Beautiful home with great outdoor space and view of the lake! The house fit our group of 9 perfectly.

Beautiful home, nicely decorated, so much space, comfortable beds, great deck and fire pit. Hiking the 128 stairs to the lake was not as bad as I though it would be, but it did make the lake feel far away, and we didn't use the lake as much as I expected. All in all, we had a great weekend of relaxation.

Our group of 50(ish) YO men stayed after doing some section hiking on the AT nearby. This was a perfect relaxing end to our trip!

The house is really nice and very comfortable for all nine of us!
All of the beds were very firm, some memory foam mattress pads would be great! And for some reason, the water in the master bathroom, shower doesn’t get hot… But other than that the place was very comfortable!!

Fun family time
The property was perfect for our family. Would have been nice to have more water toys to use besides 3 noodles. The view was wonderful and the house was nicely stocked.

We picked up our son and his tramily on one of the local trailheads as they are thru-hiking the AT. The drive to the house is a little sketchy but if you hit the grocery store on your way in, there's no reason to leave until your trip is over! There are even fresh herbs in the driveway! You can unload right into the main level (only two steps up to the front door). Huge, nice fridge! Plenty of sleeping options and big bathrooms all fully stocked with towels, shampoo, soap and toilet paper. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals. There are lots of glasses, dishes and silverware to use (so no paper products needed) as well as a dishwasher. Laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid and detergent included. Lounging on the deck was a favorite activity. There are 110 steps down to the dock but not bad if you rest on the way back up! A great time was had by all!

And just when you think you are there, make a steeper turn up higher around a few more curves. But otherwise it was incredible - my men did not have problems with the curves.

House was amazing, beautiful! Had everything you need and more. HOWEVER... city girls like me should know that you have to go up a narrow steep twisty road. And just when you think you are there, make a steeper turn up higher around a few more curves. But otherwise it was incredible - my men did not have problems with the curves.

We have rented facilities for many years for our leadership retreat. This was undoubtedly the best we have had. It was so clean and well appointed. Everything we could think of was supplied for us. The view was absolutely breathtaking! Easy check-in and out. Caretaker was there when we arrived. Very nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back.

Great Weekend . . . And the view!!!
Terrific stay! The home was immaculate and everything you could think of was provided. We have leased many homes and/or cabins over the years and this one was hands down the best yet! Only one thing we could think of that would have made this a perfect stay would have been a nice hot tub on the deck overlooking the beautiful lake!

We have rented facilities for many years for our leadership retreat. This was undoubtedly the best we have had. It was so clean and well appointed. Everything we could think of was supplied for us. The view was absolutely breathtaking! Easy check-in and out. Caretaker was there when we arrived. Very nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back.

The only problems we had were at check in as the code had changed and we were unable to get in. We therefore had to stay elsewhere for the night. We had contacted the person but didn’t get a response. We are hopeful we will be reimbursed for the loss of a night. It was very difficult to get connected to use the phone making it difficult to communicate with family staying in different locations. The house was beautiful however.

I’m in love with this property and now Watauga Lake! My family of 5 stayed here for a last minute vacation and easily could have had another family stay with us! Lake access was amazing. We did nearby zip lines, UTV riding, boat rental. The nearby Thai and Italian restaurants are amazing! Very clean and view unlike any other!

Lake life~ if you were looking for a beautiful home that sleeps many, is tucked away high in the mountains and on Wataug Lake, than this is the house for you! The house is clean and modern & has a lovely dock. There are about 100 stairs to the lake so keep that in mind when booking the house (it actually makes for a great workout running up and down the stairs.) We will definitely be back!

Best Mountain Vaca Ever!!
I’m in love with this property and now Watauga Lake! My family of 5 stayed here for a last minute vacation and easily could have had another family stay with us! Lake access was amazing. We did nearby zip lines, UTV riding, boat rental. The nearby Thai and Italian restaurants are amazing! Very clean and view unlike any other!

The house and view of the lake was beautiful! It was clean and very new feeling. Make sure you call Fish Springs Marina well in advance of your trip b/c renting a pontoon boat for the week is a must! The lake is so nice- we even found a rope swing near the marina. The out door fire pit was great for making s’mores and relaxing in the evenings. Only draw back is the stairs to the dock. We had a grandma with us and I just drove to the marina and my husband met us at the marina with the boat for us to get aboard. The deck was spacious with lot of seating. The grill worked well. Plan on cooking most nights b/c it’s 20 miles to town. This was one of the best vacations we had in a long time!
