The Blackwell Hotel is amazing! It was beautiful and very well renovated.

Comfy beds, nice staff, good ammenities and great location. Unfortunately the breakfast was runny scrambled eggs and undercooked sausage, the house was kept too warm, 10pm curfew on any noise was too early especially on weekends, basement tv had no remote to use it, and the lack of tables and chairs set up to use outside was a bummer since weather was gorgeous and inside was too hot.

It was quaint but the bathroom was across the hall. The bed was uncomfortable. There was suppose to be a door notice to clean but not in the folder at the room. Therefore our room was not made up or clean for the entire stay.

No service employees to help after 5:00.
Didn’t like mattress
Mansion was great.

We’ve stayed here before, and will so again. We love everything about it, great restaurants and shops nearby.

I like staying at unique places that have character and don't look like every other hotel, and the Blackwell has plenty of character. Very cool place to stay. I was here on business however and did not know that breakfast isn't served until 9am prior to my stay, that would've been nice to know.

Beautiful boutique accomodations. Perfect for a quick getaway... maybe a future wedding venue...
Highly recommend!!

Guest should be informed that there will be no staff on the premises, especially if you are the only guest. Wifi and TV never worked even after informing staff that they would fix it. I booked 2 nights and canceled the second night as I didn't feel comfortable. The one positive is that Laurie made a nice breakfast and refunded my 2nd night without any fuss.

Very well kept property. Never have any problems. Very nice people.

Very charming property. It has a great location that allows for accessing the main drag and outdoor activities (no driving required). It was a very quiet property with a very enjoyable common area (fireplace, couches, and pool table). Breakfast was very good and 24 hour access to free snacks.
The staff was only onsite from 8ish to 4ish. The after hours number was not monitored and on the 2nd night there was a temporary water leak from the unit above us, that we had to clean up ourselves. The HVAC was a mini duct system that was very loud and was not adjustable.
We enjoyed our stay and would choose the Blackwell again.

Beautiful, historic, and well worth the $! Definitely staying here again!

A lovely break from a traditional hotel, the Blackwell was cozy, welcoming, and close to town! Large rooms, fireplaces in the common areas, great options for breakfast. We would definitely book again if our travels take us back to Cd'A.

We stayed in room 9, which has a private bathroom. It was spacious and clean. Bonus to have breakfast in the main house. Only negative was the hard bed. But otherwise this is a fantastic place!

This was a girls weekend with a birthday included.
I asked if they could put a special cake in the room and they were so pleased to be able to help out.
The room was beautiful and the staff so very kind.
We will be back for sure.

Beautiful location. Great breakfast. On the hotel site it says breakfast is available between 8-10 but it was served at 9:00. There was no air conditioning in the room and it was a bit warm and stuffy on the 3rd floor. Overall it was a nice stay.

Very unique restored home. Many small details expertly addressed. Never received the text with our room number or code for the door despite management getting notice it was sent. Check-in a little confusing as venue was prepping for a wedding. We found things to do in town so as to not disrupt the wedding. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room & the mattress had a distinct hump in the middle, causing us each to roll to our respective sides of the bed. I think if there weren't a wedding & we had a different room we would be giving a higher rating. Cool place, great staff & awesome breakfast in the morning.

Carriage house was quiet and out of the traffic line. Shower needs a complete upgrade. Might be nice to have a small table and chairs in the room along with recliners.Parking is on the street and very muddy.:( Good location to restaurants and shops. Customer service was excellent.

Air conditioning we couldn’t adjust, No extra blankets. Stair case that was very thin stairs, easy to fall if you are carrying luggage up and down.

Excellent location, room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Overall, great experience.

Beautiful older home re-purposed for guests.. convenieint to downtown, walkable if good weather.
Stayed on upper floor - needed AC to be comfortable sleeping once outdoor temps were 88.

The hotel is beautiful and within easy walking distance of the lake and restaurants and shopping - there are lovely places to sit outside on the property - just perfect

It was super! Staff was great, and breakfast was wonderful!
Only drawback was bathroom across the hall, but we knew that going in. Highly recommend the Blackwell!

Pros: Loved the house and its architecture. In a good location. Very good breakfast in the morning, included with the room. We spent plenty of time out on the beautiful porches
Cons: When we arrived we were met with a rather surly woman who was less than welcoming.
Our room was cute but we had to carry our luggage up 3 sets of stairs to get to it. Pretty clean room except for some floating wads of someone's hair on the hardwoods. Also the AC in the room was so cold we were freezing and had a hard time sleeping (no one in the house to consult with about it in the evening)

Pros: absolutely beautifully reconditioned 1905 hotel. The room was large and very clean and very comfortable. Bed was great
Cons: our room was very good, but to get to the private bathroom we had to walk across the hall to a separate bathroom. Not very comfortable in the middle of the night. The Wi-Fi was inconsistent at best. Sometimes there sometimes not.
The breakfast was OK but not too great. Two days of scrambled eggs in the basket, and a little bit else besides that.
The thing I hated most was their TV, only Roku streaming. If you had other apps for other streaming videos you can log onto those. We just wanted to watch local news on TV not possible in this place.
If you want to take a shower you have to hop over a gigantic tub like you’re lifting your leg over a bike, then you have to enclose yourself so you don’t spill anything out on the floor. A very nice refurnished 1905 hotel, But not a very comfortable place to stay.

My husband normally likes staying in the big hotels. I convinced him to try a B&B at the Blackwell. We were both thoroughly impressed with our room, the customer service and our location. We choose a room with a private bathroom. We would highly recommend this property. The breakfast was yummy, as well. Thank you for making our stay memorable & pleasurable! Jim & Shauna

This was a bed and breakfast. Everything was wonderful about it. We stayed in the Carriage House- room 8. It was a clean nice room. The Inn keeper was very personable and made everyone feel like they were special. Breakfast was delicious and a great variety. I would definitely stay there again. Well worth the money.

Nice B&B in a great location. Negatives were the Wi-Fi was poor and the tv couldn’t maintain a signal due to this. The room was very cold and had no control in the room. Breakfast was just so so.
