This house is in the perfect location - begin your day watching the sunrise over the majestic Atlantic Ocean and end your day at the Tim Buck II shopping center (within walking distance of the house) with great dining and shopping options. Your family will be talking about your "Sunrise" vacation home for years to come! From the comfortable furnishings, amazing ocean views, beautiful kitchen, large bedrooms, custom bathrooms and extra amenities (elevator, pool, hot tub, rec room), your every vacation wish will be met here! Top Level: Beautiful, open, great room, with breath taking ocean views and vaulted ceilings. Ocean Front Deck. Large kitchen w/ Granite Countertops, Large Island w/ 6 burner cook top, standalone ice maker, plenty of room for people to gather, help cook and take in the magnificent surroundings. Ocean Front Dining Area (8), Breakfast table (4), Bar Stools around center Island (4). Large living room with plenty of comfortable seating TV/Stereo, gas fireplace, beautiful wet bar, powder, room. Huge Ocean Front King Master Bedroom with deck access, TV, large Jacuzzi tub and walk in shower with dual shower heads. Middle Level: Large Ocean Front Den with plenty of comfortable seating and ocean front deck. Laundry Room. Ocean Front King Master Bedroom w/ deck access TV. High Speed Wireless Internet. 6 cable TVs, 2 Stereos w/ CD players. Gas Grill. 2 Washers, 2 Dryers, 2 Full size refrigerators, Stand Alone Ice Machine. Gas Fireplace (mid-October to mid-May). Community Pool. Community Tennis. Community Playground. Bed Linens Provided (beds made prior to arrival) and bath towels provided. No smoking. Guests are no longer allowed to bring or rent golf carts in the Buck Island Community. Cancellations: If, after your initial payment, you need to cancel your reservation, every attempt will be made to re-rent the property. All notices of cancellation must be in writing. If the property is re- rented at full price, you will receive a full refund of moneys paid, less a $150 cancellation fee, travel insurance premium (if purchased) and all applicable taxes. If the property is able to be re-rented, but at a discounted rate from what was paid, you will be refunded your rental payment, less the difference in the rental rate and the $150 cancellation fee. If the property is not able to be re-rented, you will forfeit all moneys paid to this reservation.

You can't beat waking up to the sunrise every morning with a cup of coffee on the deck. The location and ease of access to the beach was great! We were happy with the cleanliness, furniture, mattresses & linens. (Though the shower towels/washcloths were a bit small and not so soft.)The house had everything we needed except we needed to buy more toilet paper, paper towels, get hand soap, counter cleaner & dish detergent. We stay in many rentals and this was the first one we had to restock necessary items at. Also if we could change one thing, it would be the chairs on the deck. If they were higher, we would be able to sit and see the ocean without the railing in sight.
Over all we had an excellent time and loved staying at the house!

Thank you for helping us enjoy a wonderful first visit to the outer banks. The location is terrific. The home was as listed. We used the community pool, tennis courts and playground. The two showers outside the home were so convenient to clean up after the beach. We paid to warm up the pool. The increase in pool temp wasn’t that much, but it made the pool nicer for our younger grand children. Adequate plates, bowls, glasses and utensils as well as pans. Grill worked fine. Guests need to come prepared to get toilet paper, paper towels, and all other supplies right at the start as the home really doesn’t have much to start out. Food Lion is very close but go early as it does sell out of some items.

Pros: Location is great. Arrival was easy. We were able to check-in early. Set up for the home would be great for families with trustworthy teenagers with the game room and bunks downstairs. Access to beach was easy and directly next to house. Beautiful home. Elevator was a nice perk when carrying groceries. There was a few beach/camp chairs and beach toys in storage. I organized it while I was there (you’re welcome ;-) ) Management was quick to respond when I sent a message about any issue we had.
Cons: House wasn’t super clean- it was clean enough. A lot of dishes needed to be re-cleaned. Floors felt gross. Ice machine in freezer didn’t work. Stand alone ice machine didn’t make enough to keep up. Oven was broken- they sent someone to fix it but it was still not working right when we left. House needs some general updating. Pool was small but community pool was nice. Pool access (to enter pool area) location at the house was strange. The upper bathroom windows in the middle level did not have blinds so the neighbors could see directly into the shower. Not all the beds had sheets on them when we arrived.

Was a bit confused by the cleaning list that was left for us. I generally leave a home cleaner than when I arrived anyway but the list, with charges included, if we decided not to empty trash, clean and put away dishes, strip all the beds was a bit offensive. There’s usually a check out list but I’ve never been pressured (for lack of a better word) to be charged if we didn’t get it done. Especially not for a house that we paid $12,000 for a week.
Anyway, overall a great house. Just being honest for others. Good location. We enjoyed our trip.

Buck Hill Island is a pristine community and you'll love your stay! The unique set up of the home provides you with plenty of space to spread out. The pool area is private and sheltered from the ocean winds. The hot tub is large and relaxing.
Every bedroom has a bath and they're all clean and functional. Beds were a little hard but it's not home.
The kitchen is stocked for large groups and fully functional with lots of seating.
The furniture was plenty and comfortable and clean.
The beach is a short walk down a nice boardwalk. Even after Labor Day, lifeguards were visible and observant. The beach area was nice and clean but there is public access around you.
The view is gorgeous and relaxing and quiet from the top deck. The dunes have to be super high there because of weather, so you'll not get view from the second deck. But it's just as comfy and more private.
Shopping plaza and grocery stores are just around the corner. The community pretty much sustains itself with the area. Southern areas as Duck, Nags Head,etc are about 40 mins south off the entrance to OBX. It was busy but not packed with people as farther south.
Leslie's was prompt with one thing we needed as was the pool guy who came to answer. Not one complaint here!

We had the best time at this property making memories. Between family game night, pool time, and easy access to the beach this house was perfect. It was extremely clean, the 2 laundry rooms made life so easy, and we would definitely stay here again.

We had 4 families vacation in July 2022, each with young children. We had an absolute blast! Felt right at home in the cozy, well-kept home. Scenery and days' events were amazing being right on the beach. Property management was very accommodating. Hope to return!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Sunrise. There was just the right amount of space for everyone to have their privacy and enjoy the company of the family. We were there the week before the season started and although we had some rain it was still perfect. The heated pool made all the difference for swimming. We were able to enjoy the beach almost every day. The kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of pillows, linens and towels. Laundry on two floors for this size house was perfect. The elevator was great for lugging everything to the 2nd and 3rd floor. The view was perfect. We could see dolphins in the water daily. The distance to the beach was just right. All and all it was a great stay and we will definitely stay there again. The few things that we did not like were manageable and overall did not effect our stay. The pool chairs all had cracks in them so we didn’t spend too much time sitting on them in fear they would break. The beds were on the hard side except one so we just had to adjust to that but some like hard beds. We still slept just fine. The second floor shared bathroom did not have enough privacy from the balcony and windows next door if you were sitting on the toilet or showering. So we only bathed the babies in this bathroom. There were plenty of bathrooms so this was not a problem for us. Everything you need is close by and lots to do when your not on the beach or relaxing on the scenic decks. Beautiful gated community. We ahead a great week. Thanks Leslie and Jen for a great stay.

Needs some definite upgrades in kitchen, but overall my sisters and brother and I had a very good time. Lots of space and very open top floor. Kitchen is fully equipped with 2 or more of each item. Beautiful view of the ocean.

This 6 bedroom house was just perfect for our family of 13, 7 kids and 6 adults. The kitchen had ample space for cooking and enough tables for sit down eating and/or playing games. The cupboards were also filled with games and puzzles. The gated community is very secure and shopping, groceries, and restaurants are all walking distance. Perfect location with views of beautiful sunrises.

We had a group of 12 stay and the house was the perfect size to accommodate all of us. The beach is a stones throw away and the porches were where we spent most of our time dolphin watching if we weren’t at the beach or in the pool. We really had no complaints but only a few suggestions: kitchen towels would make a big difference and also bath mats were not in all of the bathrooms so you had nowhere to stand when exiting the shower. We were pleasantly surprised to see there were many beach chairs provided although your listing clearly states there are none at the house. This would be helpful information for people traveling to your house via plane. We had purchased beach chairs on the way to your house thinking there would be none. We would definitely come back! This was our second year in a row at Sunrise. It has been the best home for our large family. Love the huge well-stocked kitchen and living room area.
So many great amenities, including the private gated community with playground, tennis courts, walking distance to Food Lion and even turtles to watch.
Hope to return again next year!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious for our group of ten. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. We would not stay in a property in Outer Banks again without screens. We were there for the ocean and all the wonderful sounds/sites but had to keep doors closed after dark due to bugs. The first night we left doors open and then throughout the days and had a terrible time with flies.

We didn’t want to leave! It was in the perfect location for us and our family and the views were amazing!! The pool was a little dirty but other than that we loved everything about this home. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we were hoping we made a wise selection in property, location, and rental week at booking. Our selection couldn't have been more spot on. The property was large and laid out well for large groups even though our party size decreased last minute due to some conflicts in schedules. From the large 3rd floor covered deck you can sit and listen to the surf in total peace and quiet. The private beach access made the early morning and late evening beach walks with the dogs super easy. The gated development was exceptionally quite and very well maintained. Honestly, after having looked at nearly every VRBO in OBX, I have to say, there could not have been a better selection made than this property. Don't hesitate to book this property if you are looking for a perfect stay. We will definitely return guests.
