Summer Savings means June-Sept. reservations get the 7th night FREE*! We bought off the mountain, in the valley, simply because there is so much more to do here besides ski, starting with the most beautiful short hike in Montana (plus ice climbing in the winter): the Ousel Falls Trail, just a few blocks up the road. Restaurants, shopping, and the Farmers Market are only a 10 minute walk away, or a short shuttle to Big Sky base area and THE BIGGEST SKIING IN AMERICA, or a little further to Yellowstone National Park. Our sage meadow right off the back deck and hot tub smells so good, and hosts everything from bluebirds to moose throughout the season. Amenities Include: --Master br (queen, new pillow-top firm) and bath en suite, sunrise side with blackout drapes for a.m. peace & quiet, with huge walk-in closet we also use as a mini-office, the whole room a quiet retreat from other guests; --Guest br (queen, new pillow-top firm) with bath en suite, large closet, sunset side with blackout drapes for p.m. peace & quiet, meadow view; --Guest br (queen futon) and twin bunk beds and bath, 32" internet tv & dvd, aka "kids room," nice play room or workout area (Lemond spin bike included), sliding doors onto deck by sage meadow. Wilson view. --Private hot tub, outdoor dining for 4, deck chairs for sunsetting, --Fully equipped kitchen with blender, microwave, decent cutlery, power mixer, airpopper, quality cookware, wok, electric griddle, lots of wine glasses, and many staples like flour, sugar, EVOO, spices, etc. --Large dining room table with seating for 6; breakfast bar has stools for 4. New leather sofa & loveseat in living room, each with "lazy boy" type power leg rests, perfect after a day of hiking or skiing, with 2 USB chargers on each (don't you hate searching for a place to plug-in your devices?) --Luxurious bedding and towels for all, plus "backups". Chest of drawers in each, and luggage racks for travelers. Ample t.p. and paper towels for guest use. --High capacity washer and dryer, free detergent and softener. --PARKING: private guaranteed parking in garage and driveway, plus a guest parking pass for the overflow parking across the street. Heated garage with 2 free Kona loaner bikes & helmets, and a sled. --Circulating fireplace & firewood. --Port-a-playpen for infants. Family & children's games and videos. --Two Kona mountain bikes, one large, one small. --Many local guidebooks, trail maps, shuttle schedule, restaurant menus, even a pair of binoculars for wildlife or stargazing! Free Bear Spray for summer hikers to carry (and hopefully not need). This location is perfect for a multi-purposed outdoorsy family--we rented in Big Sky for years, and chose Firelight Meadows for its year 'round convenience to everything that's special about the area. We're less than a mile from Town Center with its shopping, restaurants, and services an easy walk away, or ski or hike out our back door through a beautiful sage meadow. Watch the alpenglow on one of the Spanish Peak range's landmark peaks, Mt. Wilson, as you plan your excursion to Yellowstone Park, one hour south. Summer time fun starts in May & June, with whitewater adventure and Yellowstone Park wildlife only an hour away at the West Yellowstone entrance. Fantastic "Blue Ribbon" fishing is nearby on the Gallatin, Madison, and Yellowstone Rivers. We have many area maps and guides in our reference center. You'll love Big Sky instead of one of the touristy Park gateways--we are quiet and uncrowded in comparison, with quality restaurants, a Farmer's Market Wednesday evenings, and free "Music in the Mountains" concerts Thursday nights. The beauty and adventure of Big Sky awaits you. We guarantee you'll love Big Sky and our Ousel Falls Hideaway. Big Sky Resort skiing is truly "the biggest in America," with 5800 acres, 4100 vertical feet, and terrain for every skill level. Lift lines are non-existent. Overheard as I schussed up to Ramcharger lift one winter, "I'm taking a picture of this for my buddy skiing in Colorado, he's been in line for 30 minutes!" Children and beginners have two "shuffle up" carpet lifts and their own slow chair. Intermediates have perhaps the best l-o-o-o-n-n-g blues in the Western Hemisphere, with superb daily grooming. And Experts, let me tell you, you won't be able to ski all the EPIC steep terrain at Big Sky if you're only here a week. Oops, I almost forgot the TREES--there's glades for everybody, moderate and cleared for intermediates, steep and deep for the rest of us, and a bunch of runs where you can ski expert left, intermediate right, and meet at the bottom for the lift ride back up. There really are options for everybody at Big Sky, including over 80 miles of groomed cross-country skiing at Lone Mountain Nordic Resort, linked to the trail in the valley, just a block away from us. There are four new lifts on the mountain: North America's first "8 Pack" heated bubble for Andesite Mountain, plus Challenger, the experts only lift serving the ridge between Big Sky and Moonlight, has been replaced and updated, Shedhorn on the south side of Lone Mountain got one of the old high-speed quads, all joining the new high-speed, heated & bubbled 6-pack replacing the old triple serving the bowl (and the Tram). THE TRAM! It will be new and larger for winter '23/24--see Big Sky Resort's Facebook page or Instagram for construction progress. *Reserve for seven and the discount will be automatically applied.

We do a lot of ski trips and always stay in vrbo properties. This was our favorite one. Great communication, clean property, had everything we needed including additional touches like a hot tub, Christmas tree and fireplace. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home, which was more lovely than the pictures show. The rooms are large, the furniture very comfortable, and the home had everything we needed in neatly labeled drawers and cabinets. The hot tub was the icing in the cake, with nice and relaxing views. Communication with the owner was easy and informative. We’ll definitely consider again for a future stay!!

Our stay was perfect! The house, about a mile from Big Sky's town center and about a 10-15 minute drive from Mountain Village (Big Sky base.) Dave is a fantastic host and literally has thought of everything you could want/need for a winter/ski vacation. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!!!

Our family has stayed in different VRBOs at Big Sky this same week for decades. We just LOVED Dave's home! From the super advance booking I requested to helping us navigate being "stuck" in MT for two extra days due to flight cancellations going home, we have nothing but glorious things to say about our host and his home. Check in was very easy and an added bonus was the home was decorated for Christmas with exterior lights (front and back) and a tree lit and ready for us to enjoy. In addition to a very well stocked kitchen with every appliance and baking need you could think of, the pantry was stocked with baking needs and spices as well. There was plenty of firewood in garage and the HOT TUB out back was much appreciated everyday (except the -30 degree Artic plunge day that moved through Big Sky while we were there). We enjoyed many nights of board games and card games at the large dining room table and the 4 reclilners on the double couch were almost always being used by one of our family members when home. The Fireplace is just the best! perfectly aligned to enjoy a good movie and enjoy the magnificent view outside the walk out patio doors. The HOA was wonderful too. Quiet neighborhood, but still bustling with daily walkers, snow plows and even a MOOSE Momma and her Baby decided to grace us one morning and walked right past the hot tub and front yard! Apparently. this happens quite often! Ousel Falls are just a short 5 minute drive from their home and just one of the most amazing experiences you can imagine as you can walk all the way over them in the winter as they freeze over! The Gallatin River is still running under them, but, YES, you can walk OVER them in the winter - CRAZY!! The Town Center had everything we needed and the commute to the mountain was an easy, snow plowed, highly traveled route and for all the perks we gained by staying at Dave's place, we were fine driving up to ski each day. Good luck finding anything on the mountain, with a hot tub, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, heated garage and in such great condition for even twice what Dave's place comes too. We hope to get our 2023 christmas vaca booked soon back here again. I cant say enough wonderful things about this VRBO and the Host.
