Come and enjoy Nature at Lakewood. The house is situated in a partially wooded setting but not far off the road and other neighboring houses. Guests shall behave in a civilized manner and shall be good neighbors, respecting the rights of surrounding property owners. No Fireworks allowed other than on July 4th. This is the perfect property for the family looking to spend time enjoying nature, bird watching, or just simply relaxing. You might even spot some deer! Try your luck fishing for bass and bluegill in the pond, or grab a good book and sit in the gazebo by the pond. A large flagstone patio with lounge chairs, patio set with umbrella and gas grill is complimented by a large backyard overlooking the pond. This property is pet friendly, so you may bring pets along to enjoy, just check the pets box on your reservation. Ample parking is available in the curved driveway and the two car garage. Make yourself at home....The house has a fully furnished kitchen, dining room has dining table with six chairs plus a large Island with two stools, Living room , relax on the reclining love seat or sofa in front of the fireplace. Enjoy wi fi throughout the house, however there is no TV. One bath downstairs with shower and one small bedroom with two single beds with drawer of children books and some toys. Washer and dryer. Upstairs, one bedroom with one queen bed and one single bed. Bathroom with whirlpool tub, double roll doors opening into bedroom with fireplace and Queen size bed. The master bedroom has a door opening outside to a balcony overlooking the pond. Fire pit in the backyard, come and enjoy! Corn hole game and Can Jam games for you to use (stored in garage). This property is family friendly with a large yard for children to play outdoors! Upstairs Garage Apartment available for rent if you need additional room. This space is not rented separately, it is an add-on to the guesthouse reservation to accommodate more guests. The apartment has a kitchen nook complete with microwave, frig, and coffee maker. Dining table with 4 chairs, foosball table, a sofa and recliner, sofa opens up into an queen size sofa bed for extra sleeping accommodations, sheets and bedding provided. Full size bed, Bathroom with stall shower and vanity completes the apartment. This space is available upon request for an additional $89 per night, plus $40 cleaning fee. Please contact us if you're interested. State Game Lands #43 is just across the road. Enjoy biking or hiking on the many miles of trails in nearby French Creek State Park. French Creek also has a public swimming pool and large children's playground area. Hopewell Lake is nearby and has canoe and boat rentals available. Historic Hopewell Furnace is within a few miles. Lakewood Retreat, located in Beautiful Berks county, is only a short distance from the Chester and Lancaster county lines. Travel to Lancaster county to see the Amish Farms and see Amish horse and buggies on the road. Valley Forge National Park and Philadelphia with all its sights are less than an hours drive away. Longwood Gardens, Harrisburg, Hershey Park, and historical Gettysburg are approximately one hour drive away.

We had a fantastic stay at Lakewood. The house layout worked perfect for a group of co workers to retreat after a long day of meetings. We enjoyed talking and laughing around the fire pit and had plenty of room inside to gather during a rainy day. Would love to come back with my family and friends. Great spot!

The Lakewood Retreat was the perfect place for a weekend away to enjoy the company of good friends. The house is beautiful and nicely updated. The property is exceptional - gorgeous landscaping, a pond with fountain, a fire pit and conveniently close to walking trails. We will definitely plan to visit again.

I rented this beautiful abode with some friends to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and we had an amazing time! The place was absolutely spotless, the kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking necessities, and the property was stunning! We were talking about coming back again before the first day was over :) HIGHLY recommend!

We had a lovely time at the Lakewood Retreat! It’s was even more beautiful than the pictures and the views from the porch were fantastic. We loved our stay here spending time with family hiking , kayaking , fishing and eating meals on the porch . Very much recommended. 🙂

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lakehouse! My family and I along with my brother and his family all loved it. The kids had a blast. The house was spotless and David was a superb host. We spent a week here this year for the 4th year in a row. It is always a peaceful/relaxing stay. Grateful for so many things to do right at the house as our rental car broke and we had no transportation for a full day. However, we still had a blast at this little slice of heaven!

The Lakewood House was perfect for 3 generations to spend 4 days together and experience "firsts" ... fishing, paddle boat , kayaks .... spending time together ... enjoying each other's company and watching cousins bond .

The property is clean and well maintained. The house is stocked with most items/kitchen appliances you would need. Based on the description, we werent quite sure what to expect of the bedrooms, but there are 3 separate bedrooms upstairs with their own doors to separate them(1 room has 2 beds) and another bunkbed room downstairs. Plenty of room to spread out inside and out. Lots of outside seating and tables.

The home is just as picture perfect/idyllic as the photos show. Meticulously maintained and well-stocked from the kitchen to the yard toys and chairs outside. Perfect location by itself on the small lake...you'll love it! We also used the apartment and recommend it to spread out the sleeping and bathrooms for groups---worth the extra price!

The property was exactly as shown on the website. View of the lake and fountain was beautiful. We lived nearby for over 30 years, and returned for a weekend to host old friends as our son and his fiance were in town.

Booked this property for a girls weekend. It was an absolutely perfect location for a good size group. The home is cozy yet spacious. It was very clean and the property is just breathtaking. Morning coffee in the gazebo watching the turtles pop out of the lake was a highlight of the trip. The firepit was great, and it was so nice that they had all the items needed to start a fire. The booking process was smooth and efficient and all of our questions were answered quickly by the host. Would effusively recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

My dog is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for his bladder cancer, and I decided to take him away to let him have some fun time. This property was absolutely amazing and the best place to getaway to relax and enjoy so quality time. I would highly recommend that you come and experience what this place has to offer!!!

We were a group of nurses who needed a quick reset from our busy schedules. The home had everything we needed for the weekend. The property was private and peaceful. The area was a little difficult to drive however with small roads and no street lights so we avoided going out at night.
There were some noises within the home like water and knocking within the pipes which didn’t bother us during the day but did wake us up at night. Since we only stayed for two nights, we didn’t make a fuss about it. I don’t think the owner knew of this issue.
The owner was very responsive when we sent messages. Which was for a non working light and the water noises. Overall, a great stay.
