemic situation. We loved the layout of the house -- the open plan upstairs, the furniture, the bedrooms, the decks. We recommend this home without any reservations. And of course, the beach was indeed a short walk away. We feel fortunate to have such a lovely visit; even Hurricane Isaias steered well enough clear:) Thank you to the hosts!

Wonderful Home Close to Beach Access
This was our first stay on Emerald Isle. Our family agreed that we found a new favorite beach! It is quiet and very family friendly. The house was everything the listing describes. Bedding was comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. The first day walking back from the beach we had three deer cross the road in front of the house which was awesome! Not what you expect to see at the beach. One of the beach access points was being replaced during our week. That was not a problem as the second beach access is only one further; both are a very short walk. All in all this was our families favorite beach and rental, and we've stayed at a NC beach every summer the past ten years. Can't wait to come back.

Comfortable and Relaxing
Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summer Joy! The street was quiet and a very easy walk to the beach. The location on the beach was spectacular with very few people. (even for the week of the 4th of july) Kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfortable! They brought us a new toaster in minutes upon learning it was broken Perfect for families. We would definitely return!

Great location
We have visited Emerald Isle before, but stayed on the other end of the island. We enjoyed staying closer to the Point this time. The house was perfect for our family of 5. We could easily walk to the beach (less than 5 minutes walking slowly) with all of our gear (no steps to conquer along the way). The house is on a relatively private street and it was nice and quiet! The room configurations all worked well and the main floor of the house with the kitchen and living space had lots of natural light which we loved!

What a joy!
Thanks for having us. Great location, nice new grill and a perfect place to escape. We had terrible rain but the games and books and great WiFi made the home even homier. When the weather broke it’s a 3 min walk to a very private roomy beach. We will be back!!

Great Vacation
The overall stay and location was great. The walk to the beach is short less than 5 mins. Everything work as listed. The couple of thing I did not give it a 5 star was the TV has basic cable, the outside shower could have walls installed to shower all the sand off or used it if you have a big party.
The carpets could use a good cleaning. The living room furniture could be re arranged so you could get a better viewing of the TV from both couches.
I would book it again.

We loved Summer Joy!
There’s a lot to like about this house- it was clean, comfortable, modern, and in a great location!
We could not see the beach, but we could smell it and hear it and it was a very short walk to the public access.
The master bedroom had a good size and very comfortable bed, there was ample seating in the dining and living areas, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and appliances in good condition.
There was an outdoor shower but we were a little disappointed to find out it wasn’t an enclosed shower, but only because we love outdoor showering while we are on EI!
We think it was an excellent value and we would highly recommend it!

Sweet Vacation
This house was a joy to stay in. It fit our family perfectly. The design and layout were bright, open, and comfortable. The house was clean and well kept. We appreciated the welcome binder which offered suggestions for activities and restaurants. It gave us the confidence to try something new. The beach was a short walk and was absolutely gorgeous. It was not crowded at all. We happily used the games and puzzles provided as well. This house allowed us to slow down, relax, and enjoy time together as a family. We didn't want to leave. We had a wonderful stay at Summer Joy. The house itself is great. Very clean, bright and functional. It had everything we needed. It’s only a few minutes walk to the beach with easy beach access and very close to everything Emerald Isle has to offer. Easy to get to Swanboro as well. The owner Kara was great at communicating with us. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this property.

We we're close to beach and bike path at this beautiful home. Our family had a fun time. The house was perfect for us because it was clean, bright, comfortable. We enjoyed the huge windows and deck. We sat on deck at night and could see the stars. The outdoor shower and hose we're great to have after day at beach.

Our family had a great time!
This home was clean, well supplied, spacious and close to the beach. We enjoyed the roomy kitchen/living area and the outside shower/hose which was quite private. It was nice to have the carport area to store all of our sandy beach items out of street view. Kara was a wonderful host, answering all questions kindly and timely. She took the time to talk, when necessary, to discuss any special needs. We noticed that the beach nearest this home was much quieter and had very few people, with pristine water conditions. How nice! We would highly recommend this home and this specific location if visiting Emerald Isle!
