River view guesthouse getaway, affectionately known as "The Racoon House", offers open concept newly renovated kitchen; cozy gas fireplace in living room to enjoy conversation, games, take care of business, or catch up with facebook friends with wireless internet provided. Our house comfortably sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms with one king, one full and 2 twin beds. The two bathrooms have showers and 1 has a shower/tub combo. If you need it, full laundry facilities are on the main level. Enjoy coffee and conversation indoor or outside on "flora and fauna" landscaped property. Downtown LeClaire is blocks away providing shopping, distilleries, restaurants, Buffalo Bill museum and American Pickers sights. The Raccoon House is located 1 block from Mississippi River with nearby boat launch and it is 8-10 minutes away from TBK Sports complex (via nearby 1-80), shopping, movies, restaurants and casinos. Minimum 2 nights stay. Discount provided for extended stays. You are always welcome here!

The house and grounds are beautiful.
Karen, our host, was welcoming and very helpful and gave us a tour of the house when we arrived. She kept in contact during our stay and gave us helpful information regarding restaurants and sites.
The house is beautiful and we lacked for nothing.
The raccoon house is a gem and I know we will be back.

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the property. It was located close to the wedding we were there to attend which made things easy for us. The hosts were friendly and very helpful, especially when my husband had some special needs..

It was just wonderful! Beautiful huge yard and gardens. Nice sitting areas on patio and porch. There was every possible thing you could need in the kitchen. Washer and dryer too! Loved the train whistles nearby! Everything was close by, and the Channel Cat was great for the price! We just couldn’t
fit everything in….would like to go back sometime! The owners kept giving us great ideas and restaurants to try! They shared their darling cavapoos with us, so got our dog fix when we wanted it🐾

Clean, organized, accommodating. Perfect fit for what we were looking for as four adults and two softball players were in the area for weekend softball tournament. Nice to be able to come back and relax after/between games. The house had everything we needed. Will book in the future.

I was up for a family reunion with my son and 2 older grandchildren. Everyone had a room to hide away in or a main room to spend time together. The property was nicely manicured and was nice to stroll around in. I felt comfortable in the area and knowing the owners were close by.

We had a great experience from booking all the way through check out. Shawn and Karen were exceptionally nice and prompt with answering any questions we had. The property itself was amazing and super cute with the raccoon theme and the story behind it. The house had everything we needed and was well kept along with the outdoor spaces. It is in a super convienient location as well. We definitely plan to stay here again in the future when we return to visit family in that area!

Great house for our family. Stairs may make it tricky for families with young walkers but we were able to make it work for us. Beautiful garden.. The whole property was a real respite for us during our vacation.

Host were very nice when we arrived and house was beautiful. House was stocked so we didn't need anything additional. Lots of kitchen items to cook with plus bedding. Highly recommend this house it was great. If we stay in the area again we will come back to this house.

This quaint, comfortable home was a delight! Flowers, gardens and trees galore greet you and create a peaceful, calming atmosphere. The house is charmingly decorated with raccoon art and is equipped with all necessities for your stay!

Very clean and comfortable. Beds were wonderful. Beautiful grounds full of interesting plants and decorations. We were met by our very nice host and had all of our questions answered. One other review mentioned being bothered by a train noises. I am sensitive to loud noises and wondered if this would be a problem. It was not!! I think we only heard the train once and it was actually very nice...kind of homey, in a midwestern kind of way. House was very roomy, has quirky and cute decorations, and was so relaxing. Beautifully appointed kitchen and we found ourselves needing nothing but our clothing. The neighborhood was very safe and has a beautiful woods bordering one side and lots of trees, lawn and foliage. Property sits high and gives a view in the distance of the river. Rental was much more than ad describes! Definitely will be staying again!!

Family Rendezvous
We had a wonderful time at the Raccoon House. Plenty of room for 2 couples and 2 young children to enjoy. There are lots of local sites and activities to see and do. Our hosts were very accommodating. Very nice yard/ gardens. They keep the property very clean and orderly. This was the perfect spot for our 4 day stay traveling from Missouri and Wisconsin to meet half way. Very likely to return here to Raccoon House.

Family Reunion
This was great accommodations for my sisters and I plus our husbands to share when we were in Le Claire for a family reunion. The nice lg kitchen was wonderful and of course the numerous ‘Raccoon’ decorations throughout the home were cute. We appreciate the work that went into restoring this home and beautiful garden yard along Cody Road.
