The club Contenental is primarily concerned with weddings, couples, and above all club members so if you are in any other category you probably wanna go somewhere else. I think they have the assumption that a solo traveler would not be willing to pay for fine dining etc, and so it's almost as if they want you out of the way in the river house. Yet this iscthe whole reason I came. I love historic homes and wanted something nice, but when I was basically discouraged from making dinner reservations there, the surrounding area of Orange park is so run down until it was almost impossible to find any decent food to eat during my stay. I was kind of checking the place out to see if I would like to book multiple rooms for a large extended family trip near Christmas, as my mother can be quite particular in where she will stay. U will definitely look elsewhere. Savanah, GA

A heritage property that has been upgraded to more modern standards. The room ( river suite 203) was large with a mixture of antique and modern furniture. The bed was large with great linens. The kitchenette included a microwave and coffemaker. The bathroom had a very large tub and separate shower. Lovely balconey with a great view of the river and bridge. There is no need in this antiplastic age to use plastic cups.
There is a continental breakfast served complimentary . You need to ask for tea and on the second day, omelet was offered but not on the first day. There was no dining on either Sunday or Monday night.
If you are traveling south, the location is good for getting on I95 south but the location is a good 40 minutes from the airport, 30 from downtown and 60 plus from Amelia Island.

I have to tell you this is one of the very few properties we have stayed it and say "I could live here". It is an amazing place to stay. We loved the setting and the River Suites were outstanding. Will be back for sure.

Loved my stay at Club Continental from the cosy room with dramatic river view, to the delicious breakfast and excellent dinners. Staff made me feel right at home. I can't wait to return.

A unique old hotel with lots of personality! The building is very old, the facilities and grounds are beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. A wedding was being held on the premises while we were there and it just added to the charm! We will definitely try to stay there another time!

The unit was dirty and smelled like mold. The entire complex is in need of cleaning, repair and updating. There is even a notice that you cannot keep a/c lower than 72 or unit will stop working!!! If you have ever been in FL, 72 degrees is not cool enough!

Just lovely! I will be back and I will always be complimentary.
However, this is an old home. Lots of maintenance and upgrades are needed. No elevator and handicapped provisions have been implemented. If you require these this may not be a place for you or your spouse. But if you don’t mind using very nice, wide steps, this is the place.
It is so quiet and peaceful and within 1/2 mile everything you could possibly need. The food - restaurant was excellent. The bedding was so comfortable.

The rooms with a terrace over the river were absolutely beautiful. High ceiling spacious rooms. Loved taking in the scenery and weather while sitting on the terrace. There is also a small bar with an outside deck on the water. Everyone was very friendly and the grounds were beautiful. Delicious breakfast. We will be staying here again.

Beautiful hidden gem in this area! Love the property and view. Staff was so friendly and the River Suite room is very spacious.

This hotel has definitely seen better days and is in desperate need of a refresh/upgrade. It must have been stunning at one time. That said, we very much enjoyed our stay. Our suite was spacious with a gorgeous view right on the river. And our dogs loved it, plenty of room to walk and run.

Property is beautiful, but the rooms definitely needs to be upgraded, carpets need to be changed, it has a old musky oder, the view of the river was also beautiful!!

Very much enjoyed our stay at Club Continental especially after delays on airlines due to thunderstorm activity. We so needed those delicious omelets the following morning!!

Is a private club but also a hotel . I was there for a wedding and just not a welcoming place ! Tried to have dinner at restaurant and I got there around 6:45 . Restaurant not busy but a large party came in after me . Hostess said me and only myself could not be sat because of the large party until 8pm so I asked about take out and was also told not until 8pm ! I could maybe see if it was a family but it was only me . Cabana lady nice , maid nice , hostess at restaurant not friendly at all , bartender at bar not friendly guy who checked me in very friendly ! Would not stay there again

Unfortunately the property is dated. Needs a lot of upgrades. Property itself is very scenic and in a good location but the rooms need serious upgrades. Its stuck in the 70's.

Unique opportunity to experience historical coastal Florida. Wonderful grounds with the centuries-old oaks, accommodating and welcoming staff, and delicious meals ... including a substantial continental breakfast. Definitely will be a repeat customer when next traveling through the area!

My river view room was better than promised. The water lapped 5 feet from my balcony! Relaxing. Great bed. Fantastic shower. Dining room right there. Unexpectedly delicious. Breakfast(included) equally tasty. I’ll be back!

We loved our stay. Loved the gardens! We had dinner and breakfast both nice. Dale in the dining room was pure joy! Wish we had another day to learn more about the gardens. In particular the vine growing on the outside of the event room. Beautiful!
