About this cottage rental

Nestled in Chesapeake Bay, this charming cottage for $275 per night is a great option for your next trip. There are two houses on the property. In June of 2015 we completed a full and total re-build of the carriage house and are back up and running on VRBO. Since retiring in 2014, Clarissa and I are living full time in the house and you may see us from time to time, but the carriage house 'cottage' has been designed to be a get-away that is comfortable, elegant, private, cozy and memory making. It is perfect for families, couples, and or friends just wanting to spend some time together. It is far enough away from civilization to enjoy the water, sky, trees and wildlife, without being entirely out of touch. You are in short driving distance to Cambridge, Easton, St. Michaels, and Salisbury, or Ocean City for lots of day-trip entertainment. For nature lovers, we are near the Blackwater Refuge for kayaks or canoes. For hunters, this is an area sought after by those interested in ducks, geese, deer, turkey and others. For golfers, there is one nearby golf course and plenty of varied and highly-rated local restaurants. If you’d rather just stay on the property in a quiet, secluded natural arena, you can enjoy boating, kayaking, fishing, crabbing (right from the pier), swimming, walking, biking, sitting with your favorite folks, or holding down the hammock with a good book. In cool or rainy weather, there are games, books, internet and TV. The house is designed for entertaining, with a brand new kitchen equipped with plenty of cooking paraphernalia, and the living space is conducive to easy conversation and lots of comfortable seating. There are two different areas for dining, inside or under the pergola, all in view of the Brooks Creek/Choptank vista. It is perfect for a family to get reacquainted or a romantic getaway. We provide the ambiance, you provide the fun! Living room with 42' flat screen TV, dining room, bathroom and kitchen, two with queen beds and a third with a full size bed, and a loft with two twin-sized beds. separate 15 x 12 pergola with slate flooring, adirondacks, fireplace and dining seating for four. The pier can handle motorboats, canoes, or rowboats. Four kayaks are available. Linens and paperware provided along with all kitchen equipment and dining ware.

Had a great weekend in Cambridge! Mr Rob greeted us with a friendly smile and opened his property up to us making us feel right at home. House was very clean, easily to find, and the views just wow! 5 stars and recommend to all. Thanks again Rob and see you soon!!!

This is the perfect location for the weekend warrior to either get some serious adventure, training, or relaxation while enjoying the views and the comfort of this amazing cottage. Rob and Clarissa were fabulous hosts, from before checkin through the stay. We had a hiccup over the weekend- one of our dogs locked us out of the cottage, and the owners took care of us immediately. We'd happily stay there again!

Really loved the place! It was great for restorative relaxation, and also for gearing up for a biking weekend. The upstairs deck was just lovely to wile away some hours sipping coffee or wine and chatting. The kitchen was well-furnished and we could make breakfast and dinner with ease. Would definitely stay again. Minor note that the single beds in the loft won't accommodate tall folks and are probably best for kids (we had a few short guests in the group fortunately!)

Rob and Clarissa have a wonderful a wonderful property right on the water. It is secluded and very tranquil. We could open the door and our dogs were able to swim without us having to worry about bothering neighbors. The house has everything you could want and there are kayaks and bicycles. It is beautifully decorated and the bedding was really high quality which made me very happy. We will definitely be back.

It will be hard to describe how wonderful this experience was with only words. I booked this house almost a year ago when I decided to come to Cambridge to become an ironman. Throughout the entire process, Rob was communicative and kind. As beautiful and comfortable as the property is, the true gems are he and his wife, Clarissa. They just have a way of making you feel like you've known them forever. We felt like part of the family. They welcomed us and spoke with us, but never in an overbearing way. I hugged them both when we left. This was a perfect home base for the race. Only about a 20 minute drive from the action with no traffic. Rob gave us a great dinner suggestion and even made the reservation for us. I traveled with my husband, Aunt and Uncle. I was the one who booked the property and was the contact. Unbeknownst to me, a few friends decided to travel down for a night to surprise me for the race. I'm also a host and was concerned about having additional guests that I hadn't informed him about. (We were not over the limit of the listed capacity of people, but did have 5 cars between us!) My husband explained the situation to Rob and he didn't blink an eye and told us it was fine. The home is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. I would not hesitate to book this place again and neither should you. The views are breathtaking. Highly recommend!
