This charming log cabin on Flathead Lake is located on the east lakeshore of Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. The views from the dock are spectacular of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It covers over 191 square miles with depths over 380 ft. and is one of the cleanest lakes in the world. The cabin sleep 10 people. Swimming, fishing and boating available off of the dock. The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located near by, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Bigfork offers you and your family a part of the West that you will never forget. Many hiking trails are close by the property. The property is split by the highway. Winter opens up a whole new world of outdoor adventure across Montana’s diverse landscape. Flathead Valley's 2 ski resorts mean fewer people, shorter lift lines and a lot more untracked snow. Winter time fun includes 2 ski resorts. Cross country skiing available right out the door. Whitefish Mountain Resort has been one of America's favorite destinations for good times, good people and good snow since 1947. Rising above the historic railroad town of Whitefish, the resort has gained notoriety for its laid-back vibe, world-class skiing and spectacular summer recreation. Consistently ranked highly in SKI magazine's annual reader survey, it is just as well known for a pleasant lack of lift lines as it is for friendly. Blacktail Mountain is a friendly mountain perched above Flathead lake. Amazing views of Flathead Lake, light dry snow on north-facing slopes, great rates and excellent service will have you hooked! If you bring a boat or plan to rent a boat, you must buy the $99 insurance policy and provide your copy of your insurance. This property has outdoor security cameras.

Perfect, cozy, comfortable Montana cabin.
Starting a real fire in a fireplace seems to be an anomaly today. Our family of 10 enjoyed our time together around a cozy fire every evening.
I would definitely reserve this cabin again!

We had a great weekend with our friends. The walk down to the lake and across the highway was a little unexpected. One of our members has some mobility constraints, and the walk down was too steep for him to get to the dock.

Great location, beautiful home, excellent price. Just don't plan on being inside the house between noon and dusk. The house faces west with it's beautiful A frame windows which is probably not an issue most of the year but in the summer this means lots of heat. The entire house has a single window unit next to the stairs which is wholly inadequate to keep the place cool. It routinely was in the high 80s mid afternoon through dusk which only got worse if we needed to cook. We opened every window in the house as soon as the sun set and cranked all the fans to 11 but most nights we fell asleep in 80 degree heat.
If they add more window units (especially upstairs in the loft) this place would be an easy 10/10. Until then it's a 7.

We are really glad we stayed here! Host Leesa was kind, responsive and professional. The house had an adequate supply of bath & beach towels, and kitchen had plenty of spices, oil & cooking utensils. Everything was fresh and clean upon arrival. The rooms and beds were comfortable. The sitting areas are cozy and comfortable. The deck facing the lake was nice to watch the sunset.
The house has only one a/c unit but they provided plenty of floor fans to keep the air circulating. The dock and access to the water was a short walk across the highway and down a small hill - this was manageable for us with older kids but I can see how it might be challenging for those w smaller kids or elderly.
Very nice property - would stay here again.

Loved this cabin! Large enough to fit our annual girls trip to Flathead Lake and had everything we needed! One thing to be aware of: the A/C is a window unit, but the weather cools off at night and there's plenty of fans to keep the house cool! Loved having water access- just a short walk down to the dock. We'll be back next year!

Whispering Pines was a perfect setting for our family vacation. We were happy to see all of the necessities since the majority of us flew to Missoula so we did not have to do much shopping once we arrived. Convenient locations between Polson and Big Fork and easy commute to Glacier National Park.

There were a few surprises with the house rules and layout of the property but they were manageable. We had a great time and would definitely go back for another stay.

We had such a wonderful time! The house was clean and so well stocked. We love to cook and they had every kitchen untensil/tool needed. The walk to the lake was easy, even with small kids. Highly recommend.

This was our second visit. Flathead Lake can’t be beat. We had a great time until after we checked out we were accused of stealing beach towels. I offered photos to prove the towels we used but it wasn’t accepted. We pride ourselves on being excellent VRBO guests. I vacuumed, put pillows back, cleaned counters. started laundry, ran the dishwasher. Does this sound like someone who would steal towels? I’m frustrated. I get some people might do this, but that’s not us!! You better take photographs of the inside of the house before and after so it doesn’t happen to you.

We stayed in the cabin for the entire last week of July 2022. It truly had everything we could have wanted. The beds were comfortable, the loft let the tween cousins all room together, the dock was absolutely ideal (fair warning. It’s on the other side of the road but easy to get to and well worth the little walk). Communication was fantastic. We would definitely stay again without a moments hesitation.

Great property!
The property was great for our large group. It was easy to rent and the owner answered questions in a timely manner. The walk to the lake is not bad and the private dock is large and in nice condition. The highway you have to cross to get to the lake has very fast traffic!!! Over awesome stay though!!! Thank you 😊

Annual "Mom's Trip"
The property was beautiful. Maybe cutting down of few of the trees that block the view. But overall the house, supplies, information binder and the property manager was amazing. We made some wonderful memories and have shared with all of our family and friends about this place.

Mixup on access ,very hot upstairs ,not enough forks for 10 people ,very busy road to cross for adults and children. All in all We did enjoy our stay

Stayed here with family for four days. It was the prefect location for everything we wanted to do and the cabin was awesome. It has everything you need if you want to cook your own dinners. It’s tucked off the highway so we didn’t hear any road noises and just a brief walk to the water.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a a true log cabin experience.

The place was perfect and quite clean. Kitchen was very well equipped. Communication with host was on the point and check in, check out procedures/ expectations were quite clearly laid out. The damage deposit expected was on the high side. We we t gor the insurance option. The property is right on the highway, yet not visible from the highway. We were a party of 7, including 3 kids and the attic space was perfect for kids. Only a couple of small recommendations, vents in both the bathrooms were not functional/ not there. Also since we checked in after dark, some more outdoor lights would have been convenient. Overall, a good experience!
