Beautiful, quiet small country town 15-20 minutes to Lawrence, Topeka, Overbrook or Baldwin Public Hunting and Fishing, Country Get-away, Elopement/small weddings, Short Stay in town for business, Pre-approved Small family reunions or just in town for an Event and would like to stay in the county just outside of the city

We ended up getting a hotel room and eating the cost. We’ve used VRBO many times and have never delt with this. Two 53 year old and an 86 year old we’re planning on staying. Relentless inquiries on who was staying prior to our arrival along with the fact that they wouldn’t leave the key for us or give it to my daughter because we were driving in from Co and arriving late (midnightish). Crazy! Anyway Townplace Suites was AMAZING and we had a great time with our KU daughter and her KU Grandpa

This was one of the nicest and cleanest properties we have stayed in. The cabin was comfortable, had all of amenities one needed for the stay. There was a fire pit and grill for guests to use. The bedrooms were arranged such that it is great for families with young children. All in all we would stay there again.

The house is basically as described in the listing. Stocked with all the basics in the kitchen. Very quiet neighborhood. Short drive to several lake access points. Host is very responsive to questions. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at the Old Stone House was a very welcome change of pace. My friend and I are travelling for work and often work long hours. Being surrounded by nature when outside, having the ability to grill, and being able to enjoy a tranquil accomodation was a truly grounding experience. Our host Andrea was extremely friendly and accomodating; the neighborhood was friendly and amazing. We plan to come back, and would absokutely recommend this stay to anyone needing to decompress, relax and get back to nature.

This was our second trip to the Old Stone House, located in an area void of the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our retreat consisted of reading, sitting and watching nature, cooking our meals, hiking trails and fishing at Clinton Lake and a day trip into KC, MO for some Royals baseball. Hands down, this is one of the cleanest, peaceful, and restful VRBOs we have had the joy to visit. Andrea is attentive, friendly, and accommodating to her guests. We can't wait for our next visit! Thank you Andrea for sharing your property with us!

We booked two nights in May for our daughters graduation from KU. Staying in the property with my wife, son and daughter in law. There aren't enough words to express how wonderful our stay was. From the setting, only a mile from the lake, to the house itself which was stocked with everything you could need. Grilled burgers and brats on a grill so clean I almost wondered if it was brand new (Oklahoma Joe offset smoker)! Evenings around the fire pit talking, listening to music and taking in the wildlife (three deer and three foxes). We will definitely return to this treasure!!

A fantastic property! Close proximity to Lake Clinton in a very quiet area. Very well appointed with everything we needed. Sitting out on the porch made the evenings perfect and Lawrence is close enough for meals out. We would highly recommend!

My wife and I lived in Lawrence for over 40 years before I got transferred to Iowa. We came down to go to a football game and see our kids who were doing the same thing. This wonderful little cottage was a perfect place for the two of us to stay. A little off the beaten path, and very quiet and peaceful. It was set up beautifully and the accommodations were perfect. Andrea met us there to check in and show us around. We will certainly stay here again if we get the chance.

This was the perfect house for relaxation with the woodland critters! Quaint property inhabited by deer, squirrels, birds and butterflies! Perfect location close to the lake and a short drive to stores, university, etc. Our hostess was very gracious, responsive and shared some fun family history about the property!! A definite 👍 👌

Andrea ,et us at the property to show us the property and check us in. This was wonderful because it let her show us the features of the property. What a great quiet location. Just as advertised. Everything was clean and well kept. Great location just a quick ride to the lake, and not far from town.

We had a good time at the Old Stone House albeit in the middle of a heat wave. It was just a bit too hot to do much outside like the grill or the firepit. The neighbor dog was a friendly visitor but we missed getting to see any other wildlife other than a fox running through the neighbors yards. We had a small issue but they were there to remedy it almost immediately. The only thing I wish I had known ahead of time is that the 2 bedrooms share a wall, have a curtain between them, and you have to pass through one to get to the other. But that was manageable and didn't take much from the visit. Thanks for allowing us to stay for a few days!

Cute, little house. Even though we are from Colorado was fun to see the fox and babies. We did need to do a bit of work so WiFi/internet would have been good. I missed that when booking. But a great place and would return again.
