We had a wonderful week's stay at this charming home. It is beautifully and, most important, comfortably furnished and decorated. The location was perfect for us and a lovely neighborhood for walks, with restaurants and shops about a mile away. The trains did not bother us at all; in fact, my husband loved them! We will look forward to our next stay.

I booked this house for my mother and mother in law for their Christmas visit. It was perfect! The view of the lake is amazing, the location is ideal for walking into town, and the home could not have been more comfortable. What a gem!

The VRBO is exactly what it is advertised plus some. The owner, Mary, is wonderful and very accommodating. The house is so lovely. Our daughter is in college nearby and since we stayed there when we dropped her off, she was looking forward to staying there as well. Very close to stores, shops and restaurant. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit Portland.

Just spent a few days in this lovely home for a reunion with friends. We loved every minute! The home is beautiful and has a great view of the lake and trees. It is very quiet so great for a relaxing vacation. The location was perfect, very close to town and restaurants, also a very easy drive to Portland. The house had everything we needed and Mary is a wonderful host, very responsive. We would all definitely recommend it!

Overall the cottage was cute with a beautiful peekaboo view of the lake. It’s historic, so expect a dark home with a lot of creaky noises from floor and beds. Unfortunately, the beds kept each other up and the “surprise “ train came every morning at 2:50am and 6:00am. It was disturbingly loud. The bathrooms were well appointed. WiFi was good.

What a wonderful home! This cottage has a unique blend of old world charm and modern conveniences. Built almost 100 years ago, the house is immaculately preserved. And Mary, the owner, has found a way to remodel the kitchen, baths and A/C to modern standards making for an ideal vacation stay. We enjoyed the patio with its lake views, walks in the lovely neighborhood, and even the occasional train, which did not wake us. This is truly a visit we will cherish. Thanks Mary!

The house was amazing. Mary was wonderful; very responsive whenever I had any questions. The house has a view of the lake and was a wonderful place to stay while we dropped our daughter off at college nearby. We have already booked the house for parents weekend!

As soon as we walked in, the house felt like home. It was well stocked with everything we needed. The back patio was beautiful and a very relaxing place for breakfast and late night cocktails. The property was very clean.

Easy check-in, exactly what we needed. Beautiful, clean place with amazing separate sleeping areas and an awesome view of the lake! So much amazing history and art tucked away in this house. Thank you so much for opening it up to us! Will easily be our new weekend getaway! 5/5

This was a wonderful place to stay in preparation of our daughters wedding . The upstairs bedrooms and bathroom was wonderful and gave our family including our three year old grandson plenty of room to spread out. We all loved the location of the house and would recommend if wanting a quiet place to stay in lake Oswego .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very well furnished to make your stay a pleasant experience. We prepared several great meals there. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor terrace with a view of the Lake was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Oswego.

We were dropping our 18 year old daughter off at college, and we stayed here as a family to see her off. The home is beautiful, incredibly well equipped, the view is amazing. It felt like home and was a perfect place to experience this momentous occasion. Very home-like!

Mary’s home was a wonderfully cozy yet luxurious base to explore the area from. It is filled with beautiful furniture and decorations that made us feel like guests of her home rather than a hotel. We enjoyed a full kitchen to cook meals in but takeout/delivery options were great too (particularly good sushi in the area). The trains managed to wake us each night but otherwise the neighborhood and neighbors were charming. We would love to stay there again.

We stayed here for a month while closing on and moving in to our new home nearby. It was such a peaceful place to have while we navigated the chaos of moving. We were actually quite sad to leave! The photos just do not do it enough justice! We felt like we were staying in a friends home; everything was just as one could want and need and so peaceful. A beautiful half mile walk in to the center of town. Highly recommend!

This cottage is almost a century old and retains all of the charming style with several valuable modern amenities. The owner was very available as we worked thru getting the place cleaned and set up for a long stay. Once we were settled we enjoyed all of the benefits of this location, which is a nice walk from downtown Lake Oswego with a high overview of the lake. The daily train activity out back became a familiar sound, just like the sound of speedboats pulling people on water toys. We left with several good memories of a great summer a the cottage!

We stayed for the weekend with our two grown children over Mothers Day and my husband’s birthday while our house was having some work done. Mary was so easy to work with and the home was perfect when we arrived. Kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals, and the cottage has all the comforts of a good home. The homey cottage is lovely, and the view picturesque. We especially enjoyed spending time on the back patio watching the lake and all the birds. The train woke us the first night because it was blowing the horn but we never noticed it again. This weekend is now a favorite family memory for us.
