About this cottage rental
Mo's Cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage conveniently located in Hatteras Colony of the Tri-Village area. Only 3 houses back from Merrimac beach access, this nostalgic cottage has everything you need to enjoy your stay. * Included is a fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals, laundry, beach toys, beach chairs, bikes, and a beach umbrella. Mo's Cottage is complete with a comfortable screened porch and an open living concept. The cottage has 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds. Linens are provided for the beds. After a fun afternoon at the beach or the sound enjoy the outdoor shower. ALL BED LINENS AND PILLOWS ARE PROVIDED *** You will need to provide all bath and beach towels as well as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and any food/condiment items for your stay. **** 1- 50lb dog or less will be considered for a non-refundable fee of $150.00. ** PLEASE NOTE: Hatteras Island is a fragile island, and we cannot control Mother Nature. We strongly recommend you purchase the traveler’s cancellation protection through VRBO as we have a strict cancellation policy. Our policy is 100% refund 30 days before stay cancellation, 50% refund 15 days before stay cancellation. Outside of this policy we will ONLY CREDIT MANDATORY EVACUATION DAYS. My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Mo's Cottage. The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of empty counter space, shelving, hooks and hangers for our food, clothing, etc... The cottage was walking distance to a beautiful section of beach. There were beach chairs, toys, bikes, beach cart, gas grill, charcoal grill, etc... available for our use. Our favorite part of this cottage was the wonderful screened in porch and huge deck! That is where we spent most of our time when we weren't at the beach. Check in and check out were very easy and the owners were quick to answer any questions that we had. We are able to go to the Outer Banks by ourselves about every two or three years. We will definitely try to stay at Mo's Cottage again. There is something very special about staying at an original Outer Banks box cottage that has been passed down and enjoyed by the same family for years!

My husband and I stayed at MO’s for the first time last week and it was perfect for us! The cottage was very cute, very clean and very well stocked with anything we needed. We really enjoyed the screened porch….so lovely! And it was just a short walk to the beach access which was a cute little path over the dunes to the amazing beach and ocean! We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely come back again!

We were asked to do quite a bit of cleaning at checkout: wash and put away all dishes, sweep all floors, etc. but were still charged additional cleaning fees. Several hundred dollars in cleaning fees is unacceptable when we arrived to a dirty cabin and were asked to clean upon departure as well. Dishes were dirty, floors were covered in sand and hair, beds were unmade upon check in. Hosts messaged me almost everyday of our stay reminding me of their cleaning and checkout policies (six messages in five days). We were also charged additional fees for a service animal (illegal under US and NC law). Only one burner on the grill works.

This home has everything a family needs for a stay at the beach! Kitchen is fully stocked to prepare family meals, short walk to the beach, we all loved the outdoor shower, comfortable sleeping and seating. We played yard games and card games. Easy communication with owners. We would love to go back.

We have vacationed at the OBX for over 35 years, but have never been to this area to stay. We found it to be a "throwback in time" to our earliest visits. The neighborhood was quaint, the beach was terrific and we loved the quirky-chic decor of Moe's Cottage. A small, but well appointed beach house that had many simple amenities above what you commonly find. It has become a new favorite for the times when just a few of us can go.

I try to make it to Moe's Cottage at least once a year. It's the perfect beach house. It's not a giant twelve room monolith; it's got a living room, a kitchen, two rooms, and a bathroom. The ground stays dry and the cable works. Best house in Salvo

We had a great time in this charming cottage, a 1 minute walk from the beach. It's super comfy, and the wrap around deck is wonderful. We'd definitely stay there again!

Property was very nice. Very suitable for a beach vacation.
Wish the weather had been a little warmer. We loved the close walking distance to the ocean. Our street was quiet too.
The fact that we could bring our little dog was a real blessing. He loved to walk the beach, but did not want in the ocean.
Many of the local restaurants were closed by our arrival so we did have some driving to do, but that made for new adventures.

My family and I loved staying at Mo's Cottage. So many memories were made that we will carry on forever. Everything about this place made our vacation experience the best. From having the extra essentials to the beach buggy cart that made trips to the beach so much easier. The whole family felt recharged after this trip. Thank You.

We love staying at Mo's cottage! Its so clean and cozy and close to the beach and has a great screened in porch and yard for small kids to play in. We've been looking forward to our week at the beach all year and it did not disappoint!

Mo's Cottage was a wonderful place to stay...perfect for our family of 4. Just a short walk to a not crowded beach in a very quiet neighborhood. The "wash house" off the deck was a treasure trove of things needed for the beach...no need to drag it all along...chairs, cart, toys, boards, etc.
The interior is a fun mix of nostalgic decor. Great screened in porch and lovely wrap around deck. The outdoor shower was a plus for getting the sand off of you before heading in the house.
Owner was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful week in Salvo, OBX and can't wait to come back again...hope Mo's is available!

The cottage is very confortable and well located in Salvo. Nice neighborhood and incredible beaches.
But, If someone in your group has difficulties leading with mosquitoes and cockroaches, check with the owners prior to go how are they controling the insects population.

Great Location, Awesome Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This cottage us updated and has everything you need to enjoy some quality time at the beach. Very close to the beach access and just a short walk across the dunes to get to the ocean. The owners were very communicative and we would absolutely stay here again.

This is our second year staying at MO’s cottage. It’s a small, clean, comfortable “Hatteras box” with everything you need. 5 min walk to the beach

Cozy cottage.
The cottage was a great place to stay. The cottage was very clean and had all the essential needs for our stay. Loved the screened in porch. The walk to the beach access was short, but the walk from the access to the beach was a bit of a challenge for our 10 year old Boston Terrier, and for us trying to carry, push and pull a wagon full of fishing equipment.

We had a fantastic time here! It's just a short walk to the beach, and a quick drive to the sound side or restaurants. There are lots of sand toys for kids to play with in the shed. The house was a perfect size for our family (2 adults and a 9 year old).

Only thing I would recommend is having an extra key
This is for old folks that have fuzzy memories. Everything else was excellent. I have stay in many places in 40 years of trips to the outer banks and this rates up there with the top.

Great spot by the beach
We had a great time tuning out and relaxing at Mo’s. The cottage was in great shape and very clean, and Jamie answered all of my questions quickly. We really enjoyed grilling on the deck, kicking back on the screened in porch, and our daily trips to the beach, which is steps from the door. They even have an outdoor shower, which came in handy every day when we returned. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time at this cozy cottage steps from the beach. Mo’s had everything we needed and more! It was so nice to have beach umbrellas and chairs readily available. We will definitely return!

Perfect place to get away!
We loved the five days we spent at Mo's Cottage! Its such a cute place and we were happy to be so close to the beach and in such a lovely, quiet little neighborhood. The house is updated with new furniture and everything but still has an adorable vintage charm and felt like a lot of care had been put into its decoration and upkeep. The screened in porch was great for keeping our 2-year old safe and we loved the yard and big deck. We hope to return next summer! Thank you!

Dream Vacation
Just got home on the 18th, from a wonderful and memory lasting vacation.
Staying at your place made us feel right at home, and you thought of every last detail .
We enjoyed sitting out on the covered patio, after a long and fun filled day.
Our dog Madison enjoyed it the most I think, just sitting on the floor and enjoying the breeze.
The location was perfect, for we were close to everything and at the same time it was a nice quiet location.
The greatest thing was how close we were to the beach.
We thank you very for everything , and hope to return someday in the future.

Relax at Moe’s
Moe’s Cottage was fabulous! Everything was functional. My dog had a great time and became socially relaxed. It was a true family vacation to us. The walkable ice cream place, the beach access and the friendly neighborhood. We will be back here next year.
