Lakeside Paradise in Blue Ridge Mountains
About this cabin rental
Must be at least 25 years of age to book. Welcome to Eagles Peak! Eagles Peak is a charming 3BR/2BA cabin near the shore of pristine Watauga Lake, a lakeside paradise nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hot tub on the spacious deck has sweeping views of the mountains and lake. There is a picnic table, rocking chairs, and a gas grill for an outdoor barbecue on the wraparound porch. Guests can bring their own equipment for water activities and will enjoy the convenience of having dock access with an Eagles Peak boat slip. Mallard Cove Marina, Fish Springs Marina, and Lakeshore Resort Marina offering boat rentals and more, are less than 30 minutes from Eagles Peak. The main area is open and bright, with warm hardwood details and natural light pouring in from the wall of windows. The living room centers around a stone fireplace with gas logs. A large flat-screen TV, Alexa technology, and ample leather seating make it a cozy gathering place. A dining table for six is open to the well-stocked kitchen with labeled cabinets for ease of orienting yourself. Along with the standard pots and pans, the kitchen includes a crock pot, Keurig and drip pot coffee makers, and communal coffee pods and spices. (These items are for guests to use, restocked at intervals by the owner, and often supplemented by leftovers from happy guests). A foosball table in the main area provides fun family entertainment. There is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and a step stool for kids. The master king bedroom on the main floor has a flat-screen TV. There is access from this bedroom to the porch and 180-degree views out over Watauga Lake. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms. One is a king bedroom with a flat-screen TV and a private balcony overlooking the lake. There is seating on the balcony, a perfect place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. The second bedroom is a bunk room with a twin-over-full bed and a large flat-screen TV with an Xbox game system. These rooms share a full bathroom with a kid's step stool and a combination tub and shower. This home is pet-friendly and allows up to two dogs with a reservation. Standard pet fees will apply. There is a Blu-ray player in the house and USB charging ports thorough out the cabin. A whole-house generator will provide power even in an outage. The owners have provided a canoe for your enjoyment on the lake. There are multiple life vests in the cabin for your safety on the water. The paved driveway can accommodate up to 3-4 cars, and the access to the home is 5 steps up to the porch. There is boat and trailer parking at the bottom of the driveway for guests. Please do not park trailers at the top of the driveway. Additional public parking for boats and trailers is available on a first-come, first-served basis alongside the road near Dock B. This shared dock is accessed by the stairs from the road. Adventures such as boating, swimming, water-skiing, fishing, tubing, and many others are outside the back door. Nice cabin with amazing potential but needs lots of maintenance.

Absolutely amazing place with a beautiful home. In the mornings we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch and listened to the birds sing and the fish jumping in the lake. Nature's beauty. What a blessing for us to have had the opportunity to visit this great place. Definitely recommend.

The house is very nice and the views of lake and mountains are beautiful. Thank you for a lovely place.

This is a great home! The owners have put in nice touches that make the stay easy, including Echo Dots in every room, a Bluetooth speaker system, and a fabulous hot ton over looking the lake. The deck with the covered area that includes the picnic table was a favorite spot. The management company was very prompt with communication and very helpful. It was great that the home came with a canoe and life jackets. Made us want to buy a lake house! The one and only challenge were the very steep steps to the dock from the road, and that the staircase was not well maintained. It’s a shared dock and access so presumably not the responsibility of the owner. Nonetheless, we had many hours of fishing and swimming from the dock and the canoe. Thank you for our best vacation ever!!

The cabin is lovely and spacious with a perfect lake view! Very clean. The driveway is steep but my little hybrid made it up just fine! Everything in the kitchen is labeled and there are so many little extras in the kitchen. I would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed staying the house was amazing and the boys loved the Xbox in the kids room. Just wish they had more game options. Loved the gates blocking entrances and exits. The hot tub was wonderful! The driveway is steep and the truck was unable to make the turn at the top in one pass. The B Dock was under water along with the bottom of the stairs so we were unable to get to it on the first day. The stairs to the dock are steep and feeling soft. I would suggest making the dock floating so it doesn’t matter if the water level is high. The dock does need maintenance. The lake had a lot of trash. The fishing was good and we appreciate having access to canoes.

2nd day at location water turned dirty dirty brown...reported issue and they did respond however did NOT resolve problem...this water was NOT drinkable nor shower worthy...truly spoiled what was to that point a good time...will not return...

The cabin was beautiful, the driveway a bit of a challenge. Staying in spring wasn't that good of a idea because water levels were so high. Couldn't get on the dock. All in all beautiful quiet place

The property was exactly as it was shown on the site and perfect for our weekend getaway. I wish we could have stayed longer. The location was great and out of the way. It was quiet and peaceful and very relaxing. No phone signal was available and was a concern for only a few minutes and we got used to the quiet right away 😁. Having the internet and television did the trick for us. I highly recommend vrbo and this property!!!

Nice set up for folks with pets
We enjoyed our stay! It was very handy to have ways to keep pets on the deck. Great view and loved the grill and hot tub.

First the listing is not clear regarding pet fees. There is a per pet AND per night fee. For our 4 nights it was an additional $300+ surprise. At the time of booking the listing only mentioned a pet fee of $35 and “standard pet fees apply”. I responded to the company’s email with my concerns and as of now the information has not been changed.
The house itself is great, lots of natural light, great view and that hot tub! The steep driveway made me a bit nervous but there were no issues- it’s a great workout to walk up and down. If you are traveling with someone who has mobility issues, please look closely at the photos. In addition to the steep driveway, the stairs to get to the dock are also very steep. We didn’t really use the dock but I did venture down to check it out.

Where do I begin? This place was an amazing stay!
Between the hot tub, the gorgeous views, and the inclusion of all the wants and necessities. Eagle's Peak is a 100% recommend for a quiet getaway for just you or the whole family.

Quiet lakeside
Nice house on the quiet side of the lake. Great views. The lake access was a bit of a steep walk carrying gear for the boat. The hot tub was lovely! Nice grill too.

The home was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need. The grill outside was newer and clean. I loved all of the gates around the outside deck. We had our granddaughter in her walker and she would go all over without the chance of falling down some steps. I would say my biggest and basically only complaint would be not having enough information ahead of time regarding the steep driveway and no place to park our boat trailer. The driveway is so steep you are unable to bring a boat trailer up to the home. The next day we drove around to 4 different marinas and NO ONE would let us leave the trailer at their marina even for $. We met a guy at a local convenience store and he let us park it on his property for the long weekend. We gave him $100 for this. Also, when walking down the driveway to boat dock B, you have to go down some very step stairs which would be very difficult for children. This would be also helpful to know as you have to haul everything down the steep driveway and then of course back up at the end of the day. Which was not so easy for my pregnant daughter in law. The last evening we saw a bear swimming across the lake and get out on the other side. that was pretty exciting, not something you see every day. The lake was beautiful and would love to come back but probably not to this home with its location and parking issues.

The house was very comfortable. We loved the seclusion it offered and the lake and surrounding nature were stunningly beautiful. The house is wired for sound and you can sync up your phone and listen to your music throughout. The hot tub is state of the art and provided for some amazing midnight soaks while looking at the moon and stars above. The kitchen is fully stocked with every utensil, cookware, and dish you could ask for. I even brought my own crock pot and was surprised to see they had one just like mine.
The only negative thing I have to say about the experience had nothing to do with the house, but rather the stairs leading to the community dock where the property owners provide a slip. In my professional opinion, they are in need of replacement. I've been in construction management for 21 years and these stairs would not even be allowed for temporary means of access on a jobsite let alone permanent use for the general public. Although made of pressure treated lumber, the stringers and treads are dried out , splitting and with each step the wood flexes, bows, and creaks (I'm 5'-11" @180lbs). The handrails are lower than allowed in building code and with a natural land slope exceeding 6o degrees you will want a hand to keep you steady, especially if you are carrying coolers and gear. I am sure the stairs are managed by an HOA, and hopefully this review will be a catalyst to get them corrected as failure while someone is walking on them is not if, but when.

The whole process was seamless, just make sure to have the key code and WIFI code saved before you get there……no cell service. The house quiet, private, and so peaceful with a great deck overlooking the lake. Overall a great week!

We really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and beautiful lake and hills. The hot tub was a definite pleasure. We did feel compelled to contact management on arrival about the cloudy water and low level, which they responded to with treatment. We would have appreciated a more timely callback. They stressed a shower prior to hot tub use but shower was not in operation..a hose was provided. The dock was not accessible due to massive amounts of debris.
House paperwork indicated access availability down a neighbor's driveway. However,
posted signs on property prohibited use. It would have been nice to have a kayack to use. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay at Eagles Point.

This property exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and cozy. The furniture and beds were comfy and the kitchen was very well stocked. We had fun with the hot tub and my son was thrilled to have an x-box to play with. The view from the porch was beautiful and the winery 5 minutes away was a nice surprise! If we're in the area again, we'd love to stay there again.
