I can't imagine a better suited unit for the best experience in West Maui than Whaler 102. Ground floor, west end of Tower 1, we saw whales everyday from our lanai. Walking distance to world class restaurants, snorkel trip pick up at the beach in front of the Whaler. Golf 4 minutes away. Love to come back and stay in 102!

Our family have been vacationing at the Whaler the last 5 years and we have stayed in different units every time and this unit is by far the nicest, most well equipped and being on the ground floor was an absolute treat. The ease of using the barbecues for lunch and dinners, accessing the beach with gear and not having to use the elevators is a luxury in itself. I would recommend this unit to anyone that needs to sleep 6 very comfortably and easily 8 with the pull out queen couch. Views from this unit are amazing even with it being in the ground floor. We will hopefully get the opportunity to rent this unit again.

This rental was perfect for our family of 5. It was equipped with all the extras: beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and ice chest. It is close to shops , restaurants and activities. Kitchen was stocked with essential cooking and kitchen supplies. The beds were extremely comfortable. Laundry in unit. We had morning coffee while watching the beautiful backdrop of the ocean. High recommend church at Hula Grill at 7:50am on Sundays. This rental has it all!

Property is premium and expensive but is in dire need of remodeling and basic upkeep and better cleaning- had to unclog tub drain, freezer handle was loose and falling off, toilets barely flushed, saw 2 cockroaches inside unit during our trip

This was our third time staying in the Whaler 102. The location is fantastic but unfortunately the unit itself didn't meet our expectations. Previously this unit has been well-stocked and in perfect condition. This time, the kitchen was lacking- 4 cracked cereal bowls for a unit this size was disappointing. We enjoyed our stay but for this price, expected a bit more upkeep of the unit.

Just can’t beat the location, right on the beach and next to the pool. My family really enjoyed the unit, even had a high chair and pack n play for my baby! Spent a good amount of time on the huge lanai enjoying the views. Already planning our next trip back!

We had an amazing time at the Whaler 102. Everything is so close and convenient! Beautiful and roomy condo was perfect for our family of 4 - my husband, myself, and our two daughters, ages 17 and 19. It had tons of room, a great kitchen for us to cook together in, and so many options for us to eat together - both inside and outside while listening to the waves!

Family Maui Vacation
The Stice team’s property at the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach was everything we had hoped. Beachfront side of the complex afforded us views of Lanai, Molokai, Black Rock and daily sunsets. And being ground level made for easy access to the community grills. The two very minor issues (non-functional coffee maker and some missing utensils) were addressed within a couple of hours of our report with brand new items. Separate A/C units in each bedroom and the main living area allowed everyone in our group to dial in their ideal temperature. The pool and fitness areas were both very nice. In addition, the room was well stocked with beach chairs, towels and umbrellas. We would not hesitate to book this property again in the future should our travels bring us back to Maui.

The location on Kaanapali beach was great for our family and the outside property was very nice. We were in general happy with The Whaler and would return, just not to the condo we rented. There was a strong mildew odor, especially in the master bedroom.There was a hole in other bedroom door,the master bath needed improvements and carpet throughout house should be replaced. Both toilets run and dishwasher didn’t stop on its own a few times. Fridge had a strange freezer set up and no ice maker. The positives were the nice size of the living room area and the master bedroom. Also the convenience of being ground level and having a grass area outside good. The wind can whip through the side we were on however and make being outside challenging. Barbecue area is right below and walking path is close, so if you’re looking for quiet and privacy, probably not a good choice.

All we can say is WOW!! We were fortunate to stay at this dream rental April 3-10, 2018. It was perfect for my 4 children, my spouse and I. The property was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. It has beautiful furnishings and you can tell this place is kept up. The property management company is very professional. I had to contact them while I was there because I found a damaged closet door in the guest room. They were pleasant to deal with and instructed me how to report my finding. We also enjoyed how they really have there stuff together. When you rent their condo, they give you a link that has tons of information about the check in/out process, wifi, etc. For them to provide us with all this information just made everything easy. We loved the closet that offered beach necessities like beach chairs, sand toys, and beach cooler bag. The location of the property was awesome! We loved our oceanfront view! Having coffee out on the lanai was the best!! We could head out to the beautiful beach as it was probably about 80-90 feet from the condo, which made it easy when we needed to take a break from the sun and get lunch. This condo is also just steps away from the BBQ area if you feel like grilling up your own dinner and about a 5 minute walk to restaurants at the Whaler's Village. The pool area is about a 30 second walk. The grass area off the side of the condo was a bonus for the kids as they could have somewhere to play. We were very impressed with the upkeep at The Whaler. Every single day that we were there we could see staff on top of just keeping up the premises. They were all very nice and helpful. We really had a fabulous time and can't wait to visit again!! We love this condo!!! Thank you Hawaii Life for offering such a wonderful place, we will be back!!

This condo is on Kaanapali Beach and is close to everything - the beach, the pool, bbq area, walking path, whaler’s village, restaurants and snorkeling at Back Rock. You honestly don’t have to drive anywhere. You are literally steps from the beach. The condo is well equipped and we sat outside on the large lanai that has perfect views. If you leave the door open while you sleep you hear the crashing of the waves. Love this place!

We had a great experience at the Whaler. The location is wonderful- easy access to both the ocean and the pool. Also very close to Whaler's Village which has great restaurants and shopping. Our 10 month old son was with us and this unit is fully equipped for children- the pack-n-play was set up upon our arrival and the high chair was also set out at the dining room table. Everything is in perfect condition! There are also sand toys, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards to use so you won't need to rent anything to enjoy the beach! The unit is so nice we actually spent a lot of time sitting on the patio (which overlooks the ocean) to escape the sun and just enjoy the beautiful views! Even though it is on the ground floor, we never heard any noise from neighboring units. The kitchen is fully equipped- even has plates/bowls for kids. The beds are wonderful. I really can't say enough positive things about this unit. You definitely won't be disappointed if you stay at the Whaler 102!

Ocean front first floor is our favorite location. No waiting for the elevator. The wrap around lanai adds extra outdoor living space.This unit is tastefully decorated and fully stocked with everything you need. The only downside are some non-critical maintenance issues, but hopefully they will be quickly addressed. The hall bath was missing a door knob/lockset. Apparently it had malfunctioned and it is a foreign design without local parts available.

Overall the condo felt more like a $300 a night condo with lots of space. The Whaler property itself is nice and seems well maintained. Lots of great staff as well. Pool area isn't great but works for sun bathing and cooling off. Parking situation is decent, usually couldn't find a spot in the garage and had to park in the furthest lot. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the location but would probably look elsewhere for our next visit.

My husband finally texted them and they responded. They answered that they'd leave TP by the door. Either someone stole it or it was never delivered. This condo needs updated. The other condos are so beautiful and "homey." We will look for other properties when we return. We would NOT recommend this unit to anyone.
