The exterior of property was very cluttered, cleaning up old debris about house would help, adding more gravel on parking would help keep sand out of house. The dining room light didn't have a bulb and extra left in house didn't fit. Living room rug should be replaced, it looked very warn and dirty. Locations was great and quite, not sure what it would have been like if other house had occupants. House has lots of cooking and kitchen supplies.

The house itself is older but well maintained inside. The outside needs attention. Lots of broken furniture in the yard and appeared things had not been picked up after the last storm. The views are absolutely amazing, the location is great. We enjoyed our short stay and would definitely return.

This house was adorable! Loved the dock right off the back deck and the short walk down the private drive over to the beach was great! No need to fight for a parking spot when going to the beach! Don't forget to check out the lighthouse!

We loved our stay! The house was charming and very clean and the location is unbeatable. Coffee on the end of the private long dock out in the marsh each morning is a memory my family will have forever.

If you are a fan of classic beach houses, beautiful sunsets on the water, and peaceful vacation spots this rental is for you. Island House at the Fort is a very cozy comfortable place to stay. We especially liked the 4 season porch off of the master bedroom. The view of the river and marsh was a bonus for relaxing as we had coffee in the morning or reading a good book. We were able to bring our Scottie dogs, who enjoyed the wildlife they encountered. I’m hesitant to make too much praise because we might not be able to rent again due to everyone else filling up the calendar! Seriously, this was a nice home away from home place to vacation and we will definitely stay there again!

Let me begin with saying the views onto the marsh were beautiful worth the stay just to have that. Easy walk or drive with all the stuff to the beach. If this house was adequately maintained would be 5 stars. Lockbox was a mess, smashed garbage/litter in the yard, lights and screens on the windows hanging off, overgrown bushes, beach paraphernalia just thrown around by the front door. Now for the inside, toilet not secure(someone else said that and never addressed)mattresses awful, light over kitchen table not working, minisplit ac was loud trying to sleep. Other reviews had listed some of these same concerns for months Vacasa told me the issues had been corrected, wrong. Other then all of this loved Folly Beach.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING sunsets, and so close to the beach you can enjoy the surf night or day. I reserved this spot for my daughters birthday and it was wonderful. We had a blast at the beach! Waking up for sunrise walks and splashing in the surf. At night after dinner we would walk the beach and marvel at the gorgeous sunsets. The beach is even more incredible at night during the full moon. The property was cozy, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook a delicious meal. The a/c had a slight problem at the beginning, but someone came out quickly and set up portable a/c units and the temps were definitely manageable. Some aspects of the outside property are a little rough, but it didn't affect our stay at all. There is a cool pier out back that you can walk and watch the crabs and fish splash about. I loved my time here and would come back without hesitation. If your goal is a great time at the beach, this property delivers big time. Stunning views and so close to the beach you almost never have to leave the surf and the sand!

Dry wall Tape was coming down in the living room, living room TV did not work right, Toilet was loose and moving around, shingles and nails on the back porch, one grill between 2 houses, mold. On ceilings and window seals

The house needs some maintenance work completed. We had the window above the sink fall out when trying to shut the lever down. Only tried to do that because wind was whistling threw. House could use some updating to furnishings. Our bed was comfortable. I would have really loved to utilize the location, but the weather didn't really cooperate when we had our stay planned. You can see the lighthouse from the back deck.

The view of the marsh and the access to the beach are special. In fact, the beach has hardly a soul on it in the middle of the week in mid-December. The accommodation has a spacious great-room, decent size bedrooms, and a small bathroom. The furniture and feel of the house is a bit dated/tired, but the location is superb. Never could get the TV in the large bedroom to work and the TV in the great room was tricky to figure out for an old man like me, but that probably wouldn't affect the more technologically savy. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. My wife would prefer something more upscale.

Great location. Some attention needs to be paid to the home due to broken screens, discarded lumber, broken chairs etc just discarded outside of home. Lights over kitchen table non working. Front and back doors difficult to close. Deck has some very soft spots, may cause an injury if not careful. Dehumidifier in front room pulled out of window with gap in window wide open upon our arrival. Freezer has iced up and did not maintain a cold area for our frozen foods. The dog next door left us a pile every day at the front stoop . Views were terrific and location nice.

When we walked up we got ambushed by mosquitos because the bushes up front were not trimmed. Most all lights were lamps on a switch so in the living room you can see there are lights on the ceiling but we called the company managing the property and they said some one would reach out or come by to help and never did. The AC did not work fortunately there was cold front and we could open the windows the majority of the time the weather outside was cooler than inside the house. Then the day before we left we woke up to people walking around the house and one guy even took a picture of it. We finally went out side and found out they were maintenence the didn't think anyone was there.

The house is in a great location. Unfortunately, I don't think the owner is in touch with his property. It could be such a great rental property. For as much as we paid, it's these little things that make a rental a good value versus "not worth it". We were only there for 4 nights but the following are a few of the things we noticed: 1. The lockbox is ancient and took us a good 20 minutes to get in 2. Outside trash can was full when we checked in. There was no instruction as to when the trash would be picked up. When we left, I placed trash on top of an already full can. 3. Floor tile is cracked in numerous locations 4. (Small thing but important) No coffee pods. Even Motel 6 provides a few pods for a Keurig 5. The master bedroom TV didn't work. The electric outlet is dead. We purchased an extension cord and got power but still couldn't get it to work. (Really need better instructions) 6. Mattress in Master Bedroom is about shot. Can feel the subframe, springs, etc through the mattress. 7. The bathtub doesn't drain. By the time you finish a shower, you are standing in 6 inches of water 8. Kitchen sink had a hole in it. Doing dishes when the floor was full of soapy water. Again, could be a great property. Not trying to tell anyone how to manage their property but maybe a little attention to detail and invest back into the property
