This 2 bedroom, 1 bath charmer was built in 1930 and is located in a quiet area 6 blocks from the refreshing Atlantic Ocean. That's a short 10 minute walk before your toes hit the sand! Sunshine Cottage has the character and appeal that only a historic home can offer - original heart pine wood floors, fireplace, windows, doors and knobs, and built-in cabinets. While historic, the cottage has lovingly been renovated and includes all the modern amenities to keep you comfortable, without losing that vintage coastal charm. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the front screened porch. The coastal chic interior of Sunshine Cottage welcomes you as soon as you walk in the door. Two comfortable sitting areas, one equipped with a 48” HDTV; the other a cozy fireplace. Sunshine Cottage offers two quaint bedrooms. Perfect for a couple or small family and comfortably sleeps four. The first bedroom features a queen sized bed and TV. The second bedroom features twin beds. The dining room table seats six and allows plenty of space for gathering for meals. Original built-in cabinets provide extra storage space for guests and showcase the craftsmanship from years ago. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking essentials, glassware and dinnerware. A full size washer and dryer are located directly off the kitchen in an enclosed porch. All your beach necessities are housed in a storage shed in the fully fenced backyard – bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and beach toys. There is also a gas grill and pavered seating area. You are within walking or biking distance to the heart of Jacksonville Beach – restaurants, shops, bars, festivals, Sea Walk Pavilion, life guard station and pier. Mayo Clinic is conveniently located 10 minutes away. Onsite parking is available for two vehicles. Dogs are allowed up to 50 pounds, maximum 1. Please inquire about dogs before booking. A classic east coast beach cottage, very well maintained, furnished, & decorated. Easy walking distance to the Jacksonville Beach pier. A major grocery store and restaurants are nearby, but it's in a quiet neighborhood. All the appliances work. We would definitely stay there again.

Sunshine Cottage is exactly what a beach cottage should be! The hosts thought of everything including a welcome bottle of wine! Perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood close enough to the beach and restaurants that it is easily walkable to avoid parking. Great fenced in backyard perfect for the pup or children. We will definitely be back!

We had a decent time at the place, very clean, everything is there. We came from Switzerland, took a longer trip and can compare different places now. What you have to know for this one: everything in the USA is XL, the pictures make the place look like an L, but it is actually an S! For our teenagers and us it was a bit too tiny. Having one bathroom with a shower that barely fulfilled it’s needs, we wouldn’t want to spend a whole week. The bigger problem was the neighbor next door. He had his friends over for a nice techno party on Friday night and cranked the speakers far beyond midnight. The other house is so close, that our bed was vibrating. Since he didn’t open the door, we ended up calling the police, what was very effective. Also to mention: everything is getting a bit old, paint coming off the ceiling, the bikes and other stuff in the shed halfbroken or mouldy, the locks on several doors not really functioning. The beds were good and firm, the beach not far, grocery store around the corner….

The Sunshine Cottage was a great home away from home for our family of 4 during our 2 week stay in the area. The owners have decorated the cottage perfectly and thought of/provided every detail we needed. The screened in porch and back patio were favorite spots in the early morning. I appreciated the extra towels and updated kitchen/accessories. The owners were very responsive and professional when we had questions.
The only suggestion for future improvements would be a new Queen mattress. The current mattress creeks when someone moves, which is not good for sleep in a shared bed.

Absolute great property. Owner thought of everything. Left a welcoming bottle of wine. Great location if you don’t have to be right on the beach. Great fenced in back yard which our pup loved. Will definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved the house and especially loved all the beachy decor. This house is decorated just the way I would have decorated it. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Lots of towels, supplies to get us through the first days, beach chairs and bikes. Everything was in excellent working order and we had a really great time. Would definitely stay there again.

This cottage is delightfully charming! It was perfect for our family of three. Located in a quiet neighborhood, we easily walked to the beach every day. It is close to groceries and dining. The cottage is immaculately clean and modern with all the charm of a beach home with gorgeous woodwork, floors, doors, and tile. We loved the firm but comfortable beds and the plush towels. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our dog and we enjoyed relaxing there in the warm sun. We felt warmly welcomed by our hosts. We could not ask for a better experience!

My wife I loved this property! It's probably our favorite Vrbo rental so far. This older cottage is lovingly preserved with wood floors and lots of charming touches.
It was well maintained, well furnished, bright and clean. Kitchen up to date. The back yard was perfect for relaxing.
The location was very good - very quiet street, just a couple of blocks to the services on A1A, and less than a 10-minute walk to the beach.
We loved staying here and will definitely rent again.

The owners were great and easy to communicate with if needed. We walked to the beach for a couple of sunrises which was beautiful. We all had a great time.

If you are looking for a beach getaway staying at this cute cottage beach home is what you need. The owners do a really good job making you feel welcomed. A welcoming gift awaits you upon arrival. We thought that was very thoughtful. The home is so close to the beach. It was such a great place to stay and start our summer vacation. Great place!! very neat and clean!!

My wife had surgery at the Mayo Clinic and needed a few days to rest before traveling home. The sunshine cottage was great. It is in a convenient location and near the beach. The grocery store , restaurants, and shopping was all nearby. The cottage was well equipped and very cute. We will stay there again.
