About this house rental

A duplex near 2 parks & the Boise River Greenbelt in a modest, diverse neighborhood. We live next door! ~5 min walk to restaurants, bar, & stores. We're on a quiet street ~3 miles to downtown, on bus route + an easy trip to the freeway. Sleeps up to 6 in king, twin, & bunk beds (full +twin). Kitchen & bathroom have basic tools, appliances, condiments, & toiletries. Small tables (2 seat + 4 seat). Kid-friendly but no kid-proofing or crib. Good-dog friendly (other dogs have been here). No CATS! This space is one-half of a duplex, featuring a kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, an office/dining area, and 1 bathroom. We live in the other half of the duplex. and we welcome you, your kids*, and your trained and supervised dogs**! *kid-friendly with some fun kid stuff but the house is not considered "child-safe” or “child-proofed." I have no crib and there aren’t cupboard locks or stair blockers etc. **dogs only, no cats. Please read all house rules about dogs and tell me if you're bringing a dog(s) and assure me you will follow the rules. These are: Well behaved and house-trained DOGS are welcome and that is a perk! Cats are not allowed as cat pee on the carpet is just a risk I cannot take. - If you bring your dog(s), DO NOT LET THEM PEE OR POO INSIDE. Security deposits will be charged for carpet cleaning. - DO NOT leave them alone in the house if they will bark or damage things. - DO NOT allow dogs on the carpet in the bedroom unless you are absolutely certain they will not damage the carpet (pee, scratching, too much hair, etc.). - Regarding dogs on furniture, DO NOT allow them on the couches unless you have a blanket or something down. The dog hair is so hard to clean up and I don’t want fingernail scratches. - I understand that some people let their dogs sleep with them. I get it. If this is you, use your own dog bedding or an extra sheet (there are some on the shelf) for them because it takes me forever to clean dog hair out of the comforters. - Put all pet waste in the trash can out FRONT (do not leave it outside or in bags for me to clean up). - If they play outside, do not let them damage the landscaping. - If they shed, please do a sweep up of their hair before you leave. - Essentially, help future guests by not making me regret allowing pets. The kitchen and bathroom have some basic supplies! The front yard vibe is organized chaos - it's a water-wise, natural, edible, and semi-wild landscape (not a manicured lawn)! I love to garden and my wildflower meadow changes with the seasons (meaning the spring won’t look like the late summer or winter)! Insults to my garden really hurt my feelings :) The backyard is fenced in and shared b/w both sides. Note that the brick walkway to the front door is old and cobbly, there are 3 steps to get up, and there are no handrails on the front step. The back steps to the backyard have a handrail. Once you're inside, there are no stairs. We're close to many food and entertainment options yet nestled in a low-traffic and mixed-income neighborhood with plenty of parking spaces! My neighborhood is mostly medium-to-low income. This is not a fancy subdivision or a luxury listing. My goal is to help other medium to low-income people on their journeys by keeping it practical and affordable. I can’t control any tackiness at other people's houses and I don't tend anyone else's front yards. :) Some people have said some pretty mean things about my neighborhood and therefore my neighbors, so please don't book here if you are supercritical about appearances or people doing people things or you're looking for a super fancy place. You'll have private access to the full left side of the duplex, plus you can go into the shared front and back yards. You might see me especially when the weather is nice as I work outside a lot. There is 1-2 driveway spaces and multiple on-street parking spaces right out front. You're more than welcome to gently cruise through the garden space and look around; ask and we'll let you know what is in season that you can eat! Other things to note This is a family neighborhood and my neighbors are fairly active playing outside and living their lives. Please be friendly while sharing our space :) Most of my neighbors have kids and dogs as well . . . meaning it isn't always serene from a noise perspective.
