the hotel was being remodeled most of the rooms were not rentable

Nothing went well, this was by far THE worst hotel, I've ever stayed at. It was dirty, with mold and paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom. I slept in my clothes, when I woke up in the morning there was a bug crawling across the sheet under my chin! When I requested a refund in the morning the manager refused initially but relented after I pressured him to give me a 25$ refund...After he left I asked the front desk lady if they got a lot of complaints and she said yes- clearly SHE was uncomfortable...

bathroom light didn’t work toilet ran all night

That all the appliances worked and the heating system worked, got really hot water in the bathroom.

The door bolt lock was broken, the bottom of the door rubber was gone so all the light came right thru the door, the floor leaked somewhere by the toilet when taking a shower so the floor got really wet, the noise was loud and hearing people just walk loud, the comforter had holes in it from cigarette, and the location didn’t feel like a good spot or area. Should have bigger pillows on the bed. By the bed the wall was coming apart at the bottom and looked like mold happening. The good thing I didn’t see and bed bugs.

location was fine, breakfast seemed fine (i didn’t have time to eat). no bugs.

no hair dryer in room, wifi information not given at checkin, no usb charging ports in room (not a deal breaker but a common amenity in 2023!), bathroom was clean but visibly damaged with broken tiles, water damage on ceiling, and huge chips in tub, parking lot and general outside was dirty and damaged, walls were paper thin, door did not close or lock properly. as a single woman traveling alone this last one is really not okay!!

The room was rather dirty and begged asking if it had been cleaned before our stay. The floors were sticky, furniture dusty, blankets had cigarette burns and we even found a mummified apple core. 2/5 star stay. 0 sound proofing, obsolete equipment and unsatisfactory cleanliness. We were also unfortunate enough to have the smell of weed smoke seep through the door.
