This property was perfect for a girl’s weekend away! It is such a beautiful little house and there are so many fun things to do! We enjoyed relaxing out on the covered porch and made s’mores in the campfire. Enjoyed breakfast at Mamies in Martinsburg and dinner on a cruise on The Proud Mary around Raystown Lake. Thank you for hosting our group for a weekend we won’t ever forget!

Raystown is becoming a yearly tradition for our family and this property was above our expectations. Traveling with a 1 year old is never an easy task and they made it a smooth process with a high chair and all! My son had all the room in the yard to run around and play. The house had just about everything that we needed and the cleanliness was pristine. Close enough to the water where my husband could leave and go fishing before we would even wake up.

Extremely good experience

The cottage was immaculate and just as it appears in the pictures. Check in and communication with the owner were a breeze. We had A LOT of rain while we were there however you could sit on the covered porch untouched by the weather, which was really nice. Home was stocked with the basic necessities (hand soap, toilet paper etc) and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need. There were games for outside and inside. Beds were comfortable and there were extra blankets and sheets. Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. I would suggest instructions for the shower because it took us a bit to figure out how to change it from bath to shower. We have stayed in the area a few times now since our daughter is attending college nearby and it is just gorgeous. The house had great views of the mountains and I saw a deer and some other small animals while drinking my morning coffee on the porch. My family really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.

We had a long weekend at the lake house near Raystown. We have stayed in the area several times before. The home was beautiful , clean, and well stocked. The cabin was beautifully appointed and beds super comfy! We enjoyed the views including a double rainbow in the distant valley. The porch was perfect for visiting with family. Communication was immediate with the homeowners . I couldn't think of a better place to spend a birthday weekend. I wouldn't hesitate to return!

Property was very clean. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend get away with our two children ages 15 and 6. It was in a convient location to the lake and stores. We had a great time.

This was great place to stay in between boat runs. Just 15 minutes from the Tatman Run boat launch. Plenty of room for 6 guys and a boat in the driveway.

We can't say enough about this beautiful home (and owners) close to the lake. It's quiet location and closeness to the lake are perfect! This home is equipped with everything. You need only your personal belongings when staying at the Grouse Cottage. They even have outdoor and indoor games to keep you busy when not at the lake. We had some issues with the hot water when we arrived. Alexis and her husband were absolutely wonderful and very quick to resolve the issue. They were very respective of our privacy when entering the home to resolve the issue. We can't wait to book this cozy cottage again and bring our kids and grand-daughter on our next trip!
