About this bed and breakfast
Nestled in Wisconsin, this lovely bed and breakfast for $135 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. The Knapp Creek Guest House is located right on Knapp Creek, in a valley setting with easy access to Knapp Creek, or go two miles down the road to the West Fork of the Kickapoo River, one of the best Class I trout streams in the Driftless Region. The Knapp Creek Guest House is approximately ten years old, with beautiful interior finishes, and includes all the amenities. It sits on scenic Knapp Creek Farm, where guests will see the exotic chickens pecking in the yard, visit the friendly barn cats, Patches and Rusty, or make a pizza in the wood-fired oven in the covered pavilion.There is also a barn where guests may chose to board their horses between taking them to the Kickapoo Reserve, with its 37 miles of trails, or to Wildcat Mountain State Park, with its 15 miles of trails to ride. The barn has a two-section pen and breezeway, as well as an outdoor corral, with a watering tank, and can accommodate up to four horses. Other guests may choose to bicycle the local roads and enjoy the natural scenery that the Driftless Region is becoming well-known for providing. The Knapp Valley Farm is located in a long valley with beautiful views to the east and west, and Knapp Creek running along the length of the property.

All you could want in a guest house located off a country road in a beautiful valley set in Wisconsin's driftless area. Extremely well maintained by the ownership with everything you need for a wonderful few days. We will definitely be returning.

My daughter and I came to the Driftless to fly Fish and explore... And this was the PERFECT place to stay! Clean, comfortable and an amazing (and beautiful!) location. Hosts were awesome, and the two outdoor cats who hung around were delightful. 12/10 on this listing. We will be back!!!

Knapp Creek Guest House was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy a quiet weekend. We loved the property including the creek, open landscape, and overall scenery. The guest house was immaculate and everything was provided for that is needed for travelers. Rick and Janie were delightful and we enjoyed visiting with them under the pavilion into the evening. It's always nice to stay at a place where the hosts are down-to-earth and friendly. We have two dogs that are 13 and 3 and they had the time of their lives. The only thing I would caution about is that our 13-year-old has arthritis and difficulty with mobility and she struggled with going up and down the stairs. We knew this would be an issue before we went so we were prepared to help her up and down with a "sling." It's just something to be prepared for if your dog has an issue with stairs. The area is gorgeous and worth driving around and stopping to shop the bakeries and crafts of the local Amish artisans. We will definitely be back!

We were looking for a quiet and out of the way location for a quick summer getaway and this place crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's.
If you too are looking for a nice little spot in which to get away from it all, relax in nature and solitude – this is the place!
The space itself is comfortable and comes well equipped with all of the basics you will need. The hosts have thoughtfully provided pantry staples, kitchen basics, linens, and attractive and comfortable furnishings.
The farm is located about 10 minutes outside of a small town, down some winding roads where you can pick up basic groceries. A Walmart and an upscale coop are 20 mintues away for those needing more.
Rick and his wife were lovely hosts to us and our senior dogs. The dogs loved the expansive space and frequent walks with plenty to see and sniff, though we're not sure if the hens and sheep were as excited to see them.
Birders will definitely enjoy this spot also. We identified many numerous species during our stay. It looks like a good spot to visit during migrations.
A genuinely great place to visit. We hope to come back again in the future.

If you’re looking for beautiful quiet valley stay, this is it. Birds singing, farm surrounded by natural beauty. There are steps so need to be able to go up and down. Otherwise very comfortable. Loved our stay.

We were pleasantly surprised with the surroundings of the cabin and how peaceful our overall stay was throughout our entire weekend get away. The only noise we ever heard was the sound of the birds singing throughout the day and night. The hosts could’ve been more helpful with dining advice and friendly conversation. The cabin was located on beautiful and extremely well maintained property. It was quaint, comfortable and very well cared for. We would highly recommend anyone to stay at this property as a getaway.

This peaceful, lovely farm offers its guests views of a green hillside and grazing animals, the mesmerizing applause of a running stream in the yard, and a sky full of stars at night. The guest house is charming and comfortable, with everything you need to feel at home. The hosts are wonderful people, too!

We absolutely loved our time at Rick and Janie’s guest house! The scenery was incredible and listening to the babble of Knapp Creek just added a little more relaxation to our weekend getaway. Our dogs loved the property as well. We hope to book this location again or one of the other locations owned by Rick and Janie. If you are looking for a place that not only offers peace and tranquility but the opportunity to get out and enjoy nature in a prime location in the Driftless area we recommend The Guest House.

The only things that I can say negative about this property was that all of the trails around it were closed and that it was right on top of the owners home. I could literally see in their house, if I opened the blinds.
We were really looking forward to being able to do some hiking and staying on a property with complete seclusion. We had to leave to do some hiking at a not so near by county park. Although the property was SUPER close to the owners, they kept to themselves, as did we.
Other than that, the space itself was exactly as advertised!! It was a great get away.

The guest house was beautiful and the location was perfect. The guest house contained everything thing we needed and more. Loved hearing the “clip clop” as Amish buggies drove by. Also loved the resident greeters, Rusty and Patches. Would definitely come again.

We were in the area for a stressful activity - house hunting - but this little VRBO gave us the exact rest and relaxation we needed after days of touring homes.
Being greeted by the barn kittens, to the warm fireplace. and the cozy bed. And then the sun rising on the farm and seeing the sheep first thing in the morning.

This property is beautiful! It was centrally located to everything we wanted to experience during our stay. Everything we needed was in the house to be able to cook meals. It was comfortable and quiet. Loved being able to walk around the farm and check out all the animals too! The property has amazing views and the host is great with communication and was very kind when we spoke! Will visit again someday.

Can’t go wrong with place to get away from it all. Took my chocolate lab puppy who loved playing in the creek right outside the loft. Even though it rained a couple days we were able to enjoy a winery and some fabulous local restaurants. Place was immaculate and we loved it! Thanks for having us!

We loved staying at this property! Everything was as advertised — it was peaceful and beautiful. For older adults, there are steps to get to the apartment. Our only issue was the position of the bed in the bedroom. Set against the dormer roof line, and only inches from the wall, it was difficult to get in and out of, so one of us had to sleep on the sofa bed. Maybe a rearrangement of the furniture might help? Otherwise, this is a real gem!

We had an amazing stay! The property is wonderful and it’s not too far from a bunch of restaurants and bars! It was a fun stay and the dogs absolutely loved running around and playing in the stream. We’ll definitely try to make a trip back up. It was awesome.
