About this bed and breakfast
Nestled in Wyoming, this attractive bed and breakfast for $209 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Windmill Inn bed and breakfast is located in picturesque Wapiti Valley, known for its stunning beauty and unique rock formations. Teddy Roosevelt called it “the most scenic 52 miles in America”. We’re conveniently located approximately 30 miles to Yellowstone and 20 miles to Cody, Wyoming. Our central location provides a good base to enjoy Yellowstone Park, Buffalo Bill Center of the West museum, white water rafting, fishing, hunting, hiking, and nightly rodeos in Cody. We also offer tours of Yellowstone and the surrounding area through our tour company called Grub Steak Expeditions. Under the current reservation system at Yellowstone National Park, we can get you in any day of your choosing!

The view was amazing, the room and cleanliness were outstanding, and the hosts were fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and the "to go" option was perfect for a day in Yellowstone. Rod and Suzie are one of a kind people, and Rod's tips on Yellowstone were spot on. Cannot recommend their place highly enough.

You won’t find a better bed & breakfast than the Windmill Inn! We stayed there as our base for exploring the area, especially Yellowstone. It took us several days to explore Yellowstone. Rod, being a guide, was an invaluable resource. He and Suzie seemed to know every place to look for grizzlies, wolves, and nesting birds. We were able to see the most awesome wildlife! And to top it off, Suzie is a gourmet cook and treated us with delicious breakfasts! Thanks for your great hospitality, Rod and Suzie! You are a great team!

Suzy isn’t OCD but her home - which became our home - was spotless. The meals were incredible and the room, bed and the rest of the house were excellent. The best part, though, were Rod and Suzy: they were like two good friends that we just only met for the first time. If we return to Wyoming, we’ll definitely book a much longer stay at The Windmill Inn!

Great hosts. Rod's guidance for visiting Yellowstone was extremely helpful. Suzie's boxed breakfasts created a wonderful opportunity to enjoy breakfast on the banks of Yellowstone lake. The room was excellent and the night sky amazing. A great stay!

Rod and Suzie were amazing hosts. Rod was so knowledgeable about Yellowstone and gave us a lot of tips which were invaluable when we visited the park. And Suzie’s breakfasts were so tasty and filling! The room was clean and very roomy, and the views outside their place were spectacular. I would highly recommend staying here!

This property has it all from beautiful surroundings to incredible hosts! We stayed in the Wapiti room and enjoyed a nice-sized bedroom with an extra large bathroom with double sinks. The bathroom also had an expanded closet area with a mini fridge.
Communication with the owners was excellent. They provided great tips for visiting the area and great to-go breakfasts if you needed to be on the go early. We would definitely stay there again!

Yellowstone Near
Rod and Suzie were great! Their house is so cozy and welcoming! The little touches, like small candies on the bed are amazing! Bring a jacket and sit on the deck and check out the stars! The breakfasts made by Suzie were excellent and delicious. They both know so much about Yellowstone and Cody! Ask about tours of Yellowstone before you book elsewhere!

We had a great time visiting Cody Wyoming and our stay with Rod and Susie was exceptional. They provided great suggestions on places to eat and thing to do and go see. The breakfast was amazing and you will not go hungry at this bed and breakfast. They even provided a great place to visit on our way to Bozeman before our flight. Beautiful, Hospitable, Clean, Unbelievable View!
Rod & Suzie are the most gracious hosts! We stayed in the Wapiti Room which has a super spacious bathroom and an unbelievable view to wake up to. Rod is available every morning for tips on visiting Yellowstone, Cody, etc. The drive to Yellowstone is beautiful & you don’t have to deal with the crowds at West Yellowstone. Super quiet & peaceful with great breakfasts every morning! We stayed 5 nights and loved it!

This was a wonderful experience in a location that was secluded yet convenient, nestled in an amazing surrounding with spacious comfortable rooms.
We enjoyed the conversation as well as Suzie's delicious breakfasts and the tips Rod shared from his experiences at Yellowstone helped us see much more of the area than we would have otherwise. Thoughtful and welcoming, they shared their favorite local business choices for dinner and directed us to a shop along the way where we picked up some deli sandwiches made to order and freshly baked cookies to enjoy at the park.
Thank you for making the long-awaited return to Wyoming a memorable one.
