We have always stayed in hotels when we have travelled to Portland in the past, but we have been curious about trying this guest house, and on our recent trip, we finally tried it. What a pleasant surprise! The room was very comfortable, the self-service kitchen was well stocked with various food items to feed the guests with cereals, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. It had the feel of staying in the guest room at a friend's house. Very sweet. We will stay there again the next time we visit Portland.

Room was clean and fine. There wasnt temperature control in these old rooms and the thermostat for the baseboard heating was right next to the window so the heat kept kicking on during the night. Took me a while to figure out the problem. The duvet was very warm and while there were sheets in the cupboard that guests could out on, making a bed when you arrive and are tired feels a little underwhelming. The location was great. The street is pretty loud and we needed the windows open for air so i would suggest ear plugs. Might be nice to provide these to guests. Was glad i had brought my laptop for watching tv.

Staying at the Guesthouse felt like a throwback to a gentler, more community-minded era. The room was lovely with a super comfy bed. It was the first night on a long trip of one-night stays that I slept well. The kitchen was generously stocked with breakfast supplies and snacks. Right around the corner was a food truck ally, had a delicious dinner (Indian food). Great neighborhood, but most importantly, the lovely, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere at Bluebird Guesthouse. Thank you!

I’m a person who loved privacy and this guest house was great for that. There was a coded entry and I never had to interact with anybody. Great location. I loved the creative touches like the Elliot Smith room etcetera. I would stay here again.

Unfortunately I could not find a parking spot and decided to abandon my stay and drive back to Tacoma.

My only reason for not giving five stars for property condition was that during the power outage of 1/9-1/10, the stairs to the basement rooms could have used emergency lighting of some kind--such as the cheap, battery operated devices that can be bought at any hardware store. The stairs were very dark! In fact, such lights could be installed in every room and corridor for very little money. Typically they are operated by touch and then turn on, providing limited hours of light during an emergency. Otherwise, I love the Bluebird guesthouse and plan more stays there this year!

First of all, the whole place is charming. Second of all there were hooks everywhere and I used them all! That may seem odd but it's my biggest issue with hotels.
I hope to stay there again

Charming and well designed remodel of an older Bungalow. We loved it, especially after meeting and speaking to the owner. Lots of choices of breakfast and snack foods. The room was comfortable and welcoming! Will return again!!

This is a simple guesthouse, right on Division close to dining, shops, and the people we were visiting. Parking is on the street, but I've never had a problem finding a spot, break-ins, etc.
Depending on the room, some of the fixtures could stand an update, but on the other hand, they are all vintage, so that is part of the charm.

Beautiful guesthouse in a fantastic neighborhood. The room was clean and spacious, and the guesthouse includes continental breakfast and all day snacks. We will definitely stay here on future visits!

A fun, funky old house with kind of an upscale hostel feel. Individual rooms with private bathrooms, big communal kitchen with lots of breakfast items to fix yourself. Parking is tricky as it is street parking only in a busy and popular area. You may have to walk a couple blocks but felt pretty safe. Great location! Would def stay here again.

Very unique place, has some very nice personal touches with lights and fake fireplace outside the room. Very nice location for walking and finding food, shops, art galleries, etc. Donut shop up the street and great food trucks right around the corner.

The room was lovely and comfortable. We were not prepared for the "private bath" to be down the hallway. Also, entry to the guesthouse requires an access code for the security keypad. We were told we would receive the access code in an email message but we did not find an email. We were able to connect with the house manager (there is no staff on-site) by telephone and were informed the code would be in a text message. Breakfast is available in the kitchen but is do-it-yourself. The guesthouse is in an interesting neighborhood with dining and shopping available. On-street parking is available nearby.

We loved this stay. The check-in hours were flexible and we were able to check ourselves in and not disturb anyone else, which was nice. Everything looked as it was listed. The private shower and bathroom were both small but nice. Everything was great and fir a great price!

Extremely comfortable stay in a prime Division Street location, close to most of the featured food and beverage shops. Fascinating unique home. Lots of common space and kitchen area and cozy places to sit and relax. Airport to within 40 yards of guesthouse with only one rail to bus transfer! Wonderful Stay!!

It’s my new home away from home! Slept like a rock in a comfy clean bed.
Dark out curtains would have made it perfect!

Okay, I hate doing this, because I don't want to be priced out of, or lose reservations to, this amazing property. It is an old school BnB in the true sense of the word. Each room is named after an author, and I was beyond pleased to stay in my childhood favorite author of all time's room!! AND THEY HAVE AVAILABLE THE RELEVANT READING MATERIAL!!!! The furnishings are lovely. Appropriately weathered so as to give an "antique" experience, but not so precious you feel like you're ruining a precious object by using it for it's intended purpose. Really beautifully appointed. The breakfast provided gave quite a variety of options. THE SERVICE IS UNPARALLELED! Special shout-out to Becca and Erika (yeah, fellow Aquarians!) and Chris, who really made my stay great. This is located on a fairly busy street, with lots of amazing shops, eateries, and a few dive bars nearby, but I was there from Saturday until Thursday, and never had a problem with noise (things quieted down by 9p). If it is possible to have a crush on a property, then I definitely do!!

Easy, early check in, room is very quiet and comfortable. Wish we could park closer, but Friday night is busy in this neighborhood! Classic old Portland house is pleasantly redone as a guest inn.

Delightful, homey atmosphere, a well-stocked "help yourself to breakfast kitchen," a cozy comfortable room, old fashioned bathtub... My experience at Bluebird Guesthouse exceeded my expectations. I will be back!

Very clean, well laid out kitchen area with ample supplies for self serve breakfast. Several sitting areas. Roomy room, with private bathroom outside the room. I didn’t realize the room bathroom was down the hall in 2 separate rooms (one with shower and the other with toilet/sink.). It was serviceable
Very quiet so had a great sleeping environment.
Will gladly return.

My partner and I drove in for a concert, they got the room ready very quickly. It was very nice. Parking was no issue since we got in very early a spot was open right up front. Loved that there was pretty much no contact. Will for sure stay again if we go back up

I usually travel with my family, so it was a nice change to stay by myself in this cozy guesthouse. I felt very safe - bed was comfy and property is nicely decorated and maintained. Very DIY - from check in to check out.

Very pretty house, lots of food options. A/C was very loud and didn't work great, but otherwise everything was great.

Lovely place! No AC in the room we were staying in made it very humid and uncomfortably stuffy even with the window open and fan on. Our solution was to sit on the awesome porch most of the time we were there!

The Bluebird guesthouse was cute and charming. It was easy getting into the home and finding our room, following instructions that were sent to me. The staff was very friendly in communication, but they were never seen (we got in later and left earlier the next morning).

I liked the privacy while also knowing I could call on staff if I needed to. I liked the easy check in process and and how neat and clean everything was. Low stress stay that was relaxing.
