Romantic , 5 miles to downtown Asheville, Private, Hot Tub, Fireplace, Fenced
About this house rental
Contactless Check-In & Check-Out This unique listing hosts one bedroom, two full bathrooms with view of mountains. It is located five miles from downtown Asheville and four miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is a newly renovated mountain oasis with a beautiful, private outdoor haven ! The unique architecture style designed and created by the owner is breathtaking. There are cozy, romantic areas throughout. The owner has gone to great lengths to create beauty and character in every room in the house. From the pecky cypress columns and curved walls to the copper trim---there are architectural surprises everywhere you look. Located in Beaverdam Valley, the property includes a hot tub, fireplace with gas logs, covered porches, fire pit, gas grill, and decks. There is a year round view of the mountains. The bungalow has a full kitchen stocked with ample equipment needed to prepare gourmet meals, a dining nook and a wet bar. The bedroom hosts an iron and chestnut queen bed with luxury bedding, cedar wardrobe and flat screen TV. The two full bathrooms are beautiful with granite vanities and stone walk-in showers. The living room has a double leather recliner, stress-less chair with foot stool, flat screen smart TV with sound system, and wireless internet. It is difficult to describe the many details and features in the amazing bungalow! The property is located just minutes away from downtown Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Grove Park Inn, and the Biltmore Estate. Also, there are many nearby outdoor adventure activities: hiking, whitewater rafting, snow and water tubing, zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding, fly fishing, mountain biking, climbing, snow skiing, and waterfall tours. Spend the day in downtown Asheville dining, tasting our local beers, shopping or people watching. Great day trips to nearby small towns: Waynesville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Flat Rock, Chimney Rock, Highlands, and Cashiers. Scenic routes to each, with great lunch spots. Enjoy shopping for locally made crafts in the quaint atmosphere of small mountain towns. For guests who bring their dogs there is a neighborhood green space for fetching just 1/2 mile from the house. The owner, Jeff Schmitz, is a builder and designer. Jeff is an amazing carpenter with a passion for unique, innovative design and an incredible eye for detail. He loves nature---both at the coast and in the mountains. Jeff has poured his heart and soul into making this space an oasis for couples to enjoy. Jeff often travels to the North Carolina coast where he is renovating two historic homes. He enjoys spending time in the mountains with his family while continuing to build in this community. Jeff purchased this house in the 90's, completed the initial renovation at the turn of the century and completed the massive artistic renovation in February 2019. This is Jeff's second vacation rental rennovation. His first, Beaverdam Valley Escape, VRBO 617005, is a 5-star success! Jeff was originally drawn to Asheville from the west coast by the relaxed lifestyle and ample access to beautiful mountains and rushing waters. He fell in love with this house and this part of Asheville over 30 years ago. Since then, he has worked to renovate the space into a mountain dream house. It is both private and close to town---the best of both worlds. This is such a wonderful place and he wanted to share it with others as they traveled to the mountains of Western North Carolina. We all work so hard these days and forget how important it is to nurture ourselves and our relationships. This is an amazing, private romantic place that is appealing to adults of all ages. This bungolow had so much hidden potential when he purchased it many years ago. It was a diamond in the rough. The property has private lay out for being this convenient to town. It's character stood out above all others.

Great getaway for couple - house has a private backyard with hot tub and firepit. Feels secluded, but less than 10 minutes to downtown and less than 20 to Biltmore. Would stay again.

This house has everything you could need for a weekend away. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this little getaway. Anytime we’re in Asheville we’ll be staying here! Close to everything but far enough away, you feel secluded!

Property was nice and closer to downtown than I thought.

This was a fantastic find in Asheville! We spent a week at the home and truly enjoyed it. Everything, as previous reviews have stated is spot on. The home was very clean, meticulously well thought out, and loved the backyard amenities. We hit Asheville at peak leaf color and it was just phenomenal. The home is very convienently located to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was extra special. Tammy was very responsive to any concerns and the check-in/out process was perfect. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Extremely, extremely clean with moderness. Beautiful outdoor backyard and wonderful for the pups. Jacquizzi was so relaxing with a glass of wine, having coffee with a morning firepit going, evenings with fireplace. Architectual everything so thought out. Everything was really wonderful. Beds and living room couches very comfy. Tammy responded immediately and very friendly. We will be back!

We really enjoyed this house. It was clean, tidy and well put together. The bathrooms especially were clean and felt luxurious. The outdoor space is beautiful and absolutely perfect for our dog since it is completely fenced in including a gate at the driveway. The location was just what we wanted, close to town as we were there for a concert. We will absolutely be back for another visit in the future. Thank you!

Wonderful private property. Close enough to town to partake in nightlight, far enough to be relaxing and quiet. Great private outdoor space and nice front patio

I absolutely love this place and can't recommend it enough! Tammy, the host, is extremely helpful and responsive to questions and inquiries. And if you are traveling with dogs, this is a dream location with the completely private fenced yard and owners who seems to be dog lovers themselves! The interior is nice and modern and always clean. The lighting and the hooks for hanging things are also very well thought out. Three miles from a grocery store, 5 miles from downtown, and 5 miles from the River Arts district, the location is perfect! This will always be my go-to place to stay in Asheville!

This cute house was a great location for a little getaway. My husband and I stayed here for a weekend visit to Asheville. We came to the area to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, do a little hiking, and just do some relaxing. We loved the backyard. It was totally private. Even though the weather was warm, we did use the hot tub to soothe our muscles after a long hike. I would definitely recommend this house for a couples getaway.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. Would be lovely to come back during the fall or winter, when it would be perfect hot tub weather.
Tammy was very quick to respond to any of my messages.
This was our first, but definitely not our last, time in Asheville!

That is my only "complaint" when we stay at this fantastic home. No matter how long we stay, it's never long enough! : ) This was our second stay and due to busy schedules, also our shortest. The photos on the listing honestly do not...probably CANNOT...do it justice. It's perfect for a couple looking for a quick getaway into the mountains with Beaverdam Rd connecting to Blue Ridge Parkway. But it's also only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, the River District, etc. We found an amazing BBQ place, Luella's BBQ!!, only about 10 mins away! We will DEFINITELY be back!

The inside of the home for the most part was very clean. It’s a cool house with a great yard for the dogs with a “pet area” out back that’s super convenient. Should be noted that the driveway does not allow for a trailer which we happened to be hauling filled with our daughters goods (the reason for our visit) which caused a serious hassle. Maybe be specific in the description? And someone needs to take a broom and clean up outside. It didn’t look like it had been cleaned for eons. The hot tub was delightful!

Perfect for staying right outside Asheville. Would definitely stay there again.

This is such a lovely property in an ideal location to explore the area. Some great restaurants a short 10 minutes drive away. The host has thought of everything to make a stay comfortable and enjoyable with easy to follow instructions for tv/internet/lighting etc . The cottage has been updated to a high standard. A special treat during our stay was the beautiful bear strolling down the road. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing place to get away for a holiday weekend. Close enough to drive downtown for dinner and drinks, while also still remote enough to be near the Blue Ridge Parkway and have peace at night. I will always check for this location first the next time I go to Asheville!

This was our second stay at this very private cottage. It’s location is perfect for us; near the scenic mountains and walking trails and a short drive to dining and grocery stores. It is the most comfortable spot!

This cottage is so gorgeous and well thought out. It’s the perfect spot for a couple and their dog. We checked out the brewery scene in Asheville and honestly couldn’t spend enough time in the cottage. I wish that we had another day or two to check the area out and enjoy the cottage!! Overall, the place was well stocked with all of the basic needs (all of the towels, sheets on the bed, basic bath needs, basic kitchen needs). I didn’t feel uncomfortable or like I needed anything here. We will definitely be back….our dog loved it too!! It’s also in great proximity to everything in and around the city! PS if you’re a burn boot camp fan there’s one 20 minutes away and they’re super welcoming there!! 💙

My wife, dog, and I stayed here for the week. It was the perfect location with a ton of privacy. We enjoyed the location as it was between many of the hikes we did and downtown.
Both being a short drive away.
Everything in the house was labeled and easy to find.
We enjoyed the back yard and having the space for the dog.
Highly recommend!

We loved this property! It is absolutely perfect for dogs! The whole property is fenced in, giving them room to roam. The backyard/patio was the place to be and where we spent most of our time. Only 5 miles from downtown, yet still so secluded. Tammy was excellent to deal with and made the whole process a breeze. We will be staying here again!

Lovely cottage in a great location! Couldn’t be happier with our stay. We are already planning to come back this fall.

We loved everything about this property. The home was very well done and very comfortable. It was also spotless. Every room was unique and it was great to have 2 full baths. The backyard was private and beautifully landscaped. We loved hanging out in the hot tub at the end of our day. The bath robes were and added touch as were the cloth napkins, placemats and napkin rings. Also, perfectly located near downtown. We would stay again!
