About this lodge
Nestled in Salmon River, this charming lodge for $2,390 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Expanded over 9 acres, we have converted the old Garden Valley High School, Middle School, and Elementary school into a one of a kind location for all of your family memories. Your Idaho family reunion location and corporate retreat facility. It is the perfect location for large family reunions, church retreats, weddings, and large events. We have a fully functioning lodge with an awesome kitchen, full size basketball court, bounce houses, rock climbing wall, fishing pond, and game room for your enjoyment. Our facility sleeps over 80 people in beds and has a full commercial kitchen set up for big families. Located only 50 minutes from the edges of Eagle Idaho, there is no other places that can accommodate large groups, be within an hours drive of Boise, and still get the mountainous feel like River Canyon Retreat. To sum it all up we are your perfect Idaho family reunion location. Garden Valley, the gateway to an authentic Central Idaho Mountains adventure. Garden Valley is surrounded in all directions by mountain peaks, some over 7,000 feet. Two river systems carve valleys covered in the lush green of summer growth along with wildlife, stock and horses. In 1934 a new post office established the identity of Crouch, now one of the commercial districts for Garden Valley. The town was named after Billy Crouch, a miner who homesteaded near the confluence of the Middle and South Fork Rivers. In the 1920s, Crouch donated property for a new community hall in Garden Valley.

Our second time at River Canyon and we couldn’t be more pleased. Our young children love the bouncy house and slide. Older members enjoyed shooting baskets and the game room.
The kitchen and dining area perfect for our large family meals.

We liked all of the activities available at River Canyon Retreat. The lodge with a great kitchen and dining room, to eat delicious meals and snacks. The 5 bedrooms with personal bathrooms was great with the lovely air conditioning in the lodge living room was a great place to gather. The gym is where there were 2 more private bedrooms with bathrooms and then the bunk rooms with gym showers and bathrooms. The Gym had all of the activities that met everybody’s fun! We played and played which included rock climbing, 2 wonderful bounce house which included an obstacle course and huge slide, HUGE boxing gloves, disc golf, basketball and we did Karaoke on the stage. Much fun was had in the pool and hot tub. We also brought our own slip and slides and with permission we played water kick ball and slid down the hill. But even with all of that fun, many went near by and went river rafting with a professional company. But my favorite comment was from my 4 year old grandson, when asked what his favorite part was of ALL the activities? “Rolling down the grassy hill!”

We had a wonderful stay with our group of 55, extended family ages 0-75. The kitchen area was great to cook in, the dining area fit everyone easily, the rooms were nice, the bathrooms updated and clean, and the gym and the pool were so fun for all the kids. Thanks for providing a place we could comfortably be together!

The men from our church had a wonderful retreat here. The facilities are great and we found everything very clean and tidy on our arrival. The onsite amenities are fantastic and a lot of fun. Though you could have a great time staying onsite, Garden Valley also has a lot to off for a great time. Greg and Cheryl were very kind, hospitable, and communicative and available for help at any time! We look forward to hosting our retreats here again in the future!

We had a group retreat for about 40 adults and RCR provided a perfect setting. The beds were comfy, everything was really clean, and there was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. We really enjoyed having a kitchen, lounge, and the gym and the dining area was the perfect size. Lots of great space for our meeting and for recreation. The hosts are very thoughtful and we appreciated the extras like sports equipment, kitchen equipment, games, and that they made cleaning supplies available to guests. The view of the mountains is incredible and we loved watching the elk move around the area throughout the day.

We had a reunion with four generations. Our 94 year old was able to have her own bathroom and space and feel included in everything. The lodge hosted all the siblings and again own space and bathrooms. The gym was perfected for the younger families and babies. The kids loved the amenities and played and fished for hours. We set up canopy’s outside the dining room for additional shade to cover the picnic tables. The kitchen was well stocked with anything and everything we needed. We loved the pantry shelves and the walk in fridge so we could stay organized for all our meals. It was a perfect place to host our 80+ guests.

We had our company retreat at River Canyon, and what I can say is this facility exceeded our expectations. Cheryl and Greg were awesome to work with, they were right there if we had questions. We had 20 people and they all had a great time, and let's not forget about the elk herd and wild turkeys that came up on the property while we were there! Just beautiful!

We used River Canyon to host our high school church retreat and had a wonderful time! The students loved the different amenities such as the gym, game room, and hot tub! There was plenty of space for us and the staff was very communicable and cooperative with us! Will definitely look to stay here again!

We are so impressed with the accommodation and kindness that was shown at this venue. We had a very complicated group with being military, and they were so patient with us. We had our winter camp at River Canyon with over 60 kids. The kids loved every second of this place with the open gym, big outdoor area, and amazing sleeping arrangements. The communication with the venue was spot on, and all questions were answered before and during the event.
If you are looking for a fantastic venue to hold your event/family at, you have found it.

The Silletti was perfect for a family reunion of over 100 people. There are fun things for all ages. The gym was a huge attraction that kept bringing kids and adults. Happy and having lots of fun. We had one issue with the DVD player, and they went beyond the call of duty to get it working for us. All smiles in our group.

Greg and Cheryl were great to work with and always available to our group when needed! They were friendly and always answered any questions promptly! We were very comfortable in the home with plenty of room for all. The kitchen made cooking together a fun time with everything you could possible want. We've been here several times and never been disappointed. The gym gives kids their own space with all the activities to keep them entertained. This was a great time for us all.

It is a spacious place with lots of activities and a nice big kitchen. We liked it and the staff was very friendly. On the down side there was only bedding provided for 6 beds and no towels were provided. The cleaning upon leaving is quite extensive as well. It seems like for the price, cleaning costs and bedding and towels should be provided. Overall it was a great place for a large group.

Garden River Retreat was the perfect reunion space for our family of 68 members. We had our children, grand-children, and great-grand-children all there and there were multiple activities enjoyed by all ages. We the full size gymnasium for many activities including, bounce houses, volleyball, basketball, wall climbing, talent show and a dance. The kitchen and dining were more than adequate to accomodate our large family and met with approval from our chef son. Greg and Cheryl, the hosts, were very attentive and helped with any needs we had. We felt like they were old friends. We are hoping to come back again. We all loved it!!

Excellent experience!
Our group of 70 enjoyed every amenity at the venue! We had a blast with the rock climbing, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, pool, bounce houses, frisbee golf, nine square… We used it all! There was never a dull moment, unless one needed some quiet down time and that could be found too. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and dining area. We made great memories and would highly recommend the venue and the onsight managers who were Johnny on the spot if we needed something.

A few things had issues, like hot water in the kitchen, paper towel rolls empty, hot tub needed cleaned, etc. but Brandon was on it as soon as I mentioned it. Everything was great. If we had the other 30+ family members show up, there would have been plenty of room still. Gym was utilized to it's fullest and so was the kitchen and dining area.
