Great place, will definitely be back.

Love this motel. This is our second stay and will probably do so again. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Owners are very friendly and go out of the way to make you stay amazing. Love the way it’s decorated as well.

Great stay and great value for the price

This is a great metro motel close by casino and the rooms are spotless. a very relaxing and quiet stay. A hidden gem in Murphy.

Good old fashioned (retro) motel - clean, friendly reception

very clean; housekeeping came in & made bed, replaced towels, replaced complimentary breakfast basket. We were only there for 2 nights

water pressure could have been better--but no real problem limited check in-out times

AMAZING 70's VIBE WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

THE SUNSET MOTEL IS AN ABSOLUTE HIDDEN GEM! SKIP THE HIGH PRICED "others"! This place is a 7 minute walk right up the hill to everything cool in downtown Murphy! There's a highly rated (but expensive) steakhouse, The Chop House, which is a 2-minute walk across the street. We stayed here at the Sunset Motel for New Years (2022-2023) to see our favorite band, BLISTUR, at Chevelle's!!!! (We drove from Orange Park, Florida TO WATCH THESE GUYS ROCK!) Terry was absolutely accommodating and super nice at check in. I talked to some locals about how cool this place is and they said they've heard great things about the renovation here..... And it's true! The walls have record album covers, classic cars pictures, and a peace sign right over the bed! The bed was so incredibly comfortable! We stayed in room 15. The TV was awesome and received so many channels! Air conditioning worked perfectly. The room was clean! You know you're welcome when you have cute, plastic pink flamingos right out front of your room, where you have your own individual parking spot. Even though they don't serve breakfast, there was an awesome little breakfast basket in the room complete with fruit and granola bars! The place seems remodeled with a 70s vibe. There's even a screened in porch where you can lounge around and read books. Also, there's an outdoor fire pit. During warmer weather, there are bicycles available for exploring! Again, you will not be disappointed with this stay here at the Sunset Hotel!

Great Motel; will definitely be back!

It was so cute, decor was a “retro look”. Staff were great, girl at front desk very nice. Motel location was great, we walked to town, with many restaurants to choose from. Breakfast basket was a great idea!

Convenient but not very comfortable

Location is convenient to the town and the river walk

I guess it depends on expectations. Uncomfortable plastic chairs not good for sitting around in the room. A very noisy under-window air conditioner. It’s basically a cleaned up 60’s roadside motel - nothing more,

Great little place to stay for single travelers.

The breakfast basket was a unique treat with good food options. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Location was perfect for walking around downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Neighbors in other rooms were loud outside the door/window. And although the hotel was non-smoking in the rooms, that didn’t seem to stop people from smoking in the screen porch area or close by.

Great anniversary!

Everything about our stay was Great! The staff made us feel like family and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

The only thingbwe didn't like, was that we couldn't stay longer!

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.

THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. LOVED THE BREAKFAST BASKET. VERY QUIET. VERY COMFORTABLE. PARKING SPACES WERE CLEARLY MARKED THAT MATCHED YOUR ROOM NUMBER SO NO PARKING QUESTION.

FOR THIS STAY I WAS VERY PLEASED AND IMPRESSED. IF IT IS NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT.THE NEXT TIME I AM IN THAT AREA I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN. NO NEED TO SHOP AROUND WHEN THIS IS A CLEAN QUIET PLACE.

I came I went to the casino and I left.

The room was really clean. The bed was really comfortable.I think it’s a good value for the money.

It is a nice place to sleep and get up the next morning and brush your teeth but that’s about all.

What a Delightful Place!

This is an adorable motel, with rooms decorated in 60’s style. It was super-clean and cozy, and we immediately felt like it was our home away from home! We’ll always try to stay here when in Murphy. We also really loved the breakfast basket & the fact that we had cleaning service without even asking.
