Retro Airstream with Private Deck and Ocean View
About this house rental
Nestled in Santa Barbara, this attractive house for $264 per night is a great option for your next trip. Make your beach bungalow dreams come true in this 28' 1964 AirStream International. Equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom with hot water shower and flushable toilet, and your own private jacuzzi. Take in the amazing Santa Barbara sunset on your own private deck. Explore nature on your own private acre of property. After soaking in the sun on the hammock and the relaxing in the bubbles, retire to a full size bed inside the trailer. There is also a small couch inside to rest on that opens to a bed. The retro feel of this space will take you back in time, but you will be brought back with modern conveniences like cable TV, Wifi, coffee maker and microwave. With the medium sized fridge, BBQ, and oven/stove you can make your own meals and keep them fresh. A short 5 minute car ride to the beach, and downtown areas make this property very accessible. Hiking trails are right around the corner and the airport is 10 minutes away. All of Santa Barbara has to enjoy is just a short car ride away from this central location. You have your own parking and private entrance to the trailer. We follow strict COVID cleaning protocols so you can feel safe staying. This is a very private setting, with plenty of wildlife (birds, deer, rabbits, raccoons...etc.), so if you are in an outdoorsy state of mind, the setting will be ideal. When you arrive park in the far left gravel driveway and walk down to the trailer. There is a wagon to wheel down your belongings. The trailer door is open and locks from the inside only, so keep valuables in your car when you are not on the property please. Further instructions are in a folder in the airstream. This place was even better than we expected!! Amazing 360 views, the cutest trailer, jacuzzi, and even a tent with a full other bed set up! We loved this place and miss it already!

Based on the glowing reviews, we thought this would be a fun adventure, though maybe a bit of a splurge for a "camping" experience. We were seriously disappointed. On a hot day, the sun blasts the hillside in the late afternoon and we discovered that the air conditioning didn't do much to cool the trailer. There was a nice shady spot to sit and take in the view (which was amazing), however it also overlooked a small construction site on the same property, with a junky old trailer and an earth mover. Outdoor furniture didn't look like it had been wiped down in a long time. The trailer was relatively clean but not spotless, and the folding accordion "door" between the bathroom and the rest of the trailer was broken so there was no real privacy in the bathroom. The main bed in the trailer is not really big enough for two people, and the couch that was supposed to fold out into a bed tipped sideways when it was opened. Near the trailer, there is a tent with a bed in it that was quite comfortable. However, there is no way 6 people could sleep on this property, unless some of them sleep on the floor. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay. The property doesn't really feel cared for and it's way too much of a camping experience for the price.

Beautiful setting, very peaceful.

Great opportunity to sample RV living space. This unit exhibited problems typical of Air Streams of this vintage that have not undergone extensive rehabbing; dodgy electrical wiring and windows in rough shape. Nonetheless, we were more than comfortable during a long rainy day in March. Privacy was great and the canyon and its wildlife made fine neighbors.

Although the airstream was experiencing some electricity/water problems, the host was very accommodating with letting us stay in rooms in the beautiful house up the hill where we had full access to the jacuzzi’s, pool, and breathtaking view. The airstream itself was quaint and in such an ethereal location, waking up to deer roaming the hills and birds chirping is something I’ll never get over. The host called us frequently to make sure everything was up to our liking and we were comfortable. All in all, best spring break trip, I’ll be reminiscing on it for a while.

My daughter was so excited to see all the wildlife and the massive outdoor turfed area. We sat out there in the evenings to eat and play pretty pretty princess (I won the majority). She slept on the bed and I slept on the foldout sofa. It's been such a joy to revisit this property and make so many additional memories. Thanks so much and we hope to see you again next year!

What a unique and fun getaway. Close enough to the city but it feels like your miles away. Yes there are differences between sleeping in an Airstream and staying in a condo, but we knew that going in and embraced them as part of the adventure.

Really unique spot. You have full privacy, tons of space (which our dog loved roaming around end, plenty of amenities and stunning views of the ocean and mountains.
My only knock was the cleanliness. With the exorbitant cleaning fee, I would have expected the property to be spotless. But there were chunks of food in the sink from the previous guests, and the coffee filter was not clean at all.

The photos do a great job of giving a glimpse into this unique property. What they don’t do is help you understand the views and the peacefulness. We enjoyed the cook evenings and slept in the tent. Truthfully two extremely relaxing evenings in front of the fire.

Awesome views, jacuzzi, privacy (though on property with owners), accommodating property. When we got there, a thing or two needed to be attended to, and they immediately took care of it. Parking was shaky as it’s on the end of a very steep hill and at the time, the driveway wasn’t finished, though I’m sure that’s close to being finished if not already.
They built a quasi yurt with a queen size bed which was AWESOME to wake up to nature and the sun. The airstream is older,, but at the end of the weekend, we had a great unique experience. I’d recommend it.

This is a nice little retreat in a little niche of the canyon. It's on the private property of the homeowner but it's set off on the side of the hill away from the main property. You have your own area to relax and enjoy your time and no one bothers you. The trailer itself was a little smaller than the photos depict and some things have been changed/renovated. It's old and could use some updating but it also is a vintage Airstream trailer. It provides all the basics you need for a nice getaway. The outside space is where this property shines. A lot has been added since the listing and there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors from the nice deck with beautiful view and fire pit, to the spa and outdoor tent with full bed inside. There are swings and a hammock and space to spread out and play. There is a little dog run below that our dog just loved playing in. Everything sits on the side of a canyon where you can enjoy the quiet and sounds of nature. The views and sunsets were great while relaxing in the spa. There are plenty of critters to be seen and heard, we saw a bobcat while we were there. We were quite surprised and pleased with the property. It can feel a little creepy at night but you're never too far from civilization as there are homes just up the driveway from where you are, yet you feel like you have a space of your own. A short 5 to 10 minute drive gets you down into town, State St., or the beach. Plenty of things to do around town or just sit and relax in this little retreat. We had a good time with out 6 year old son and dog and it was definitely a good test for us for actually going camping or renting an RV but this has it all and more without all the hassle of having to pack, rent, or drive it to your site. Definitely worth a visit and we'd do it again. We love Santa Barbara and this place gives you the best of seclusion with lots to do nearby.

Easy process. Owner/host very welcoming and communicated well. Loved sipping coffee in the morning overlooking Santa Barbara, and the hot tub in cool evenings.

The property offers a quiet beautiful atmosphere to relax. Have a cup of coffee on the deck while watching nature. We saw a fawn! Grill out and enjoy a sunset before jumping in the hot tub. It is close to downtown, just a short Uber ride.

Rustic chic accommodations in the Santa Barbara Hills
My wife, son and dog loved our stay over the Fourth. The Airstream is nestled in the Santa Barbara Hills conveniently located to many of Santa Barbara's attractions. The views from the patio/deck were amazing. I loved watching the colorful sunsets and the stars at night, and seeing the hawks soaring through the sky while sipping on my morning coffee. Patty is a great, attentive host. We will definitely return.

Just 10 short minutes away from the hustle and bustle of downtown SB is this gorgeous gem hidden in the hills. It is the perfect place to retreat to after a long day of walking down state street or lounging on the beach. The private hot tub, hammock, and fully fleshed out deck were a welcome addition and a great way to end each day. Something to keep in mind, though, is that it is on a shared property and there are other tenants on the adjacent lot above. It wasn’t an issue for us, but if you want complete privacy it’s something to consider. Patty is also a breeze to work with. When we had an issue with the parking arrangement she was just a phone call away and solved the issue very quickly. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique experience.

Such a great quiet location! Spent a couple days here with my 7yo daughter during her spring break. Felt comfortable and safe the entire time and it's so incredibly close to downtown and honestly everything else as well. Looking forward to our next trip! Thanks for having us!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the airstream! We had a lot of space and privacy (great for our pup) and beautiful views. Hot tub was amazing. The airstream itself was a bit tight, but had what we needed and with all the outdoor space was worth it. Would stay again!

It's a cute little airstream. Patty, the property manager, could use some work. I texted her about check in but got no reply. Complaints about property weren't really address. Hot tub wasn't working when we were there and when it was fixed, it didn't heat up when we needed it (6 hrs later), and had a weird smell to it. There were cobwebs in places. So it didn't seem recently cleaned. And the sink head is also the shower head (long hose but nowhere to hand the shower head so you have to hold it up, wasn't a fan of that) the fire logs she gave us were like starter logs? They definitely didn't keep us warm in 45 degree weather. And the drive I to the parking spot for this property was narrow gravel next to the cliff edge so coming in and out of it was terrifying. And there were 4 flashlights and only 1 had working batteries, and that only worked the first night. The heaters worked well.
But overall the place is cute and quaint. It looks exactly like the picture on the outside. Not a bad place to stay but for the price you pay, it definitely needs some upkeep and revamp.

Amazing sunsets, great views. Hot tub was so relaxing. Set expectations to camping and be blown away, if thinking you’re renting a house you’re mistaken. There’s nature around you, incl birds, bugs, ants. Ideal place to disconnect, however wifi is pretty robust. Tight sleeping accommodations for 4 people, but we made it sort of work (2 in our party we’re kids).

Absolutely loved staying in the Airstream. Only criticism I have is the parking situation. You won't want to drive down the drive way because the gravel and steepness. The sign saying not to park is only visible once it's too late and we got stuck on the slope. Other than that we loved it!

We had a very relaxing and fun time in this peaceful valley, with gorgeous views and with a tad of adventure, staying in a Airstream camper. Our host was very generous and kind. Thank you very much for everything!

Very beautiful stay. Secluded but still close to downtown (about 10 minute drive). Fits 4 but would be more comfortable for 3. Swings and hammocks are around the property, plenty of room to lounge. Gorgeous sunset view and star gazing.
The host, Patty, was so nice and accommodating when we met her briefly on our first night. Unfortunately, when I tried to reach out to her multiple times to ask for help regarding the hot tub, she was non-responsive. I texted her and sent a message via the VRBO app but did not hear back from her. Luckily we were able to look up a solution to our problem on YouTube and got the hot tub working or else our evening plans would have been ruined. The fire pit also abruptly stopped working after about 10 minutes of use.
If you plan on using the hot tub and fire pit, I suggest assuring they are fully functioning before booking. All in all I would suggest this stay despite the minor problems. We had a wonderful weekend!
