This lovely 1500+ sq. ft. Lake Home is near Garrison MN on Round Lake (in the Brainerd Lakes Area), just a short 1-1/2 hour trip from the Twin Cities. Minutes from a boat landing on Mille Lacs Lake. This is the place to bring your family and friends for a relaxing time. This 1500+ sq ft house with three private bedrooms; it has 2 full bathrooms (one being off the master bedroom). You have all the comfort of home. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, utensils, dishes and small appliances. There is a full size refrigerator with large top freezer, stove, oven, and of course a microwave oven for late night popcorn, while watching your favorite DVD/VHS movie on the TV or your other favorite TV programs. Bed linens and bath towels are provided. Be sure to pack your favorite beach towel! This Lake Home Retreat is your dream vacation on a great quiet lake with sandy beach and beautiful clear water. The lake is great for all activities - fishing, boating, swimming, skiing, canoeing, tubing, or just relaxing. It has great swimming for children with a shallow sandy beach with gradual depth. Provided for your enjoyment: canoe, bocce ball, ladder ball, croquet, board games, cards as well as a DVD/VCR for rainy days plus Dish Network to enjoy your favorite sports or shows! Relax by the lakeside fire pit and watch the beautiful sunsets over the lake. Maybe enjoy golf at one of the many courses nearby (Rutgers Bay Lake, Cuyuna Country Club, Mille Lacs Lake Golf to name a few of the courses), or how about an evening at the Casino just 7 miles away, or shopping, great eating and recreation in the Brainerd Lakes Area. For the kids, or kid in you; how about Paul Bunyan Amusement park just 10 minutes away or mini golf in nearby Deerwood. Maybe curling up with your latest favorite book, or playing board games or cards is your style. Enjoy your favorite grilled food on the large deck with the Weber grill, but remember your charcoal and lighter fluid! If fishing is your pleasure - you will enjoy trying to catch maybe a resident northern, walleye, bass, or pan fish or just some great sun! Round Lake is about 1000 acres and up to 128 ft deep in the middle. Remember to pack your favorite lures and poles, and don’t forget your life jackets! This was our second time at this property and we love it. Nothing fancy, but if you're looking for a "cottage" on a lake, this is the place. Bring your boat, or rent one locally for the week. Fishing is good and the water clean and spring fed.

We enjoyed our week in this cute knotty pine cabin set on beautiful, lush grounds on a perfect lake. We caught fish, boated, played in the water golfed, and spent an afternoon at the Paul Bunyan Amusement Park nearby. Hosts live next door and were available to answer any questions we had. They also left us a treat basket which was a special touch and appreciated. Thanks so much for sharing your sweet cabin with us.

Karen and Doug were wonderful hosts. Minnesota hospitality at its finest! I’ve always dreamed of going to Minnesota and stay at a lake house, and we finally did it. It was exactly what I expected! Warm lazy days, cool evenings, and stunning sunsets. What I didn’t expect was the warm inviting hospitality of our hosts! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

Our family had a wonderful time relaxing on the lake! This home was the perfect place to unwind and kick off our summer. Karen was so responsive to all of my questions and made our family feel right at home. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We are looking forward to a return visit next year!

Well equipped , very clean beautiful cabin that lays on a gorgeous and peaceful lake. lot with spectacular sunsets.. Host hospitality shown brightly throughout our stay. Personally greeted on day one along with a welcome basket which our husbands enjoyed very much throughout the week. Mid week a gift of wine, pontoon ride and the opportunity to hear the history of the lake and cabin. Definitely a place to rent if you want relaxation and tranquility.

Clean spacious cabin on a wonderful relaxing lake. Soft sandy beach. Clear lake great for floating and swimming. Amazing sunsets. The owners are very nice. We’ve stayed here three times and it’s always been great.

Nice place. The oven went out our second day there which messed up some of the meals planned but we made the best of that as we could.

Wonderful getaway, only 1 1/2 hrs from the city! The lake, landscape and home was perfect! Beautiful sandy beach and swimming area, great fishing and the lake home has everything you need:) Karen and Doug are the best hosts you could ask for, definitely will be going back!

The cabin was exceptionally clean and well stocked. The beach, lake, and dock was perfect. Weed free swimming, clear water, and the beachfront was super easy to access. We had great conversations with the owner and they were very helpful. Very quiet and restful!

My family and I stayed here for a week of relaxation and fun, and it was a great experience. The beach front was fantastic with a nice sandy bottom, great for the little swimmers and the water was so clear! The site does state WIFI access-don't count on it, hit and miss on any connection, but, that's what a vacation on a lake should be-less electronics. Karen and Doug were great Hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. I definitely would recommend this place for a vacation.

The cabin was very nice with everything we needed. We enjoyed the sandy lake bottom for swimming and boating on the quiet lake. There was lots of wild life around the property and we had fun watching a pair of loons playing on the lake.

We really enjoyed our week at Round Lake. The cabin was very nice, homey, and had everything we could need. The weather didn't always cooperate for us, but we had games, puzzles, and a great view of the lake when the rain kept us indoors. The sound and nostalgia provided by the 8-track tapes/player was a special delight for all of us! And when the weather was good, we fished, played yard games on the lovely lawn, went for walks along the lake, and drove the gravel roads to enjoy the absolutely OUTSTANDING fall colors! Thank you, Karen and Doug, for being such great hosts. We enjoyed our conversations about the history of the area and cabin, your guidance regarding regional places to visit, and your generosity in all things. Kevin and Sheila

We had a wonderful time! The house definitely has that kitschy cabin feel. We were cozy inside but felt like we had plenty of room. Our favorite space was the grassy yard with big shade trees, and the little swimming beach...we were bummed that it was too cold to use it most days during our stay! Great place to spend quality time as a family. We enjoyed canoeing, fishing off the dock and the beautiful sunsets. Karen & Doug are such gracious hosts! One thing to consider is that the WiFi connection was really slow...not a big deal if your goal is to unplug & unwind, but if you're hoping to stream movies or work remotely, you might be out of luck.
