Nice quiet place close to the water. The place was large enough for our large family, the kitchen was stocked well for preparing meals. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the property on arrival. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

Listing in the amenities were 2 bbq grills, neither worked. Contacted Surf and Sound reality, they sent maintenance and they agreed they were rusted junk but homeowner refused to replace. We’re planning on grilling all week, but that did not happen. Very disappointed when you spend a great amount of money for a week and they can’t replace a $200 grill.

***our family vacations to the beach every year and have learned that no matter how awesome a house is, if the management company SUCKS, your stay will also suck! Please check out who is managing a vacation property prior to booking!*** Check in time is 6pm but we received a text message from the management company (surf or sound) at 2pm that said it was ready for early check in! We were already In the area so we really appreciated being able to check in 4 hours early! Upon arriving, we found a welcome letter and gifts (Rodanthe dish towel, Christmas ornament and some sea glass candy) on the dining room table. The house was very clean and all beds were made (we stayed last year in a different house with a different management company and they literally just tossed the sheets on each bed and we had to make 9 beds as soon as we arrived, very frustrating). The inside of the house was just as described and the location is PERFECT! Only 122 steps (yes I counted) from your driveway to the walkway to the beach/pier!! We received several calls/texts from the management company asking if we needed anything and how our stay was going which was so nice compared to the management company we stayed with last year that never answered our calls and never returned calls. The only slightly negative thing we found was the backyard which we definitely still enjoyed. To access it, you have to walk through the bottom level of the house to the back door or you can use the side gate which was difficult to open and horribly inconvenient. The pool was nice but small. We had a group of 17 and there were only 4 or 5 chairs set up around the pool. The hot tub definitely needs some maintenance, some of the jets don’t work and one of the knobs sprays water in the air and there was no way to turn off the waterfall feature due to the broken knob. The hot tub cover was also difficult to maneuver and didn’t have the lift bar that assists with opening and storing the lid while using it. There was a large amount of beach chairs (not in the best shape but so nice to have if you forget yours), pool floats, and sand toys. The 2 grills are old and small, definitely need to be replaced and upgraded but they do still serve their purpose. The outdoor showers need plumbing maintenance We really enjoyed our vacation and loved the house but Surf or Sound Realty definitely was the one that made our vacation excellent!

Overall we had a fantastic stay. Beautiful home and location. I did request the dining room light to be looked at twice and let the realty company know that one of the screen doors wouldn't open. There also was no DVD player in the theater room that we had hoped to use. Not huge problems and didn't affect our time there. One suggestion is to have a hand held shower head in the upstairs king suite bathroom. I am a double amputee and need to sit to shower and a hand held shower would have allowed me to use the shower. I love the home and so did everyone else. Would return again
