About this house rental
Nestled in Dauphin Island, this lovely house for $593 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Great for families to relax and enjoy themselves with a wonderful private beach. We think it is the perfect beachfront house to get away from it all. It is just a one minute walk to our private beach, which is the width of the property. Our house has 6 bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths and an outside shower. There are 2 decks and you can see the water from both. We cleared out lower branches of the pines for a much better view. It is comfortable and we know you will feel right at home. We had new decking installed under the house and on the bottom balcony in July 2018. We also installed a new washer and dryer, refrigerator, oven/stove top and dishwasher in the Spring of 2016. There are 2 full refrigerator/freezers for your use. We are constantly updating the house. Here are a few quotes from our guest book. "You have an amazing beautiful home! We are so grateful that you shared it with us. The first hour alone was worth every mile and penny! Everything was PERFECT! We all wish we could live here year round." Here is another one, " Beautiful home! Great beds, so comfy. Plenty of room for lots of Rest and Relaxation." When we read these messages in our guest book it gives us so much joy to know others have enjoyed and loved our house as much as we do. We are in a gated community which is a safe and fun place for kids to explore and bike ride. It includes a community pool with restrooms, tennis courts and a playground. The Isle Dauphine Golf Course is near by, as well as The Audubon Bird Sanctury. Kayak, bike and scooter rentals are available on The Island. The main floor has a fully-equipped kitchen ( we love to cook) with a dining area, large family room and a big deck with plenty of seating and a picnic table. Part of the deck is covered and part is in the sun! There are 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths on this floor too. The upper floor has 3 bedrooms, which includes a master suite. The master suite is the best! It has a full bath with a shower and a Jacuzzi tub, and its own deck with incredible views. There are also 2 other bedrooms and one full bath. Under the house there is an outside shower, fish cleaning station with sink, a sitting area and a gas grill. We have a big wagon to haul everything down to the beach, plus we have beach chairs, 2 kayaks for children and 1 for adults, 2 adult bikes and 2 for children and pool and beach toys. Inside we have games, puzzles, cards, a few dvd's and lots of great books and magazines to read. There are linens and towels for your convenience. We have about 12 beach towels too. Have great time on Dauphin Island and make a lot of great memories with your friends and family!

Loved our stay here! We traveled with 3 different family groups (included grandparents, parents, & kids) and this was the perfect place for us. The house had everything we could have asked for and more. With 11 people we weren't sure how well it would go or if we would feel on top of each other but the house was laid out nicely to ensure we all had our own spaces. The convenient walk to the beach was perfect for letting the kids go back and forth between the house and beach. Under the house was great for evening games. Outdoor shower was a hit with everyone! Owner was very responsive to any questions we had throughout our stay and gave us some great recommendations of things to do and places to go while there. Hope to stay here again!

No surprises here. Home is as described. Plenty of space for our six adults and four children. Easy access to beach and to pool. Comfortable sleeping and plenty of bathrooms. Meg was very helpful in preparing us for our stay. We’ve been coming to DI for16 years. Probably our best house overall. Doesn’t have the beach space like the west end, but considering the flooding storm on Monday of our week, we were in the better place. We were not affected by flooded streets. Highly recommend this property.

This was our 3rd summer staying in this beautiful beach house and as always, it served our family perfectly for a wonderful week on the beach. Beds are comfortable, the house is spacious, and the kids made good use of the toys left in the garage for us to take down to the beach. Already looking forward to the next one.

We stayed over spring break for a week- extended family including 5 adults, 4 teens, and a child. House layout was perfect for our group with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was very well equipped and having 2 refrigerators is a huge bonus with a big group like ours. The island is beautiful and quiet - we try to avoid big tourist spots - but still plenty to do. Communication with owner was great - they were quick to answer any questions and had great suggestions. Beautiful white sand beach just outside the door was picture perfect. Having all the bikes, kayaks, water toys, chairs etc there was a huge bonus since we were driving there from Michigan with limited room for cargo. Only downside to the location is the distance to get groceries- 45 mins each way to Walmart - but better than any option on the island. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for a wonderful, relaxing trip.

For the third year our family enjoyed the unsurpassed view of the Gulf at this huge home directly off the beach. With six bedrooms, there was a room for each of two couples AND Grandma AND the two teens, PLUS the spacious bunk room for three boys. From an adult viewpoint, the huge big screen TV and open family room/kitchen design made gathering all together for playing games - and watching “The Game” - ideal. But the number of bedrooms also gave the Introverts and tired folk necessary privacy.😉
All the beach chairs, equipment and towels on property saved us valuable trunk space. The kiddos enjoyed the boogie boards, sand toys and kayaks, as well as biking to the pool when they needed a break from sand and waves. Another favorite was napping and reading in the hammocks we brought with us and installed in the pine trees right off the beach.
Each year the owner, Meg, has been prompt in answering our texts. She’s also provided fabulous suggestions for visits to the DI estuarium and tours of Forts Morgan and Gaines, all of which we enjoyed. (Just down the main street is an amazing wild bird sanctuary, so birders will be well-rewarded if they bring their binoculars.) Meg’s family grew up vacationing here, and she freely shares tips to make you feel right at home. (One of her recommendations was to visit Skinners Seafood right off Bienville. Amazing flavors, fresh caught, Skinners has THE BEST seafood bisque and clam chowder ready made-to-go as well as crab claws, scallops, etc. For us, beach is synonymous with seafood, and Skinners is the best.). It’s obvious that this host truly cares about her guests’ vacation experience as much as if we were her family!

Property was perfect for our family/extended family. It had everything we needed for our visit, beach was beautiful with sunrise/sunsets.
They had lots of rain prior to our visit and I think that encouraged the mosquitos and gnats a bit more than usual and there was an influx of jellyfish (along the whole gulf coast) that made swimming and beaching a bit more challenging. On a bright note the wildlife of crabs, lizards, box turtles, and frogs kept the kids enjoying the stay and naming them as we watched them do their daily routines.
We look forward to trying Dauphin Island again as the home, island and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for.

Home was as expected, very clean with a great beach location. The only downside is the limit of guests due to the HOA. A 6 bedroom home could fit more people than what's allowed which would help with the cost to rent. We hope to stay again.

This property was wonderful. We have stayed at many vacation rentals, and this is one of the top rentals. The house is equiped with everything you need for a week. Walking out the back door and having your own beach is amazing. The neighborhood is quiet. We rented a golf cart which I highly recommend to get around the island. The house has so many beach toys we shouldn't have brought our own. This is a place that we can plan a repeat visit if we return to the island. Thanks for a great vacation!

Easy stay.
Everything was as advertised. The owners gave us any information we asked for, and explained the rules for staying and leaving very accurately. It was an easy house to be in. It allowed everyone space for privacy and nice "get-together" areas. Very homey and welcoming.

Not long enough
However long you stay at this location, you will wish you had stayed at least another two days! This is our second visit to this property. Leaving this time was even harder than the first. Between kayaking, crabbing, reading on the beach, playing tennis, and sleeping in the uber-comfortable king bed in the master suite, I was so spoiled. My hubbie loved hammocking and watching football and soccer on the giant bigscreen TV in the main room. If you love seafood, you will want to get a to-go order from Skinners down the main thoroughfare and bring it back to eat on the back porch picnic table. Or you can pick up bait and a permit at the marina, and try your hand at crabbing off the beach. For a change of pace from ocean, our children enjoyed the nearby estuarium and its terrific gift shop. This is an amazing property, and the owner is wonderful to work with.

Awesome Vacation
The house was perfect for us!!!! We could not have asked for a more perfect fit for our family! It was so amazing to wake up and just walk out the door and take a few steps to the beach! We cooked, we played, relaxed and spent some fabulous family time.

Wonderful house in a wonderful location
My three generation extended family and I stayed at Meg's place a couple years ago, and everything lived up to the expectations we set from prior visits. Meg's place is really nicely set up for multiple families to live comfortably with a bit of space and privacy. And the wonderful view and easy walk to the beach from the porch can't be beat. Bonus points for access to neighborhood tennis courts and pool.
A few features our family loves: the storage shed of bikes and beach chairs and toys, the zoned HVAC (and dedicated unit in the master), dual refrigerators, and newly updated outdoor shower for after a day at the beach.
We will definitely be looking to rebook this one for any future visits to the island.

The house was perfect for our large group which included 3 couples, 2 singles, and 3 high school girls. The neighborhood is quiet and secure. The hosts have lots of beach supplies and the house was clean and comfy! Very happy with the property and the stay.
