We had amazing time! So peaceful and quiet! Thank you for letting us stay! If we come back to Asheville we will be staying here again if it's not booked.

Liked the short drive to downtown but did not enjoy the neighborhood around the house

Overall our stay was okay. We noticed around the house where it’s not been kept up in regards to cleaning. Walls, baseboards/moldings, wall art, light fixture/exhaust fan were dirty and coated in dust. It was apparent that the house hadn’t been deep clean in quite sometime. Bedding, bathroom, and living area would be considered basic cleanliness. We also reached out to host by phone, since we were arriving early if we could access house early. The host sent a message only and didn’t try calling us back. Luckily we had notifications on to receive the message. A phone call in the same communication manner would had been nice though since we were allowed to enter early we were appreciative. Overall we gave a 4 because it was just ok. We had a clean bed, clean spot to sit, and a somewhat clean bathroom to utilize.

We wanted something out of the downtown area, but close enough to hop into town. It was short and simple drive. If you go heavy at the local breweries, you will need a rideshare. Very clean and quiet. We saw turkeys post up on the fence outside of the door. Bears were viewed a mile down the road. The house has all of the amenities needed for a longer stay. If we come back to Ashville, we will stay here again.

I needed a place while my own house was under repair. This was the perfect setting. Quiet. Clean. And a few bears to add spice to the day. I imagine it would be a lovely place in the spring when the bears and their cubs are out roaming. And close enough to anything you need on Tunnel Road. The owner was readily available.

This little house was on a road that was steep and narrow , with barely enough room to turn around in front of the house, This made it impossible to go out after dark. The neighborhood was full of junker cars and an old semi trailer that could have been there for years. There were no screens on the windows. I opened the windows to get air and my bed room had about 50 beetles in it within minutes. The vacumn smelled of wet dog hair and soon so did the house. Don't go there.

The house is very comfortable and clean in a quiet setting. There are a few missing amenities, like a hair dryer and dish towel, but nothing major. They have an excellent outdoor set up, perfect for watching the sunrise and enjoying the view.

Stayed a couple of days, good location, very close to Ashville, saw wild turkeys and even a bear!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and cute just what we needed for our Asheville weekend. Great location and quiet area with lots of wildlife to watch from the porch.

We traveled with 4 adults and one dog on a road trip. This was our second stop on the trip and we really enjoyed Asheville! The house was cute and had everything we needed. FYI to renters - this place only had a Keurig so unfortunately the ground coffee we brought, we couldn't use. The owner did have 4 pods for us but those were gone after the first morning! If you're a coffee drinker, you might want to plan ahead. The instructions/directions to the property are accurate but definitely tripped us up after a long day of driving - don't give up! This property and the views from the porch are worth it. We saw a few bears over the days we stayed and heard coyotes. The drive to Asheville-area stuff was easy and we really loved the River Arts District, checking out the breweries, and the easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Would definitely recommend this home and stay again should we find ourselves in the area.

Perfect short stay in Asheville area, right off the highway, and straight up the hill...Bears were fun to watch... from a distance

It was a lovely, peaceful home. A great place to relax!

Cute little cottage with everything you need. It's no frills but very pleasant. On the side of a mountain but still close to town. Bears are abundant and clearly invited by the neighbors. Super cool to see them but a little unnerving when you are by yourself:)

We vacation to Buncombe County the times a year. This is a great spot for travelers with pets. Just of the main artery to everywhere. But feels like you are out in the country. Being so close to highland brewing for beer, live music, and food trucks without having to go into town is a big plus. Will confirm some other reviews. Saw the bear, the turkeys, and deer. The mattress in the main bedroom isn't up to par. We slept on the smaller bed as that one was way better. Stop and get your own coffee supplies. Renter only supplied two k cups no cream or sugar. Small downsides to an otherwise overwhelming positive stay.
Host, just a couple of thoughts to compare this to other vrbo renters ... update that mattress, provide some more coffee options, and supply two baby gates so the renters can sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful outdoors with thier pets and this would be a five star spot all day long. Hope to see the upgrades next time we stay 😀

Stayed at Cottage #1 for the weekend with college aged children. Needed to be in Haw Creek for a family reunion at the Rendevous restaurant, just minutes away. Perfect location!
Saw bears and turkeys, had everything at the cottage that we needed and were minutes from downtown, the River Arts district and West Asheville.
Home was immaculate and the deck is brilliant! Will definitely try to stay again!

Great location. Good size house for a weekend. Entertaining bears.

Convenient to central Asheville, yet remote enough to feel far away and quiet. We even saw wild turkeys about, and some bears frolicking just down the hill one afternoon! Found the cottage to be clean, cozy, and well appointed. Landlord great to deal with. Loved it.

The property was cozy and clean and well appointed. The most interesting thing about our stay was the fact that there were large black bears wandering close to or on the property.

Great rental close to downtown Asheville (minutes) and short drives to outdoor attractions like chimney rock and biltmore. HIGHLY recommend !! We made the drive up to the home in our minivan no problem - only thing I’d say is it’d be tough in a sports car.

It is located in a nice area and my son & I enjoyed our stay.

Very close to downtown Asheville, but in nature so we got to see a bear (from a distance) and a turkey in the yard. Very quiet and relaxing after a day of touring Asheville.
The beds were a little firm for our taste, but otherwise the cottage was very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening watching the fireflies.

Great location up in the hills with pretty morning views. Cottage was very spacious, clean and comfortable for our family of 4 plus our dog. Loved seeing all the bears! Fantastic stay, would highly recommend.

Quiet setting with mountain but close to restaurants, stores and downtown Asheville. Had to get used to the narrow mountain roads again (we left the area 30 years ago) but worth the drive. Had bears visit our yard several times.

First of all, follow the directions the host sends to you and not Google maps. Especially not in the dark. When arriving and could see around the view was quite beautiful. There was a family of black bears that liked to lounge around in the yard of the house below which was fun to watch. You are in the mountains so be aware they are there but they do leave you alone if you leave them alone. The house had everything in it that we needed and was a great stay. Super close to downtown Asheville and a ton of things to do in the area. Would recommend!

We enjoyed our stay here. The winding road up to the house reminded us of home. It was close to restaurants, The Biltmore, and shopping. Sitting on the porch with my coffee and book watching the turkeys and bear were unexpected highlights. Everything was provided that we needed. I would return if in the area.

Great stay. Wonderful quiet space outside of the city, convenient to all of Asheville and surrounding areas.

Quiet, clean, lots of wildlife foe entertainment, saw black bears down below the house and wild turkeys out th front door

Wonderful cozy cottage with great views and plenty of wildlife. Perfect distance to downtown Asheville with many great local restaurants whether you want to go downtown or not. The front and side decks make for a great place to have coffee in the morning or an evening cocktail.

Pretty good time very clean and tidy little cottage neighbors were far enough for privacy

We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and very comfortable. The view from the porch was lovely. You still feel like you are in a remote part of the mountains even though you are very close to downtown. Would definitely stay again.

This place had everything we needed and convenient to Asheville. Thank you

A nice cozy little spot tucked away about 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. Everything was clean and up to date. Saw plenty of wildlife but no bears as several reviews has mentioned but I did speak with the neighbor that feeds them and apparently has 2 or 3 that come out currently in the late afternoon most days. Something to be weary of if you have pets with you. Will definitely return if I'm out that way again.

It was a nice place not too far from the city. We enjoyed the view.

I’ve stayed here quite a few times and always find it to be restorative and peaceful. The owners are very kind and quick to respond to messages. I’m grateful for the time spent at Mountain View cabin.

The cottage was lovely. it is set back off the main road so we saw some wildlife - a flock of wild turkeys hung out in the front yard

The house was clean and just as advertised. The only issue was the location, the surroundings made us a bit nervous. I blame myself for not doing a google maps view. Everything went fine and we had no issues.

The house was clean, tidy and had the necessities. The location was off the beaten path but close enough to activities. Close to nature. Would bring blow dryer if you need one.
