About this house rental

Wake up and take your coffee out to relax on the same veranda that (the "unsinkable") Molly Brown enjoyed when visiting her sister while watching the mighty Mississippi roll by. The home was built in 1844 by the first Judge in the territory; Molly was headed to this house when the Titanic sank. Kathy Bates played the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown in the movie "Titanic." Enjoy the original hardwood floors in the dining room, marked by embers of fires used to cook countless family meals above the hearth. Walk to all the downtown attractions, nightlife, and festivals. You are close enough to hear the calliope music from the Mark Twain Riverboat! Not a history buff? Enjoy the simplicity of old, coupled with wholly refreshed modern conveniences - ready for extended stays if you are in town for longer periods – a weekend, a month, or more! Evidence of damage due to significant construction materials, abrasives, or fabric, e.g., excessive mud, sheetrock dust, concrete dust, asphalt, shingle particles, cement, tar, oil or other materials that cause excessive wear, scratches, or cleaning of floors or carpet are subject to a $500 additional cleaning/ remediation fee. Unfortunately, due to damage from past guests, we remind that this home may not be appropriate for groups who do not exercise moderate levels of self-cleaning during their stay. I am available from 8 am through around 9 pm 7 days a week. I do my best to respond within minutes. Occasionally, it takes longer.

Thank you to the excellent hosts and others who maintain the property! Molly's Riverview Retreat was a very lovely place to stay for a long weekend with my two sisters. We enjoyed the history of the home along with the modern conveniences (even electric fireplaces in the 2 upstairs bedrooms). The beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the high-quality bedding and towels. The kitchen was well-stocked, though we only had breakfast and snacks there. We enjoyed sitting outside on on the covered porch also. The whole house was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully put together for guests to have whatever they might need. It was a great experience and we highly recommend this property!

Beautiful property! The history of the house was very interesting. Great location close to town, very accessible but also a little off the beaten path so it is easy to rest. Great stay!
