Situated in Dry Fork, this attractive house for $176 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Multi-level home with beautiful year around view of Mt. Porte Crayon and the High Mountain Roaring Plains Wilderness area from the spacious deck. Two minute drive to Canaan Valley; separate game room with ping pong, air hockey, foosball multi game set, dart board, chess, checkers, batmitten, board games, croquet and horseshoes. Also with a fire pit and 3 TV`s. 4 wheel drive recommended during winter months. This property does not have wifi. Alpine view is in a beautiful location with little traffic so we didn't have to worry about the kids or dogs outside playing. The layout was perfect two bedrooms on each level and the bonus game room downstairs. We would rent from Mountaintop Realty on our next vacation. The deck was spacious and had nice hot tub, picnic table and chairs. We enjoyed sitting on the deck at night watching the meteor showers. Everyone at the rental office was polite and courteous.

Amazing mountain views. We had snow on the ground so it was even more beautiful. Quiet, peaceful and serene. The hot tub, the game room, the open kitchen/living area, the layout in general of the bedrooms being split between upstairs and main. We are in love with your home! Honestly did not want to leave. Friendly and informative.

The property was great. Only complaint is a lot of the chairs and stools in the kitchen are very wobbly and the tv stand area was pretty dusty other than that it was great!! At first people complained about the no phone service or wifi however that ended up being one of the best features because it was a true getaway of pure fun with no communication with the outside world. We are already discussing returning in the spring to take advantage of the water activities. Thank you Mountaintop! Everyone was great! Everything was quick and easy from reservation, arrival to departure.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean, had suitable towels and linens. There was extra blankets. The kids loved the hot tub and game room. It was great to have a fenced in yard for our dogs. Please get WiFi. And update the TVs. We went to the rental office on Saturday because we thought there was WiFi. The lady was very nice. We used the WiFi there.

My stay at Alpine View was PERFECT! If you're considering renting this house, I would HIGHLY recommend it! Especially if you want to bring your dog with you. The property has a pretty large fenced in yard! The pictures of this property do not do it justice, it's much bigger than it looks! The place was clean upon arrival, the hot tub on the deck was perfectly positioned for nice sunsets and views of the mountains. The fire-pit was a great place to have smores with the family after a long day at the ski resort only 5 minutes away. We were close to beautiful hiking trails and not too far from town. Other comments on this property mention a lack of cell phone service. I did not experience that at all and I have T-mobile. My in-laws had Verizon and they were fine as well. There isn't any wifi at the property....but honestly, you're in the mountains of West Virginia, didn't you want to get away? If you have cell phone data you can most likely access everything you need. Like I said, I could make calls, search the internet, everything, just not on wifi. There was nothing I did not like about this property- and for the price it's an absolute steal compared to what else is out there! I will likely rent this place again. The team at Mountaintop Realty made my experience safe and easy. Due to Covid-19 the office was closed, but upon arrival they had an envelope with my name on it with directions to the property I rented. They also had provided a list of check out items, clear instructions and rules to follow for the property. Which was much appreciated! The property was spotless, easy to check in, check out and Mountaintop Realty was VERY easy to work with. If I had questions, I just called and they answered everything I needed!

Just a bit of a drive to Davis for supplies. Had cell service (ATT) so the lack of Wi-Fi was a minor inconvenience. Great spot for the hot tub and loved the game room downstairs. Very easy and simple procedure

We enjoyed our stay. Wifi would add a lot to quality of our stay since cell reception is not good in that region. Game room was a plus. First floor bathtub drain was super slow. Overall nice place to stay. Good location. As expected considering the pandemic restrictions.

Misleading photos
We have stayed in the Canaan/Tucker County area many times and this property was unfortunately ranks as our least favorite and least recommended. It wasn't horrible, but it was a let down in several ways.
Pros: The house was very clean and a good size for our group of 4. The balcony was nice, and some large strategically planted pine trees gave the "illusion" of privacy.
Cons: Despite what you are led to believe by the listing photos, this home is in an established local neighborhood with houses all around it. It's an 18 minute drive to Davis, WV from the house. The kitchen, though clean, was not well stocked for a rental (no pizza cutter or other basic essential tools, old pots/pans, old appliances, etc). Every time you turned on the water anywhere in the house a loud whining noise would occur (we joked that it sounded like the "GOOOAALL!" cries of a soccer game) so if anyone flushed a toilet or ran water in the middle of the night, you could hear it from everywhere in the house.
Branches and overgrown vegetation obscured the entry way / main door. Crown molding in several places in the kitchen was broken creating tripping hazards. The hot tub was clean but very old and some of the jets didn't work. The upstairs bathroom fan and light was broken and dusty/gross.
If we had known about the neighborhood location we would have chosen a different rental. The photos should be more accurate representations and less an attempt to make you believe you'll be in the middle of a private and remote setting.

I called the provided number and didn't get a response. Only after calling Canaan Valley BBQ was I able to connect with Matt. He showed up quickly, apologized, and provided me with the right keys. So, everything turned out well. However, this would have been terrible if Matt was away from his phone for a while. Why don't the properties just have Schlage keypad locks? That would be SO much easier.

Great Family Location
My brother and I brought our families here for the 4th of July. No big complaints, however, the floor transition molding in the kitchen isn’t bolted or glued to the floor. This causes a lot of annoyance as it moves around and doesn’t feel good on your feet. I would also recommend better cooking utensils if you plan on cooking a lot. We cooked daily and the utensils bend and fold as you are stirring etc. This house doesn’t have photos of the best room in the house for the kids- our children played for hours in the basement, many board games, basketball, air hockey and table tennis! We would stay here again and recommend it to others. The lack of WIFi was a plus as we spent more time together than glued to our phones for the weekend.
