We had a lovely stay at this unit. The layout worked well for us ( a couple traveling with no children) with the living room and lounge space on one level and bed and bath on another. The lawn and grounds are beautiful and the neighborhood spectacular. We were in town for a birthday and family reunion and had never been to Rumson before. We had dinner in Seabright and a great breakfast at the French Market. We would definitely stay here again when visiting our relatives.

I arrived at the VRBO with my 8 month old baby after a long drive only to find it locked, the check in instructions saying it would be open with the key on the bed. I tried to reach the host with several texts and phone calls for hours with no response. I had to cancel all plans for the evening (family member's rehearsal dinner for wedding) to find an overpriced hotel for one night, that was booked out for the second night. The next day the host offered to help me find something new and pay for it - when she sent me a listing suggestion I booked it for one night, and then she paid me 30% of the actual cost. Overall, the entire weekend was a logistical nightmare because of the error and I still spent more money than I would have on this rental. Beware when booking here.

Super place to stay in a wonderful area. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to visit family and friends in Atlantic Highlands, Sea Bright, Little Silver and Fair Haven. Quiet and beautiful while convenient and close to so much. Upstairs could be perfect for entertaining or hanging out separated from the sleeping quarters. Highly recommend this property!

While this property was every bit as lovely as described, it was a challenging place for 4 sleepers. The bath is located through the bedroom so anyone sleeping upstairs has to leave the building, then reenter and walk through the bedroom to use the bath. Not sure how 2 couples would navigate that easily. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor unless you were very vigilant about pulling the door closed tightly and there was just one towel rack-with 4 people staying there, it was pretty challenging to get those towels to dry from one day to the next! The downstairs bed was supremely comfortable, but the upstairs bed was not. The linens were soft, but the pillow cases did not cover the pillows. There were no blankets that we could find for the upstairs bed. The kitchenette was also challenging-unless one plans to eat all meals out, there is really very little possibility of preparing anything beyond the microwave. A Nespresso is provided, but no coffee machine. A kettle is provided but no tea bags. A fridge is provided but it has no freezer. There is no place to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful trees. I really don’t know how one could really enjoy spending 14 days (summer minimum stay) at this location. For as much as we paid, I would have expected a few more niceties-a toaster oven, some shampoo, conditioner, lotion; towel racks a few tea bags…overall, I have to say I was pretty disappointed.
