Free on-site laundry Guest Access: Entire Condo, Pool Area The Neighborhood: No View - Dunedin is home to several beaches, including Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island, and Caladesi Island State Park, which is consistently rated among the best beaches in the world. Dunedin is one of the few open waterfront communities from Sarasota to Cedar Key where buildings do not completely obscure the view of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico beyond; a 1-mile stretch of Edgewater Drive (also known as Alternate US 19) south of downtown offers views of St. Joseph Sound, Clearwater Beach, and Caladesi Island. Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach are a 6-mile drive south on Edgewater. The downtown business district is notable for its absence of large commercial signage, corporate franchise restaurants or chain retail stores. The Pinellas Trail, a 39-mile-long bicycle and pedestrian trail that traverses all of Pinellas County, bisects downtown Dunedin. A large portion of the trail lies on the former roadbed of the Orange Belt Railway, the first railroad in Pinellas County, which arrived in 1888. Since 1977, Dunedin is the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as the class-A Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League. Dunedin is one of the smallest communities used by Major League spring training teams, although surrounded by a large metropolitan area. Florida Auto Exchange Stadium is situated next to the Dunedin Public Library a few blocks south of downtown on Douglas Avenue, and is just two blocks east of Edgewater Drive. The stadium was built as a replacement to Grant Field, the Blue Jays' first spring training ball park. The library was founded in 1895 and is the oldest public library in Pinellas County. Scottish families originally settled Dunedin in the nineteenth century. John W. Marston, one of the earliest settlers, was a skilled carpenter and citrus farmer who provided work for many who came to the area. Two Scotsmen, J.O. Douglas and James Sumerville, named the settlement Dunedin, the original name of Edinburgh, their hometown in Scotland. First settled in 1852, Dunedin has the distinction of being the oldest town south of Cedar Key, Florida. With a dock built to accommodate larger sailing vessels, Dunedin became one of Florida's chief seaport and trading centers and at one time it had the largest fleet of sailing vessels in the state. Dunedin became incorporated as a town in 1899 in part as a response to numerous complaints about pigs running rampant in the settlement, leading to a still-standing ban on livestock within city limits. By 1913, the town had a population of only 350. It became incorporated as the City of Dunedin in 1925. Getting Around: Unit is close to bus line and is Uber and Lyft Friendly Other Things to Note: This NEWLY renovated studio condominium has just the right amount of space for two. The property was as advertised, but needs some repairs. For example, one of the patio door deadbolts is broken out of the door frame, and the door is hard to open. Other parts of the condo are looking a bit shabby too, and could use some caulk and paint.
The condo appeared generally clean, but the glass cooktop had a greasy film and streaks on it and looked a little gross. Given that, and the fact that the unit has no dishwasher I wasn't confident that the cups and glasses in the cupboard were truly clean, so I washed them before use.
Other than that, the unit was perfectly serviceable, in a convenient location, and had a nice pool area. One thing that was a little odd in the building design was that there was a single elevator at one end of the building, and you have to zig-zag around each unit to get to yours. That was a bit of a chore dragging wheelie suitcases.

We stayed here in order to be near friends in Dunedin. It is a great location. Having the bar Marker 8 located here is a bonus. Our studio had everything we needed. Plenty of towels. The view wasn't great, but we were out and about most of the time so we did not use the patio. The pool chairs could be more comfortable, but we didn't spend a lot of time there. Friendly people at the office.

Love location. Have stayed here numerous times. Wish all rooms had a sofa/loveseat to watch tv at night. A mop would be nice too.

Room was efficiency and complete. Checkin had to be verified with checkin personnel on site.. Beach towels had to be requested. No soap or shampoo provided. No room service provided (towels, sheets, etc). No beach access. Two pools available. Tiki bar was good given the limits of access.

We arrived very late for check in. Our door keys were in a basket at the base of the stairs, so all good!
The photos of the unit makes it look bright and airy which is deceiving. The room has a single overhead light. The only light in the kitchenette is in the microwave. It was hard to see at times. What I thought was the color of the formica turned out to be a big coffee spill all along the back of the cooktop. The bed was sunken on both sides and pillows were too firm. Bring your own pillow if you can! The sheets kept coming loose from the mattress during the night and they were pilled and rough. All that made for a terrible five nights for me. We were given a roll of paper towels, used soap bars and a dishwasher pod. The unit does not have a dishwasher. You're told to buy whatever else you need which was a major pain since we didn't have a car. The elevator was on the far side from our unit which made for a lot of zigzagging. It was much quicker for us to take the stairs that were not far away. The bathroom has only a screenless window for ventilation. The windowpane fell out and broke on the walkway outside while we were gone for the day. We returned to an open window where anyone could have climbed in. The host was responsive and had the staff at the resort board it up with duct tape. It took 4 days for the glass to be replaced, but still no screen, and thankfully nothing was missing from our room.
We were away on our last day until 9:30PM when I received the checkout email saying we were to launder the owners towels. I'm sorry but, I didn't have time to launder three small dish towels that I used to clean up a coffee stain that the host failed to do in the first place.
That last night, we killed two giant cockroaches. I informed the host to call pest control. Sorry, but I would not stay in this unit again.

Dunedin stay
Was a nice property. Good location and easy checkin. Only downside was there were ants in some places and there weren’t enough garbage bags and toilet paper

Short vacation
Central location, nice to have the tiki bar available. The heater for the resort pool was broken the entire time we were there. There was another pool but it was by the bar & very noisy. Okay for a short stay.

We loved the whole place. We had four two bedroom condos. We loved the facility, the bikes, the pool, hot tub, and laundry room were just a few things we enjoyed. The location was close to everything . I would have loved some better pillows but I am a pillow snob and usually travel with my own and forgot mine.

Nice location close to Honeymoon Island. Bathroom super small! Email communication from rental company does not match the posting by the bed in the room. Rental Co. did answer communication in a timely manner. We were provided new sheets upon request due to stained sheets on the bed.

The picture is better then in person. Had AC and TV issues. Very poor room lighting and no light by kitchen area. AC doesn’t reach the bathroom. Room needs a mirror.

Beso del sol is a nice resort and conveniently located near downtown. Many good restaurants and shops nearby. The on site restaurant is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy good food.

The check-in was really easy and ready to go with the instructions, but some details frustrated us, they didn't have beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels , it says some units have it. Call the people that manage the VRBO and they didn't have idea of it and they told me that they will call back, they never did, We have to buy everything and left to them when we left. Also charge for owner fee and double taxes. The property doesn't worth it. For some stuff you have to reach the complex management and for the others to the VRBO people. The mattress was old and very uncomfortable, The beach is like 5 miles away, we were lucky to have a rental car.Unfortunately it wasn't that we expected.

Just Right!
Perfectly clean and compact space was just right for our four night stay. There is plenty of parking and it was nice to sit and relax with a cocktail at Marker 8 in the evening. The only thing we could have used was another luggage stand, rather than put a suitcase on the floor or one of the chairs. Great stay and would return!

The long zig zag walk to to room from the elevator would not be good for a lot of people
