About this bed and breakfast

Our brand new sunny guesthouse brings vibrant colors and textures to the walls and creates a fun and inviting space. The decor features cultural references from Spain, Andalucian stairs, a touch of green tropicalia, and Art Deco styles for a fun villa feel. Nearby are the Lily Ponds Aquatic Park, the Metro, and quick access to downtown DC and its iconic landmarks. Our guesthouse is well-equipped with a full-sized fridge, washer-dryer in unit, electric cooktop, and a full shower bathroom. Bottom floor has integrated kitchen/living room with dining table and a comfortable sofa bed. There is also patio furniture available if you want to chill out on the shared deck. The home has very high ceilings and is two floors. Iron and ironing board available, as is a pack-n-play for those traveling with small kids. Free street parking is always available in front of the home, so that is never a concern -- something rare for DC! Please note the main home on the property may be rented out as well, but both homes are independent and have their own separate entrances. As many other areas in DC, it is an up and coming neighborhood with many young families moving in to enjoy both nature and its convenient location steps from the city center.

Decided on friday to spend a couple days in DC with family. The house is super cute, very clean and the beds were comfy. Everything we needed was there for a nice stay. The host got back to me with any questions within minutes and they are very nice. I loved my stay here. I have never been to DC so I know nothing about neighborhoods and this one can be a little scary. When I went to Safeway to pick up some breakfast the windows on the cvs right next door to Safeway were boarded up. It actually reminded me a few places in NYC. The neighborhood I stay in doesn't matter to me as much how the host interacts with with me. I would definitely stay with them again. The host made the experience very nice.

We never received the key code on the day of our check-in so we had to call, and they informed us that the property was not ready. They were very responsive and put us in the other property on site for the first night. Everyone was very pleasant and responsive and both properties were great but ultimately it was very inconvenient that it wasn’t ready and we had to move after the first night.

We were visiting DC for 3 days. This was fine for our family, the boys slept on the couch/futon but older children/adults may find this uncomfortable. Amenities were fine for how long we were there. Bedroom is up a steep set of stairs so if that’s an issue I would not stay here. The metro nearby was closed for renovations but we drove to the capital heights station and parked there all day for $5 and rode the metro around town.

This is a great option to book with the home. Climate control is in the main home and that can be a pain. Also, the incline on the stairs is very very high. Older folks should not use the guest home. The stairs are pretty intimidating. Aside from that, perfect stay. I appreciate the property managers for their communication.

The property is very clean, probably not totally recommended for real old people because of the stairs. Needed dish towels for the kitchen. Need a shower caddy of some type to put your products while taking a shower. Convenient to downtown and convenient for loading and unloading.

My two friends and I stayed here over the long weekend. Nhu was very helpful and responsive to and and all requests. The one main issue we had was with the temperature in the unit. The main house has access to the thermostat, but the guest house does not, meaning the guests in the guests house are completely at the mercy of the guests in the main house. For us, the downstairs was always cold (even with the space heater on) and the upstairs was incredibly warm. We closed the vents, opened the windows, etc, but didn't get to a stable temperature where everyone was comfortable- we were either sweating or freezing. Otherwise, the place was clean. I would recommend you to bring your own body wash as the shower is only stocked with shampoo and conditioner. I would also recommend to the property manager that having the guest house guests take out the trash and put it on the curb is a little much to ask. If you have cleaners come anyway, I would say have them deal with the trash because it felt like we were encroaching on the main house guests when we went to the trash cans on the side of the house.
