Situated in Iowa, this attractive bed and breakfast for $436 per night is a great option for your next break. The Fisherman’s Cabin is located on the property of Rocky Waters Vineyard & Winery Estate nestled in the properties rolling hills by the vineyards. Walk out the front door of the cabin to a 5-acre private lake with beach that’s fully stocked with Large Mouth Bass, Catfish, and Bluegill. Perfect for fishing, swimming, and canoeing. The Guest Cabin has 4 beds (sleeping up to 8 people) and three bathrooms. Main level has a master bedroom (King Size Bed) with an on-suite bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, and living/dining area. Upstairs is a loft (Queen Size Bed) with an on-suite bathroom, and lower garden with two queen beds with an on-suite bathroom as well. All bathrooms are stocked with towels for your stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Rocky Waters Fisherman’s Cabin is located not far from Elizabeth and approximately 18 miles from Historic Downtown Galena IL. There is a 2 night minimum requirement and holiday weekend stays require a 3 night minimum. Up to 3 dogs may be allowed with the approval of the property owners in order to maintain the integrity of property. A non-refundable fee of $40/night per pet. If your looking for a quiet area to unplug and unwind while enjoying the outdoor life, the Fisherman’s Cabin is truly a perfect spot to stay. During your stay, come visit the Rocky Waters Vineyard Winery Estate deck area to sample some of their award winning wines. There are also kayaks & fishing poles available for rent. 4-wheel drive or AWD is recommended especially during winter months as cabin is down in valley of property.

We stayed with a group of friends and our pups and had an amazing time. The cabin is so cozy and inviting. We had a fire going and didn’t turn the tv on once. The vineyard is beautiful to walk through and the winery has a cozy lodge feeling and the friendliest staff. We had the pleasure of waking up to the first snow of the season and it was breathtaking over the lake. Highly recommend this home for a getaway from all of the noise of the city. Kyle couldn’t have been nicer and we are so grateful for his hospitality. Will definitely be back!

Perfect place if you want to get away from it all with little to no cell service and just enjoy those around you! My friends and I decided to stay here celebrating my wife's 30th birthday and we could not have been happier. The private pond is great for fishing and relaxing. The steep slope driveway makes you feel like you're transporting to another place in time! My friends and I have already considered planning another trip here next year with additional day of stay.

My family and I (group of 9) and our fur babies recently stayed here for 4 days/3 nights. The location is breath taking! You see nature at its best!
The cabin was clean, and very cute! A tad bit small for my group (we have 3 tall, fit young adults, too big for bunks) but it would be ideal for smaller groups. It is stocked with plenty of dishes and they start you off with the rest so you'll need to bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, condiments, etc.
The water/sandy area are very nice! We brought an oversized float and spent a lot of time in it on the water! which worked for us because there are 3 portable lounge chairs you can use and we would have needed more. I would also recommend having seating by the fire pit!
We went up to the winery (sits at the top from the cabin) and tasted some delicious wine! Highly recommend you bring an all wheel drive vehicle, we had one that wasn't and it was rough getting out and going up that very steep hill!

Omg we had so much fun. The lake is fun for everyone. We fished, swam, took the canoe and paddle boat out several times. The cabin was well stocked. The kids loved the whirlpool bath. Having three bathrooms was wonderful. They do have wi-fi tv, even tho we were so busy we rarely used it. We really enjoyed the porch area. I’m sure we will be back. My daughter and I even snuck away to do a wine tasting!

The cabin is absolutely gorgeous. Note that the queen loft and basement bedrooms both lack doors (though the basement bedroom has the benefit of being downstairs and therefore a bit more private). The queen loft is right above the main congregating areas (kitchen/living room) and doesn’t have a door or wall, so if you’re staying with multiple couples, it’s something to be aware of. The driveway is QUITE steep, as noted in the listing - our friends with a van had issues getting back up - but the two of us with SUVs were fine. It’s a solid 30 minutes to any real grocery or convenience store, so pack accordingly! Great fishing in the lake as well.

The property looks just like the photos. Great porch with gorgeous views of the little lake. Descent swimming. It is a murky near the shore but clearer off the other side of the floating dock. The lake is fairly small (the wide-angle photo captures its entirety), so, unless you're fishing, it will only take a minute or two to canoe or kayak around the perimeter. (The canoe oars were broken during our visit, and the kayaks cost extra.) It is a peaceful and secluded setting but the ambience is undermined by the loud music from the Vineyard Estate.
My wife and I visited for a weekend escape and largely enjoyed our time except we were absolutely massacred by bed bugs. The bites take a little while to manifest, so we did not know the cause of the itchiness until welts started appearing when we were on our way home. We tried to raise discreetly with the owners, and they hit us with the trifecta of how dare you undermine small business owners, why didn't you come to the house and show us in person, and you were obviously attacked by gnats. They then pushed us to VRBO and cut off communication.
As mid-westerners, we are quite familiar with mosquitos and gnats. I had bites in places that were well-covered with clothing, and the pattern--clusters and zig-zagged lines--were the mark of bed bugs. The scars are only fading now, close to three weeks later. I am sure they will have the place properly cleaned, but their response and lack of accountability was disappointing.

We had an absolute refreshing time at this cabin. Everything was as listed, but the extra touches were everything. The seclusion was the best part. There wasn’t anyone around the place was completely ours. We enjoyed swimming in the private lake, canoeing, fishing, grilling on the charcoal grill and making a trip into town. We are only sad we didn’t get to make a trip to the winery! Next time! We would definitely stay here again.

Five of us were celebrating a special birthday and the cabin couldn't have been any better. In fact, the property exceeded our expectations. Didn't hurt matters that one of the guys pulled in a couple of 7# bass from their private lake. The place was very clean and comfortable for the five of us as the host, Kyle couldn't have been nicer. One blustery afternoon we trekked up the hill to the Rocky Waters Winery to enjoy a very informative tasting of their treasures. Even left with a few bottles. What a bonus for us! Cannot wait for the opportunity to visit again.

We were looking for a place to unwind and enjoy the fall colors. This cabin was perfect in so many ways. Great owners and check in process at the wine tasting room. The lake was beautiful and kids enjoyed canoeing and paddle boating. The kitchen is well stocked and the front gates porch was perfect for our dog! All in all a great trip and a wonderful cabin near Galena.

This is our second time reserving Rocky Waters as a group of girlfriends and it was just as lovely this time around. The cabin is cozy and very cute. The location is just beautiful on the pond. Even though the weather was a bit chillier than we anticipated we still got to swim in the pond and take out the canoe and paddleboat and make a fire out by the lake to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. It's a lovely, private location for our group and we had a great time chatting and laughing and looking at the stars. Just a heads up - we did see a big snapping turtle also enjoying the sun after we got out of the water - so I encourage you to wear your water shoes!

Great time with our family with perfect weather!
The stairs up to the front door are pretty steep, as well as the hill down to the beach/lake area, so just be aware of that if you have older people in your group.

Check in was a breeze! Kyle was extremely
helpful and answered any and all questions, and made everything very comfortable! Driveway was very doable, and I had no trouble in my Honda CR-V! Bring your groceries with you, as the closest grocery store is around 25 minutes. However, there’s a gas station very nearby that sells some necessities. Property was beautiful, and exactly what we needed for 10 friends. We spent most of our time outside on the beautiful deck and down by the water, where there’s a raft, paddle boat, other water toys, and a fire pit! The grill was great to have as well! Only area that could have been better was indoor seating. There’s not much space in the living room, so be prepared to gather outside if you have a larger group. This was no problem as there were no mosquitos! Highly reccomend staying in this secluded cabin!

Our family of 5 adults and dogs thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights in the fisherman’s cabin. It was an excellent place to unwind and unplug. We spent our time on the deck or in the water. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed running and swimming. We hope to come back!

Our whole family (10) stayed at Fisherman’s Cabin. The lake was great and the kids loved the paddle boat and canoe. Cabin itself was nice, no dining area really for all of us to sit together. The steps to the cabin and the hill to the lake might be a problem for anyone with ambulatory issues because they are steep, but it was no problem for us, even the 6 year old did fine. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, it was wonderful place!

Perfect and private
This was by far one of the best VRBO places we've been to. We had 5 adults and two kids and there was space for everyone. The kitchen had everything we needed. The best part was how private the cabin was. We had the pond and the cabin all to ourselves. We fished, swam and played with the kayaks & canoes that were provided. Our host Kyle was

Traveled with family and neighbors. The property was beautiful and peaceful! The pond was lovely and we enjoyed fishing, swimming, and kayaking. The kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfortable, and the overall layout of the home was great. A close drive to Galena which was also enjoyable.

Perfect getaway
My family had a great time at this property. Swimming and fishing on the lake. S'mores at night on the beach. Enoyed the beautiful view on the porch. Cabin was clean. Kitchen well stocked. The owner and his family were very friendly. His son was even nice enough to give us some nightcrawlers for fishing. I would not hesitate to book Kyle's property again. As stated in previous reviews, the road to the cabin is steep and AWD is recommended. Don't forget to stop by the winery and and try some wine and Frosé!

Perfect Spot
We had a wonderful stay at Rocky Waters last week and can't recommend it enough. We had looked at many other properties for our "landing zone" during our trip to Galena, Dubuque, and the Maquoketa Caves. This spot was perfect! Everything was an easy drive even the caves were only an hour away and the drive there was SO pretty. The hardest part about the whole trip was getting everyone to leave the house. It was so comfortable and the water was so fun to play in, everyone was happy to stay right there. I was nervous when we booked this place that it would feel too small for our family of 5 plus grandma and grandpa but it fit so well. There was plenty of space to be all together but still spaces to have a bit of time to yourself also. We had a blast floating and swimming in the water. It was such a perk to have the option to enjoy the water right outside the door. The cabin is so well thought out and so well stocked. I think this is the first place we have stayed that actually had a griddle and plenty of extra bedding. It was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had in awhile and I'm so thankful we stayed here. Thanks so much!

We had 10 people stay over the weekend - 4 adults and 6 kids ranging from 3 to 14. They was something to do for everyone. Very cool location, loved that it was isolated from the outside world for a weekend. The wine deom the vinyard was great! Would absolutely recommend this. We did take 3 vehivles that were not four wheel drive and made it back up the driveway alright. Definitely could see it being an issue in the winter or with heavy rains, though.
