The Villa is new construction (December 2016) and offers a canal front pool, shaded patio area, private lit dock, dock ladder and ropes, fish cleaning station, covered parking and room for your trailer! An ocean front neighborhood beach is just a couple minutes drive or 10 minute walk! With it's coastal feel decor and all it's amenities, the villa is Island Living at it's best! ~Hop on your boat from your private dock for a day of fishing, snorkeling, diving and boating ~ minutes from open water and a few Nautical Miles from the reef! ~Cook your catch in the fully equipped luxury kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops or on the gas grill by the pool! The house is just as pictured. Super clean! We had plenty of room and loved having a space to dock the boat we rented. There’s ample space for parking 4 vehicles plus a trailer. My girls loved the pool toys that came with the house.
The pool was the perfect size! Upon our arrival the pool was 95 degrees. It felt like a hot tub! We contacted the property manager and she sent over someone to chill the pool for us. He was there within an hour or so. He was very nice and helpful and showed us how to control the pool chiller if we wanted to make it a little cooler on our stay. He also aired up the bike tires while there. I will say, it cost us an extra $145 to have the pool chilled while we were there! I feel like that is something that should be done automatically before check in, being in south Florida. I found it a very steep price that we had to pay extra based on what we already paid for the house. We had no choice but to pay because there was no way we could have enjoyed the pool with the temperature it was upon arrival.
I also want to warn any future guest about the biting gnats! They were awful in the mornings and evenings. They ate my girls up! There may be nothing that can done to control this, but future guests should bring bug spray! It might be a good idea for the property manager to set out some Off candles or tiki torches that repel bugs in the future. However, that would not hinder my decision to book this property again! It is a great property!

Everything was just as listed! We had an awesome time. Walked to Sombrero beach. Beautiful sunsets from the private pool and balcony. Rode bikes and close to grocery and all the great places to eat. Will be back next year

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Sombrero Heaven! The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We decided to bring our boat since the house had a private dock to use and the pool was a perfect way to end each day. Excellent communication with the property manager, Meredith! We absolutely would stay here again!!

Above expectations!
Not only was the property perfect, the property management (Meredith) went well above and beyond with her communications, was extremely helpful and genuinely kind. She was the epitome of customer service with a smile.

Paradise in Marathon
A phenomenal place to stay and we had 9 people in the house. A lot of room and immaculately finished (the pictures don’t even show the new couch on the porch)! The outdoor area was a perfect place to spend the afternoon and relax or swim.

The house is clean and in a really great location. Close to shopping and to the beach. The owners might want to put a little money into updating things. The “queen” beds they have listed are terribly small. Slightly larger than a full and slightly smaller than a queen (I’m in interior design, and I measured). It wasn’t a huge deal because there were only two couples and then a bunch of kids, so the kids slept fine on them. I ended up sleeping on the couch. Once the kids were up I’d head upstairs to try and get a little nap on a real bed, but the one I slept on the springs were pretty much shot. You could tell they were old beds.
Blackout curtains would be nice, as the rooms get super bright once that sun is up. The blinds that they have do very little to block the sun out. We noticed the property next door had two large paddle boards, and two kayaks, new bikes and just overall seemed to be better appointed. This property is kinda bare bones. Bikes are older, they did have a couple beach chairs, I bought a beach umbrella and added it to what looks like a hodge lodge of things people have purchased and left behind.
I may be particular, but it’s these little updates that make things more relaxing and enjoyable. They should pour some money into updating their mattresses (king beds in all the rooms would be ideal), linens, and some curtains (in addition to the blinds, which are pretty useless and most of which are broken). If you are able, I’d look at the place directly next door. It seems like they’ve really thought of everything. They have a nice covered tiki hut by the pool, with really nice pool chairs and loungers, the paddle boards, and kayaks.... didn’t see the inside, but I’m sure it’s similar. Overall, our place was “meh” to “okay” but if I were you, I’d keep looking until updates are made.

Enjoyed the outside amenities of Marathon. Definitely great to be close to Sombrero Beach and 7 mile bridge area. The street is busy so there is noise. It does have a great walking/biking path from Route 1 to Sombrero Beach. Some appliances and outside items are showing their age. Kitchen is not equipped for significant cooking.

This was a wonderful property for our family vacation. The location was great- close to the beach, on canal for boat access, close to restaurants & grocery store, close enough to Key West for an easy day trip. Family vacation
This was a wonderful property for our family vacation. The location was great- close to the beach, on canal for boat access, close to restaurants & grocery store, close enough to Key West for an easy day trip. All I have to say is congrats to the management team, every little detail in it's place, and extremely clean.
I felt the quality of the lines, towels, utensils, mattresses, silver wear, appliances were high-end to top it off with beautiful decor you are in deed getting your moneys worth.
Will definitely come back or rent with the same property manager company again!

I would completely recommend this property for the entire family young and old! The property is clean, the pool and dock are amazing! Everything you need for an amazing vacation and centrally located to all the stores and activities you need. We would definitely use this property again.

Good Vibes
This property was better than the pictures. Clean, comfortable, plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The best part was the nice cold, salt water pool. It was wonderful to come back from a hot day fishing and snorkeling on the boat and jump in the pool. Great location close to beach and groceries.

Beautiful sunsets and snorkeling!!
The house was exactly as pictured and situated in a wonderful spot close to Sombrero beach and everything we needed! The dock made having our boat with us easy! We enjoyed several days of diving and snorkeling at Sombrero Reef not far off Sombrero Beach. We saw a myriad of beautiful tropical fish and corals as well as Nurse sharks, giant grouper and ancient sea turtles. Our stay was full of wonderful experiences and we now have lasting memories! Would definitely rent this home again.

Marathon with boat dock
Perfect vacation. Clean and great to have pool and Dock for boating and snorkeling! Just a bit far in canals but well worth it! Duplex well equipped but could use beach towels, we had to purchase some for our stay !

Great place
Excellent villa/duplex more than enough room. Very nice. A bit of a drive to the gulf but enjoyable. Marathon has so much more to offer than other keys we love it here.

Fabulous Marathon Vacation Spot
Fabulous! Our party of eight (4 couples) had an amazing week at Sombrero Heaven! The house is perfectly appointed with everything you need for a memorable week! We really enjoyed the brand new grill! Property Manager Meredith was so kind and accommodating and went over and above to make our visit perfect! Location couldn’t have been better....walking/ biking distance to gorgeous Sombrero Beach, Publix, San Pablo Catholic Church and restaurants.....short drive to Big Pine Key (visited relative’s home) and Key West to enjoy golf, food, drinks and the gorgeous Key West Pier sunset! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for everything!

It was truly Sombrero Heaven
This house is amazing. 8 adults and 2 kids and there was never a minute that you felt cramped. Pool was great with the patio/grill area and the dock was perfect for our rental boat. The bedrooms are perfect and the kitchen had everything we needed.
We loved our time there and looking to return. Meredith was a pleasure to work with from day one and made it so easy.!

Great family amenities
We absolutely loved staying at Sombrero Heaven. Between two families totalling 4 adults and four kids, 4 yrs old and under, we had plenty of space and all the amenities we needed from toys to a pack-n-play. We got most of our groceries in Florida city as prices were a bit better than those in Marathon but we were glad to have the local stores for ice cream and other ingredients we needed once we got there. We cooked almost all of our meals at home with plenty of kitchen space and a large dining table we could all enjoy sitting together. It was so nice to be equipped with a crockpot, blender, coffee maker, toaster and bbq. The pool was a bit warm the first couple days but we were thrilled when the pool guy came and was able to turn on a cooling system. We rented a couple kayaks locally and were able to launch from the boat dock fairly easily and enjoyed paddling all the way out to the beach. Overall, beautiful home, relaxing atmosphere, centrally located. We could not have asked for a better stay!
