About this bed and breakfast
Nestled in Sussex County, this lovely bed and breakfast for $170 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Room 3 is a second-floor guest room with a double bed and sleeps two with a private bath. This room also has access to a second-story balcony and sitting area complete with a desk for work or using your laptop. Iona Stables and Inn is located on a 35-acre farm just east of Rt 1, at a little crossroads called Argo’s Corner. We are situated 3 miles south of Milford, DE. It is only 3 miles to the Delaware Bay and 16 miles to the Ocean at Cape Henlopen State Park. The Lewes, Rehoboth, Tanger Outlets, and Delaware beaches and State Parks are located just south of us along the Rt 1 corridor. We are located 1 mile south of the new Bayhealth Medical Center. We are also 9 miles south of the DE Turf Sports Complex. To enhance all our guest's safety at Iona Stables and Inn, we have installed UV lights on all the air handlers that service the house. Approximately every 10 minutes, all the inside air is being disinfected from bacteria, viruses, and mold particles. The UV lights are in addition to the MERV 13 filter cartridges we use in all our air handlers. Just another way, we strive to make your stay at Iona Inn a comfortable stay. Here's what the UV lights accomplish. Most indoor air quality products merely trap pollutants, but Swordfish (the manufacturer) actually kills molds, viruses, and fungus in your indoor air. Swordfish UV Air Treatment systems use proven technology and expose your recirculated indoor air to UVC lights, killing and deactivating micro-organisms and sanitizes your air.

Everything was exactly as listed. The home was beautiful inside and out, plenty of seating outside to enjoy the weather. Breakfasts were delicious and hosts were very friendly, including Chip 🐾. Had a great time golfing at The Rookery. Enjoyed Lewes and Rehoboth beaches! Would definitely come back.

Robert & Linda were exceptional hosts! The food was remarkable - very tasty & great presentation. Every day there was a new table setting. The country setting is relaxing and the antiques throughout the house added to the experience. We look forward to another stay!

I am extremely pleased with my stay on this lovely property. There are horses and lots of decks to sit and enjoy nature. Robert & Linda could not be better hosts. I felt at home from the very first time I entered the door. I highly recommend this property, it was clean, neat and had lots of antiques to explore.

We were extremely pleased and blessed with our Hosts and our stay at Iona Stables and Inn! Robert and Linda are great people with loving hearts and they made us feel very welcome in their home. The atmosphere is a very peaceful and restful one and it is in an outstanding environment! A wonderful beach trip with the atmosphere of an exclusive country cottage feel even though you’re staying in a large house. We are so grateful that The Lord led us to this place and are looking forward to spending more times there in the future!

Couple nights away from the hustle and bustle w/ my husband. Beautiful property with many antiques, yet VERY fresh and clean (from my experience not always true of places with many antiques). Robert and Linda are friendly, kind, and have taken care of all the amenities you need. Breakfast each day was amazing and built around guest inputs - beautiful and delicious (thanks for the recipe, Robert!). I also really enjoyed meeting the horses and baby cows. Thanks for a fantastic weekend!

The breakfast was amazing with a wide assortment of fruit, breads and bagels. The eggs and breakfast meats were great also.

The good life
Have you ever stayed at a B & B? We have stayed at many over the years. This was one of the best B & B experiences I have ever had. Sitting by the fire pit in the evening drinking wine and watching the sunset after a perfect day at the beach. Does NOT get any better. AND the hosts,

Thank you, Linda and Robert, for such a memorable stay! We found the Iona Stables and Inn to be peaceful upon arrival. The welcoming atmosphere, kind hosts, breathtaking property, and calmness that could make the most stressed person feel at ease. It was hard to say goodbye because it felt like we lived there the entire time.
To say we'd return is an understatement. We're anticipating the next chance we can get to stay at Iona and relax. Also, hats off to Robert for his delicious creations! We highly, highly recommend staying here!

It was very peaceful. I took a glass of water on the front porch and sat in a rocker. Saw butterflies, a hummingbird, a skink (like a salamander)and flowers. The breakfast was yummy and owners were very pleasant.

There is a special comfort to this home and you will not be disappointed. Bob and Linda are super accommodating and wonderful to chat with. Beaches are just a short distance away. We felt recharged and well rested when we left. This place deserves the full 5 stars and more!

On our second day we were up and out early due to our schedule and “to go” breakfast options were offered to us - including coffee! The location can’t be beat. We were only 10 min. From our field hockey venue and only 30 min from beautiful Lewes, where we were able to easily get to and spend the afternoon shopping and strolling the town’s quaint streets. If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, you will not be disappointed with Iona Stables and Inn. We will surely be back!
