About this cottage rental
Once upon a time on a natural sand dune in Port Aransas sprung up the most unusual property in this Beach Community, The Dome and Cottage in the Dunes. This quaint, quiet and supremely comfortable beachy cottage shares the pristine pool with the property owner at the Dome house. The owner doesn't use the pool when there are guests at the Cottage so it's yours alone. The Cottage in the Dunes has its own deck overlooking the pool and is elevated from the street by about 20 steps. The landscaping which is both tropical and inviting and will welcome you to this getaway for your weekend, honeymoon, or small family vacation. Be sure and inquire if your group needs to add additional sleeping at our nearby properties. VRBO does not currently collect city hotel tax for us. We will ask for that and any pet fees prior to check in. We will then make sure you have directions and easy check in procedure. Include all the new attractions to your Port Aransas visit! The house is clean, cosy & well provisioned with kitchen appliances & linen/bathroom supplies. The balcony is closed in so dogs can be let out but there is no grassy area on the property so frequent walks are needed. The beach is a 10 minute walk away & leashed dogs are allowed there. The owner has another property very nearby with a lovely fenced in grassy front yard & graciously allowed us full access which was appreciated. Do note that car parking is on the street & there are about 2 flights of steps from the street up to the property. Communication with the owner at all times was very simple & she was very responsive. All up, it was a very peaceful & relaxing stay & I would recommend this property.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was nice and quiet and the cottage was very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. Our doggies were welcome here and they had a great time as well.

We enjoyed our stay and the place was perfect for family of 3. The only compliant is the frig really doesn’t cool well and I was little nervous about the milk/food. Everything else was great!

The Cottage in the Dunes is the perfect size for a romantic getaway and the pool is amazing! It's also really close to the beach and to all the fun stuff in town.

We absolutely loved staying in this cottage! It was the perfect place for myself, my husband, our daughter, and dog! The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and is easily accessible to the beach and everything in town. It was great taking evening walks to the beach. The pool was an added bonus! It was nice coming back and taking a dip in the pool during the midday heat when we needed a break from the beach. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future!

Ann and Rebecca do such a good job. The accommodations are always very clean and well managed . The cottage was perfect for my husband and I with our two little dogs .

This was our first time to stay in Port A but it definitely won't be our last. This was the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on. Our hosts made us feel welcome and did everything to make sure we were comfortable. The cottage was cozy and well-equipped (and I want to add that the A/C was excellent). We appreciated having access to a private pool, and there was only a short walk to the nearby beach.

We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Cottage is close to anything you might need and the private pool is excellent. Very clean and kitchen had euphoric might need. We look forward to staying here to again!

Absolutely loved our stay! The pool was so relaxing and peaceful. The cottage was the perfect size for me and my husband. The host was very quick to respond and kept in contact with us for our every need and question. We will definitely be back.

Everything about the cottage was great! The pool was a great escape from the beach on the hot summer days. It was quiet and restful from the busy city life. The pups were welcomed and no fuss was made about them and I have big pups!! All locations for shopping and eating are a few minutes away! Great place to call home for a few days!

Lovely quaint cottage with all the amenities you could wish for, even a crockpot!
My husband and I are in our 70’s and enjoyed our walk to the beach.
Steps up to the cottage are not good for someone with bad knees or bad balance though..
The pool was gorgeous and the house very, very clean and cozy.
Would definitely recommend staying here, we certainly will come again.
Also Anne and Rebecca are very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed the property. The pool was perfect relaxation. The house was very tasteful in decor and color. It was close to our usual haunts, marina, jetties and local restaurants. We never heard the main drive.

The property was very clean and well decorated. The location was absolutely perfect for beach or town access. We wish the weather had been better so we could’ve enjoyed the very cool and good sized private pool. The only detraction from 5 stars is the sleeper sofa. The new sofa is not the one pictured and is not a pull out sleeper sofas as expected but a futon which was uncomfortable and cannot sleep 2 children.

A Wonderful place. The owners thought of everything, from the personal touches and beach towels to the pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, shampoo, and conditioner. We ended up bringing too much. Loved the pool and shower. The cottage is bright, and the decor made me happy. It was quiet, homey, and comfortable. My dog loved it too. Communication was professional, courteous, and friendly. The cottage is right around the corner from the beach. It was close to restaurants and shops. We felt right at home. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for the opportunity to stay and for being such great hosts!

We so enjoyed our stay here! There are many thoughtful touches...very comfortable bed and soft sheets, well stocked kitchen, fun beachy accents and much more. Host and staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Already looking forward to a return visit.

We absolutely loved our time at the cottage in the dunes. We will definitely be back. The private pool was the perfect retreat after a long day at the nearby beach. The bed was extremely comfortable and the cottage was very clean and well stocked for our stay. It had everything you could need to make it feel like home. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and outdoor furniture. The pool loungers were very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood but still close to everything on the island. 10/10 highly recommend this place for a couple or small family. If you have someone who has trouble climbing stairs I would consider looking elsewhere but for us and our dog we had no trouble with them.

This was our second time staying at the cottage and I can’t see us staying anywhere else when we visit Port A. Having a private pool is the best. So relaxing. Anne is a great host. Good vibes all around!
