While the property itself was nice, I was disappointed when I walked in to find the house was not cleaned. It said "professionally cleaned". The house obviously was not professionally cleaned, as I had to scrub down the counter tops, sweep the floors, clean the fridge, clean the shower and the toilets. There was dog hair, human hair everywhere. The home is obviously used by the family, which is completely fine. Nothing wrong witht that, however that needs to be relied more clear in the listing. The entire refrigerator door was full of used condiments and the showers had hygiene products, which again is fine if this is a family cabin they are renting out to supplement income, but it just needs to be stated more clear (possibly it was and for some reason I didn't catch it). The house was beautiful, loved the kitchen and the deck was a dream. The table outside was broken, so didn't feel comfortable using it without a tabletop. It was just the cleanliness that could be improved in the future. Easy to find. TV's in the bedrooms was a plus. Internet and satellite TV which is a plus as well. I liked having a half bath on the main floor which was very convenient. Home was very nice. The only thing I would ask in the future is if the home is not professionally cleaned, it shouldn't be advertised as such. I do appreciate you sharing your home. Families would love staying here with the sandy beach. Blessings.

Beautiful sandy beach with shallow water was perfect for three year old grandkids. The screened porch with propane fire pit was great for chatting and playing games. The living/dining area was spacious, and the kitchen was well appointed, with everything you would want for making meals. There was a small problem with the upstairs toilet, and the owners had it taken care of within hours. Overall, we would definitely rent again!

This is a great place to experience a beach vacation without having to get on an airplane! We had a great time swimming, kayaking, catching minnows and watching the baby ducks. The screened in porch was fabulous! Thank you for everything - we really enjoyed our time!

Clearly the owners must also visit this place because it is literally stocked with everything we could have needed. We cooked our Thanksgiving meal here and had everything we could need to cook it. We would definitely come back.

Craig and Sandy are wonderful to work with and the Sugar Sand House is just what we needed. All the amenities you could want and everything was extremely clean and well taken care of. The property is spectacular and the sunset views of the lake are picturesque. We will definitely stay here again!

Place was wonderful! Only suggestion would be to allow for storage for food that the guests bring in.

This property has great views of the lake. The house seems to be very new and is in perfect shape inside and out. We had access to everything we could think of. The owners are very generous and welcoming. The beach has great sand and swimming would be ideal for small kids since the lake is knee deep 40 feet out and you could wade forever. I would stay again.

Nice house. Beautiful Lake!

My wife and I stayed here with our son, daughter, and son-in-law. There was plenty of space for us all to sleep. The house was stocked with all the things we could need. The air conditioning was very nice on the hot days. We also loved the outdoor screened in space to listen to the waves without worrying about bugs. The views are very private and was nice to see out the great big windows. We would stay here again in the spring or fall and hopefully have better luck fishing at that time. Overall it was a great place to spend the week together. Communication with the hosts was also great. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

The home was very well stocked and i can’t think of one thing it didn’t have that we needed. The beach area was very nice and we enjoyed some swim time. Overall the house was very comfortable. My only suggestion would be maybe a new mattress in the single bed, bedroom. We had one mishap and the owner was very understanding and worked with us on getting the problem taken care of. I would stay again, just not let my significant other bring his boat or back it up 😂

There are lots of board games, kayak, etc. available for use. Internet quality is not great but still it works, deck is nice as well. A buddy and I came up to fish Mille Lacs lake from Texas. I have rented several houses and cabins for fishing trips, and this was by far the best stocked house I have ever had. Usually pictures are way better than the actual house, but this was the opposite. The pics don't do it justice. The owners were great communicators and awesome hosts. Had plenty of room to turn and park my 21' bass boat. Will definitely stay again if I make another trip to Mille Lacs.

Very nice home. The road is very busy, so walking or running from the home would be dangerous. The owner has too many personal items in the kitchen, bathroom and refrigerator for my preference. Communication with the owner was good. The lake views make it feel like you are at a ocean retreat.

(Btw, the gas ran out, so we connected the spare.) Beautiful view. Couple downsides (no fault of owners): dead fish on the beach. Mayflies. Bring some Yard Guard. I would recommend cleaning out more of your personal items when people are going to be staying. we had no space to put any of our food or clothing. there was also still dirty towels in a basket downstairs. didnt feel like a rental property felt like i was staying in strangers house and i havent had that feeling before in other rentals i have stayed at.

This property is nicely built with the living area being on the main floor and 2 bedrooms in the walk out basement. The deck and screen porch with the gas fire table was where we spent our time when we weren't in or on the water. The beach is perfect sand and goes far out into the lake before dropping off! We did bring our 17 foot fishing boat, but the north end of the lake gets shelled by wind often and because the water level is so low this summer we found it impossible to tie off our boat to the dock. It was not a problem though, we just trailered to a public launch in Isle in a bay where the water was calmer and enjoyed the lake and Father Hennepin State Park. We also brought our kayaks and spent an entire day riding the waves right out front - no worry of capsizing because the water is so shallow (and warm). This home is clean, the check-in process was easy, communication with Craig was fast and positive, and the neighborhood safe. The home has absolutely everything one could possibly need for a delightful stay, just a touch more organizing of the kitchen is needed. The refrigerator did freeze some of our produce causing us to have to throw it away so just watch for that. And there are critters (to be expected in Minnesota lake country) that got into the garbage can - again not a big deal but just be aware and bring a strap if you have one to strap the garbage can shut. Loved every minute and would visit again!

It would be great if the bedroom windows had coverings for privacy and to block the morning sun. I imagine it’s coming but they just haven’t got to it yet. The beach had lots of dead snails and consequently, swarming flies, so we only went out once. The lake itself had lots of floating snails too. It’s too bad because the water is shallow for yards and the bottom is soft and sandy that it would have been perfect for lounging and playing with the kids. Others may be totally fine with it but I got a little squeamish. The fridge and freezer had lots of food in it when we arrived so it was a bit of a challenge to fit our stuff but we made it work. They have lots of games available but take note, they don’t have bags/cornhole so bring your own if that’s a family favorite. Overall, it was a nice place with beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
