Beautiful Honeymoon Cottage close to Manchester Vermont. {Manchester Center}
About this cottage rental
Located 6 miles from Manchester Center. Minutes from Bromley and Magic Mountain Ski Centers and within 25 minutes from Stratton and Okemo. Killington and Mount Snow are within a one hour drive. This beautiful hand crafted vacation home overlooks a private trout pond and also sits in the middle of a Bird Sanctuary. One bedroom hand-hewn barn nestled on brook, overlooking pond. Gourmet kitchen with Blue Star stove & greenhouse window. Free-form deck. Downstairs master bedroom has a Jacuzzi bath & for 2. This is two story cottage with small winding staircase to access downstairs bedroom. Sits on scenic 6 acre pond and provides breathtaking views. Appalachian and Long trail hiking to the top of scenic Bromley mountain accessible right from property. Well behaved pets are welcome but as per house rules we ask they pets are kept off furniture and beds and we do require a $75 pet fee per pet due to multiple issues with dog hair on beds and furniture. When you book you can check the box to add pets and pet fee. No cats are allowed. Note: Although very rare due to unforeseen circumstances the pond may be partially drained for dam repair. Also, we take guests privacy very serious and we do not have any inside surveillance or televisions with front facing cameras. Swimming in the pond is not recommended because it is a wildlife pond and has Leaches and Beaver from time to time. Fishing is permitted but you may want to purchase a Vermont state fishing license.

It was charming, quiet and a lovely place to relax. We actually were next to the State Forest and were able to hike several times.
Enjoyed the cabin feel with just enough amenities so you could cook meals and build a fire. Love the antique feel with the lodge.
You could tell a lot of work went into making the quest feel comfortable and safe. A place to relax and live off the grid with the necessities to keep you in touch with the outside world.
A stress free getaway. The host spelled everything out and it was easy to follow the instructions.
A very rustic feel and look. We enjoyed this feel the most.
Most enjoyable time away from a busy schedule.
We love the place. Recommend to others who are looking for the same feel.

We absolutely loved our stay here. You feel very secluded but your only about 15 from Manchester with plenty of shopping and restaurants. There's even a little general store about five minutes away where you can pickup just about anything you need. The house was just perfect, very clean and very comfortable. Cozied up to the fireplace with a hot tea was bliss. Definitely hope to stay here again!

Rustic cottage right off highway. Easy access to Manchester downtown. Reaonably equipped for indoor and outdoor cooking. Lovely fireplace enhances the coziness and warm feelings on chilly days and nights.

We had a short 2 day stay but can’t put in words how peaceful we felt. Cottage beautiful.. you can feel the love. It rained both days but would like to return to hike, etc

The property is lovely, and very well decorated. We came in Oct and had a brutal 85 to 90 degree days. There is no air conditioning and no shades so it was like a sauna in the kitchen and living area. We were unable to cook and have meals their has we had planned. There was no escaping the sun and heat. Not quite what we had envisioned for our anniversary.

Really enjoyed this cabin in the woods. Barn boards and beams throughout, fieldstone fireplaces, and custom handmade furniture and cabinetry gives it a comfy rustic feel. We found it to be clean and well kept. Long private driveway with a path at the end that connects to the Long Trail if you ducking under a few branches. We wish we had more than just 2 nights to spend here.

This was the perfect spot for me and my husband’s honeymoon. The property is well maintained, amenities are wonderful, and minutes away from Manchester! Just everything we could possibly want from a cottage in the woods. Highly recommend, just cozy and romantic!

I agree with what I’ve read in some of the other reviews, this property was even better than we had imagined. Artfully decorated, clean, cozy, and surrounded by natural beauty, the cottage brought us instant calm and relaxation. We made great use of the well-stocked kitchen, read and played games in the comfort of the living room, soaked in the tub, and slept peacefully in the charming bedroom. Even when it rained we were happy because we had the magic of the cottage to enjoy. We loved the privacy. We bird watched on the deck and walks to the pond were a treat. The location was a wonderful homebase for trips to Manchester, Shaftsbury, Dorset, Bennington and Bridgewater. We hiked parts of the Longtrail, swam at Hapsgood Pond, fly fished on the Walloomsac, ate at some great restaurants in Manchester, took advantage of Bromley Market up the road, and managed to get some shopping and genealogical research in as well. Communication with the property manager was very good, he was helpful throughout. It was an amazing week in Vermont, very much enhanced by our stay at the Honeymoon Cottage. We hope to be back, would love to see it in the fall, winter and spring!

This cottage had our attention from the start while we were searching for a summer getaway. We're plant people, and it was so nice to connect with nature all around us, both inside and outside the cottage. The recent flooding throughout Vermont occurred during our stay, and while the roads were temporarily closed around us, the property drainage was excellent-it did it's job and we felt supported and safe. We would stay again, perhaps in another season to enjoy the warmth of the fireplaces, especially after a cold day on the mountain.

It was perfect! Off the beaten path but easily found. The surrounding area is beautiful which offers plenty to do.

The Battting brook to fall asleep to was amazing . Private . It was great to be able to unwind relax and just be.
One draw back . I wish the Adirondack chair that were shown in the picture were the to injoy the lovely deck.

The cabin was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed sipping hot chocolate while the pup slept by the fire. The appliances in the kitchen made cooking easy. My only recommendation would be to bring your own tall glasses/cups as there were not any to be found for evening/adult beverages (unless I just never found the stash of glasses anywhere, which is entirely possible). Also, the wifi is quite weak, but I hope you're not going to this romantic cabin to sit on the internet, especially with so much to do nearby, including amazing hikes right from the doorstep and great adventures in nearby Manchester. We would definitely visit again.

The cabin was cute and had decent amenities ie: Dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV but living room furniture not great for relaxing, fireplace "smoked" and internet was very "patchy". Bathroom with big soaker tub was lovely.

An awesome little get away spot, the cabin is in a perfect location if you are looking to go to Stratton, Bromley, or Magic Mtn. Extremely clean, cozy and private. The fire places make it even easier to relax. Looking forward to seeing this beautiful piece of property in the summer.

We stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage the first weekend in January and since the elevation is about 1800' everything was covered with snow! It was beautiful! We walked on the Green Mountain National Forest trails next to the cottage with our chocolate lab and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet peacefulness. The cottage was warm and cozy and we had a fire each night. The kitchen had all we needed and the bed was comfortable (on the firm side!). The living room could use updated seating for relaxation, but we enjoyed reading our books by the fire. The stairs are pretty steep - we needed to carry our puppy up and down, just to keep in mind. The location is perfect and private and the view of the pond is lovely!

This was everything we could have wanted for our Christmas time honeymoon! Beautiful, snow, romance, clean, and so much more!!!!! We even put up some decorations to top our stay off! Definitely a gem! ❤️🎄💚❄️

My husband and I (and our dog too) had a wonderful time at the Honeymoon Cottage. We spent a snowy Christmas Eve weekend here and it was exactly what we needed and more! It has everything you need - just bring your comfy socks and sit back and enjoy the beautiful fireplace. We will definitely return!

This is a beautiful property which combines rustic charm with top notch amenities. The fireplace is fantastic. We spent hours reading, napping and just enjoying the warmth and comfort. The kitchen is stocked with everything one would need. The bedroom is delightful with a comfortable bed and a view of the pond. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful long weekend and we could not have been happier with the Honeymoon Cottage even if it was our 24th "Honeymoon". We will be back!

This stay was a storybook in itself. I can’t wait to return. We truly felt like we had escaped to another world. The work and craftsmanship that went into this dwelling is remarkable. Wonderful escape. If I could just make a suggestion -a more comfortable chair (along with that beauty that is there) in the living room space-it wasn’t comfortable to sit and found ourselves going down to the bedroom to relax. Thank you so much!

Absolutely adorable little cabin in a great location to Manchester the trail and all activities in and around the mountain. Unfortunately I did have to cut my trip short however should I have the opportunity to revisit next year I would definitely re book! It’s lovely

The pictures accurately reflect the cabin - much of it and its furnishings hand-made. A well stocked kitchen and many creature comfort considerations. The two fans helped diminish the effects of the hot and humid weather, but it still got fairly uncomfortable late in the afternoon. A listing of channels for the Dish network would have helped as would the addition of NESN to watch the Red Sox in the summer and the Bruins in the winter. Internet speed was a problem. It never surpassed 1.4 Mbps, which is not really sufficient for streaming video (like watching the Red Sox). At home, I get anywhere from 15 to 60 Mbps.

Lovely cottage met our needs, July 2022
This lovely cottage met our needs. It's well build & tastefully decorated, fully supporting cooking. It's mostly as described although one can't see the pond from the cottage because of vegetation. We're glad we took a large fan to supplement one in the living area since it was 90 degrees there at 6 pm when we arrived. Downstairs was cooler, but still quite warm. The huge west facing windows provided great sunsets, but would benefit from curtains to reduce the heat. We saw the pond as shown in one of the pics by walking to the boats & dam area. If you do so, use tick spray because the weeds & bushes brushed my legs up to the thigh even though I was careful. The bed would benefit from a new mattress. The spacious bath was lovely.

A Peaceful Retreat
We had a peaceful and relaxing stay at the Honeymoon Cottage. I only wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage was spotlessly clean, and well appointed with everything you could possibly need and more.

Vermont Getaway
With a need for rest and relaxation this fit the bill for us. The ability to bring our pups was also a plus. The location is close to Stratton, Manchester and family. Look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful cabin for 2
The cabin is beautiful. To think that someone built it by hand is amazing! Even looks like some of the furniture was built by hand. The directions we were given were perfect and it was perfectly clean upon arrival. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal... Blender, spatula, pots and pans, plate and utensils, even a ricer! The dishwasher was an added bonus. The fireplaces were lovely (two inside and one outside). Didn't think we would get to use them in June but we had a couple of cold nights so we did. We also had two 90* days!! The bedroom is downstairs so that remained comfortable to sleep in even without AC on the 90* days. It did get quite warm upstairs on those hot days. Speaking of downstairs, I can definitely see how those stairs could be an issue for anyone with any mobility issue at all. My husband (age 60) and I (age 50) are able bodied but we really took our time going up and down each time. A suggestion is to bring several small bags rather than one large suitcase. We had carryon size bags; I can't imagine bringing anything larger than that up or down the stairs. I was able to read down by the pond one day (brought a beach chair from home) and it was lovely! But the following day I got eaten alive by flies. Not sure which is the norm. Jacuzzi tub was great; it got lots of use! If we return to the area, we would stay here again.
