Sadly, not much

The wall heating unit blew cold air all night long even after calling staff to let them know there was something wrong with the unit. Was told "just give it some time it will heat up" -- Yeah, never happened. Then a frantic phone call from the front desk at 4:00am asking me if I lost my son. After I told them "no I didn't" they proceeded to ask again "you don't have a son!?!?" and only after I told then again "nope" did they apologize for calling me at 4am. At check-out the staff member tried to explain to me that she had no choice but to call me. All which made me feel like I was in THE F!@#EN TWILIGHT ZONE with weird phone calls and cold air blowing all night long. Needless to say, never again.

the room needed better cleaning --- the bathroom floor was filthy !! they had a kitcenette in the lobby but no coffee etc.

The proximity to my destination

Dirty, smells like ethnic food, rooms are subpar, some of clientele are questionable. Feels unsafe due to exit door locks broken and/propped open. Grounds are filthy as well, opened my car door to a used condom on the parking lot. The list goes on.

The location in proximity to Lake Michigan - specifically Port Washington - is great. If you cleanup the hotel and stop taking vouchers, you could advertise and attract people taking charters on the lake. There is a serious shortage of motels in the area.

The hotel was dirty There are "permanant" residents living there who hang out in front of the hotel smoking and cooking out. There is garbage everywhere and the whole hotel smelled of different food cooking in the rooms. Also the smell of marijuana was everywhere in the halls. There are open electrical outlets sticking up out of the floor in the lobby carpet that I almost tripped on. We had to get a room change because the first room had dirty sheets on the bed. There was a big brown stain near the head of the bed on the sheet. When we asked to be moved, they offered to change the sheets real quick, but we declined. They put us in another room with a king size bed and wanted us to then pay extra for it. We argued that and they did not charge us in the end. The sheets were pilled up and had lint on them and were not smooth to the touch. The curtains were broken on each end, the bathroom ceiling had clear water damage bulging the paint and what looked like mold starting to form. The vinyl in the bathroom was torn. Realizing we did not pay much, we did not expect any grand stay, but I would still expect a safe and clean place to spend the night.

No meals, but fast food nearby. Semi-trailer parking is available. Quiet. Good access to I-43 & Hwy 33. Staff was helpful but did not impress me as liking their jobs. It is being remodeled, slowly.

When I arrived my room had pizza leftovers and soda bottles in the room. 5-4-23 Trash not emptied and soap in bathroom was used. A very strong smell permeated the room. Took a couple days to clear it. Very dark. No floor lamps. Only one beside light worked.This is not what my experiences in the past have been. Something is not happening. Lazy management. No elevator. Heavy bags go up stairs.
