About this house rental

From the roof lines to the original hinged windows, this is a truly one of a kind home. It was built nearly 100 years ago by Superior Court judge William Bading as his hunting get-away..... and it is rumored that he utilized the local inmates craftsmanship to complete the construction. The home has many original features but has been updated with todays creature comforts. The main home has 4 cozy & unique bedrooms along with 3 nicely appointed baths. Scenic views are enjoyed from almost every room. The master suite enjoys its own balcony,...the views are really lovely from this room. There is an additional guest house located across lawn which features a full kitchen, full bath, and a comfy queen bed in the loft . This also has its own covered deck and space to get away. The outdoor spaces provide many areas to relax and enjoy the views. The small hillside deck area with adirondack chairs & fire pit is a wonderful little spot to watch the sun set behind the Olympics . The main patio has plenty of seating and great for entertaining. We've recently added a new spot down on the beach stair landing for two to enjoy a quiet view and a cold beverage. The yard spaces are perfect for badminton or a one handed croquet tournament. Established gardens and hedges provide for a pretty private experience. We love the charm this home exudes as well as the truly active views. Watch early morning water skiers, harbor seals, bald eagles and yachts cruising into the bay to anchor for the weekend.

Simply the nicest property we have ever rented. We had a mix of family and friends staying with us for our son's wedding. The property is immaculate inside and out. Beautifully manicured gardens. The house had everything we needed and more. Even the gas grill was spotless. We cooked several meals for our large group and every cooking utensil we needed was available (and more). They thought of everything. The waterfront view was amazing and we enjoyed the firepit almost every night while watching the sun set into the mountains. We took advantage of the kayaks and paddleboard to explore the inlet in front of the house. We saw seals and osprey almost every day. The bedding was super comfy and all of our guests commented on how well they were able to sleep. Carol Sue is a great host and very responsive when we had a small issue. The only bad part of our stay was leaving. We would love to come back again some time. If I could give this property 10 stars, I would.

Seldom do you stay at a property that exceeds your expectations in every way. This lovely estate was perfect for our family trip with our three adult children, their spouses and kids. The grounds were as beautifully maintained as the house. We are a cooking family and the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. Even with several young families, there was space to be together and to find a respite. Paddle boarding in the calm inlet was great and the beach was nice for small children, especially when the tide is out. Carol Sue accomodated our early check-in request and responded promptly to all inquiries during our stay. Our family hopes to return to this truly unique property many times in the future.

This home was perfect for our family of 10 to celebrate our parents 80th birthday! There was enough room for the entire family, breathtaking views of the water, lots of outdoor space for lawn games, and the location to the ferry over to Seattle couldn’t have been better. We definitely recommend this home and have even talked about coming back again in the future. Carol Sue was such a wonderful host. The little special touches that she added to welcome us was to the home meant so much to us. Thank you Carol Sue!

Our extended family stayed for a week and this location was perfect for all ages. There were kayaks and a paddle board for water activities, badminton and bean bag toss for the yard, and plenty of games for indoors. The backyard has a great view and we enjoyed many of our meals outdoors. While it’s a bit of a drive from the airport (1 hour), the ferry makes for easy day trips to Seattle. This is a great spot to enjoy the area while having plenty of quiet space to yourself!

We had three generations with us - children between 7 and 14 - parents, and grandparents for a total of 9 people. There was always something to do every day. We loved the house and the guest house - it was perfect for our needs. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed - included fun toys. The communication with the owner was all we had hoped for. It was a marvelous week.

This beautifully appointed home set among the trees was the perfect gathering spot for our sibs reunion. Ideal for groups that like to cook, the kitchen is the heart of the home and comes very well supplied with a wide range of cookware and utensils. (The kitchen knives, sharp and elegant, were a joy to work with.) But cooking is not the only activity available. There are kayaks and lawn games and books and puzzles galore. The house is situated between Seattle (by ferry) and the Olympic National Park and you can choose a mix of urban and outdoor activities. The house was a great spot for us and I highly recommend it.

This has been our favorite VRBO rental by far! I was giddy with excitement when we walked into this most charming home overlooking the beautiful, peaceful bay! Beds/pillows were so comfortable, bathrooms were gorgeous, and the kitchen was fabulous with lots of counter space and was VERY well stocked. We ate all of our dinners outside on the large table which was probably our favorite. Such a beautiful setting! We played badminton, sat around the fire pit at night, looked for shells during the day and played cards/board games. There may have been some wine consumed too. 😉 Truly a magical family vacation that we won’t forget!
